Wonderful stay at Leela Udaipur. A++ for the hospitality, the rooms were properly sealed and sanitized. The common areas were extremely hygienic keeping in tune with Covid guidelines issued by Government of India.
All this combined with the scenic beauty of Leela palace at the edge of Lake Pichola and the extremely warm & friendly staff made our experience truly memorable.
Brownie points for the multi cuisine restaurant, every single dish mostly surely takes one to a culinary cultural paradise.

We stayed for two nights at the Leela Palace and were impressed with both the service and the hotel.

We arrived by boat to much fanfare (to be honest this made me a wee bit uncomfortable with the rose petals and tilik applied) but the children were fascinated. The room was beautiful as well as the facility—with a gorgeous courtyard and open air hallways. The room was perfectly designed with an ample closet, bathtub area, and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and I loved the little touches with slippers and hot cocoa on check in. There was more than enough room for another bed for our daughter. The bed was firm and slept very well. The room felt quite clean despite the dusty feeling of India (we were bare feet at times

The service was impeccable and we were particularly impressed with Mukesh who truly took care of us during our stay. We had breakfast (included in our room rate), lunch, and dinner at the hotel and were impressed by all meals. We tried to eat at the Sheesh Mahal on our second night but there were too many bugs outside so retreated inside and had the menu at the dining room.

I loved the cultural show in the evening as well with singing and dancing. We had two spa treatments (massages) as well and they were blissful as well as beautiful facilities.

The only downside is there isn’t a lot to do in Udaipur and transit into out of the hotel is via boat. We fortunately left right before a wedding was happening but can understand if there during one how the serene atmosphere would be marred by a wedding. For this would recommend visiting this hotel on a weekday to avoid weddings and crowds!

Dear Guest, Thanks a lot for choosing to stay with us and for taking out time to post your review on TripAdvisor. Our credo is Athithi Devo Bhava, which literally translates as "Guest is God", and honestly, I am truly delighted to note that my TEAM stood up to your expectations. We take pride in our TEAM and their ability to execute with humility and yet being professional. Our award winning ESPA is definitely an outstanding experience of its own. Our therapists are extremely well trained and very professional. A small boat cruise on Lake Pichola to reach our Palace is indeed an incredible experience as it gives a brilliant insight to the history of the Mewar Dynasty and the Flora & Fauna of the Aravalli ranges. I must also add here that we have the largest room size in the luxury segment for most category of our rooms overlooking the pristine water of Pichola. Sheesh Mahal, our Indian Fine Dining Restaurant, perched on Lake Pichola under the stary skies is definitely a must do in our modern day Palace. Advance table reservations are always recommended as this is one of the most sought after dining destinations in Udaipur. We are committed to consistently providing warm, efficient and discrete service to our guests, so your appreciation and acknowledgement is our greatest reward! My team and I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best regards, Rajesh Namby General Manager

We visited Udaipur on our honeymoon and have explored many properties there in our 7 days stay. One of them was the Leela palace. What a mesmerizing Beauty! We were upgraded to a Lake facing room and morning view was just so serene. We opted for Breakfast in room, as hotel was on high occupancy and we wanted to avoid crowd. The hotel did not hesitate to organize lavish breakfast spread in my room. I did not have a regret that I was unable to enjoy their buffet spread. The food was served Hot and fresh to the room with all the safety precautions and quick service. We were impressed. While we did book for a half board plan, however the ineffable beauty of their Indian Specialty restaurant was so welcoming that we could not resist ourselves to upgrade our meal with a supplement charges, which we were little hesitant initially however every penny was worth it. *do not miss dinning at that restaurant" Chef shamsher, the Indian master chef has magic in his hands and that clearly reflects on the food. Ankita, who manages the place is so sweet and professional. She clearly sold us that venue and we do not regret it. We opted for destination dining as I wanted to surprise my wife and she loved it. From the menu to the decor, everything was personalized. I appreciate the time and efforts taken by the team to coordinate this with me and make it happen, Again, may thanks to Ankita. Suryapal was super hospitable and gave us brilliant service. He took us on a tour of Udaipur while dining - Of Corse virtually, but what a skill!! He is certainly an Asset to the company.

Overall a very very memorable experience and I am glad that I chose to stay in the palace. Thanks for making my honeymoon so special.

I traveled with family for 2N/3D for a much needed break in this Pandemic, as soon as Rajasthan Borders opened we headed for a weekend break at the Leela Palace. The spirit of the situation was well captured by the hotel and the staff will go to lengths to make sure you are well taken care of. The rooms and the hotel itself is frequently sanitised and that makes it easier to relax. The pool was still closed but there is enough elsewhere to keep you occupied and entertained. The rooms have a balanced modern/palatial vibe. Our room offered us a butler service and Mr Arijit our butler was absolutely helpful and would surely recommend splurging for this experience. As the rest of the city was under lockdown we had all our meals at the hotel itself, the Dining room maître d' Monika was an absolute pleasure, always smiling from behind the mask and big shoutout to Chef Simran Singh Thapar for accommodating our special dietary preferences as well as preparing food as per our special requests. All the ladies at the front desk including but not limited to Sarita and Anuja were very helpful and brought by a cheer in these otherwise dreary times. The hotel had different options for entertainment which included a new form of local dance each night as well as a cupcake making and a mixology workshop.
Would definitely recommend.

We took the first break after the lockdown eased out and really looked forward to the much heard of hospitality at Leela. The hotel pickup from the airport was a little disappointing given we were a family of 5 and luggage all stuffed into an Innova. The drop off from the jetty to the hotel was a great experience though. The welcome is rather warm with the local musicians playing folk songs in the background and a shower of soft rose petals on you by the hotel staff from up above, giving it a very royal touch. The entrance is small, but very regal, with beautiful Ganesha and Krishna idols very strategically placed.
The rooms are well done up with the generous sprinkle of the sun dynasty (of the current king) very visible. The lake view rooms have a calm and serene view from the bed. The bright pink/fuchsia garden parasols really stand out and lend a very vibrant feel to the pastel shades of the hotel and the lake. The pool is rather large and deep and is best enjoyed during the daytime. The guard by the pool is friendly and very vigilant with kids in the pool. The hotel also houses a 159 year old temple manned by the panditji who does morning and evening pooja inside the tiny temple.
The butler showed us the rooms and was extremely helpful throughout the trip. Ankita, the F&B manager, is a great conversationalist and deserves a special mention for going the extra mile and making a reservation for us at the nearby much acclaimed restaurant at a different hotel. Rupak, the sous chef, is super friendly and goes out of the way to understand the guests food requirements and make one feel welcome. Shamsh at the restaurant has simply gone beyond the call of duty, ensuring my sick child was well tended to and really extended very warm hospitality to our entire family. Sanchita at the concierge also ensured all medicines were quickly procured. A huge round of thanks to the warm generous staff.
The hotel organizes soothing cultural evenings in their patio every day with local folk singers and dancers who keep the guests mesmerized with their performances. The all-day dining restaurant has a unique concept of an in-house chaat counter for the chat parched palettes during the lockdown. It has really authentic dishes and is simply unmissable. The view from the outdoor seating is gorgeous during the mornings with the sunbeams and in the evenings with the serene view of the Pichola Lake and the melodic percussion instrument being played live in the hotel premises. The drop off at the airport was well organised with 2 separate vehicles with well uniformed well-spoken chauffeurs.

An excellent weekend getaway to The Leela Palace Udaipur was the highlight of my year of 2020 ! After 7 months of lockdown & staying indoors it was an absolute pleasure to be spoilt rotten by the excellent staff at this luxury hotel !

From the tagging of bags at the airport , the transfer on the beautiful lake , champagne welcome with rose petals @ traditional dance & in room no touch check in this was the perfect way to start our indulgent holiday .

Beautifully appointed large rooms with balconies overlooking the enchanting lake pichola and the front courtyard were luxurious and a sanctuary from which to watch the jag mandir all lit up in the evening !

A must have dinner at the sheesh mahal ensures you have the most most amazing location for one of the finest Indian meals in the country ! Attentive service , outstanding cuisine that tempts your palatte & a sigdi & shawl to warm you when temperatures dip are all hallmarks of a fantastic hotel .

The daily evening entertainment is local and in the most instagramable inside courtyard . A great pre cursor to the well stocked & beautifully done up Library bar in which to have the perfect malt or g&t or cocktail that the very talented bartenders can make to suit your mood .

A must mention is the beautiful guava garden , where a special Italian lunch was set up for us . Honestly the brigade service & the high quality of the curated menu & wine surprised me ! Up there with the 3* Michelin chefs at Hangar7 . You must ask for this exquisite experience in the sun dappled guava orchard - our lunch extended into tea time because we enjoyed the experience so much .

High tea at the Maharaja suite , was another outstanding experience . The suite is palatial and truly fit for royalty .
Any out of the ordinary requests were indulged in without batting an eyelid . Extra gloves , a shawl when it was cold at dinner , an impromptu evening cruise to see the lights shimmering on the beautiful lake - all added up to the marvellous stay at the opulent palace
Overall a LUXPERIENCE which was unforgettable & we are definately returning to indulge ourselves some more of Indian Hospitality at its finest !
Thanks Team Leela Udaipur !

I visited the Leela, Udaipur with my parents and it is one of the most unforgettable experiences I have had since a very very long time. I am a complete Taj hotels fan but I have to admit to some extent Leela crossed all my expectations when it came to hospitality location food and entertainment.

In terms of hospitality I would like to specially thank you the Leela team for making sure that all our needs were met at the time we needed them and in the best possible manner.

I would specially like to thank from the housekeeping team Randhir Tanmoy and Vel For making sure that every time we went out for breakfast or dinner or rooms were always kept ready for our use for that particular day or night. The rooms are always speak and span and there was always everything we needed present in the room after every cleanup.

From the food and beverages team I would like to shout out two Monica Ankita and Arjun four always making sure that we got our wrong special Jane food making sure that my parents had everything they need it for their breakfast at the time they needed and also for making sure that the chef made the food in the way we like it.

I’d also like to thank the manager Abhishek who are took some valuable time out of his busy schedule to give us a tour and to generally talk about the hotel and the staff and the management. I was astonished when I got to know that during the pandemic not a single employee of Leela was sent back home or not a single month salary was deducted by the management.

All in all we had one of the most memorable trips I’ve had since a very very long time the location the view from my room was amazing the room per say was Was designed with exquisite artefacts which took me back to all the palaces I have visited throughout my life, which in turn made us feel like complete royalty.

Hoping to indulge in the Leela experience soon.

Well, the truth is I can't say it in one sentence, as our beautiful vacation to the Leela Palace, Udaipur left us wanting more. In fact, we know we are going back soon; it’s just a matter of when!
From when we reached the hotel, via the Leela boat, across the serene waters of the Lake Pichola, is when our unforgettable holiday began. The resort is placed in a perfect location with the mountains overlooking the lake and the palace of the Maharana of Udaipur in full view. The welcome is warm and leaves you with sense of expectation as you walk into the lobby. After a traditional welcome, you are whisked away to your rooms and your bags follow quite promptly.
We stayed at the Leela Palace for a total of 3 days and we were totally pampered with the opulence that one finds signature to the Leela properties. The decor in the bar for example had the ambience that spoke of luxury that could have been easily garish but was so tastefully done with the choice of art and decor that left you desiring the same at home.
The special dining experience that one can opt for is another divine experience that transports you into the life and times of the Maharajahs, My wife and myself asked the F&B Manager to organize a "Destination Dining" spot for us. Although not available at the time, he made sure we got a spot and heightened the expectation automatically. From the time we walked to our dinner spot via the bar where we met one of the kind person Arun, the Manager greeted us with surprising timing and walked us to our secluded dining spot. We were speechless trying to take in the night air to control the excitement that the breathtaking Udaipur Lake Pichola lay out for us. The palaces on all three sides looming large, with their night lights dancing off the waters of the beautiful lake were breath taking. While we sat and gazed into the night we were served a sumptuous dinner and were waited on by the private dining staff that came with the experience. This was something to take away and register.
From the luxury that the rooms offered to the staff that catered to an entire floor as if you were the only person on the planet to the chefs that catered to your personal requests, the boatmen that guided one across the river, The entire stay was made pleasant because the staff Anjali and Nafis of the Leela Udaipur made you feel royal.

After a few months of lockdown and the trauma we decided to travel with our friends. We chose Leela as we have visited this before and it is well known for its hospitality and services. Moreover we thought they would be taking ample precautions for maintaining the safety of their guests during this pandemic. Unfortunately none of that is taken care of. There is very less staff and the intake of guests is much above government regulations. They don’t even rotate rooms after the guests have checked out and there is no sanitisation in any spaces of the property except the reception. Moreover the food quality and the service is also way below average and due to functioning with less staff they can’t even meet their own standards. Apart from not being satisfied with the food and services we are very scared and terrified seeing how lightly and ignorantly they are dealing with the ongoing covid situation. Please try and avoid this during this pandemic at least. Hope they get back to their original standards soon.

The general managers response:
They have ensured food and service improvements and have invited us back for a stay with them to make sure we get the best of the facilities and services.
Moreover the general Manager Mr. Vikram Aditya Singh has personally apologised and promised to retain their original standards and give us an experience of the Leela that we know. They have also introduced swab tests for every table to ensure safety. They have also looked into the f&b and shall be making the changes needed for the taste and quality of the food.
Thank you for your response and we shall be looking forward to it.
