Poonam Haveli, initially part of Badwa’s Haveli (a small castle), was gifted to Shri AmarchandBadwa who was the Prime Minister of Mewar from 1751 to 1778, throughout the reigns of MaharanasPratap Singh II, Raj Singh II, Ari Singh, and Hamir Singh respectively, built this haveli. Following the death of Amarchand, the edifice came under the domain of the Mewari Royal Family. Poonam Haveli is a three-story building with a roof-top restaurant along with an elevator facility. All 16 rooms depict the art of Mewari, Rajasthani paintings on the walls & ceiling. The colorful glass panes on windows along with jharokhas reclaim the ethnic beauty. Neat & clean bathrooms are attached to each room. There are verandas facing the courtyard of few rooms & few have jharokhas facing the outside lane. Around the inside of the building holds the art & the glasswork. A small courtyard adds to its beauty. On the third floor is the rooftop restaurant called The Winter garden. In between the colorful glass windows and the mesmerizing view of Lake Pichola stands the hand-painted garden restaurant. Walls are painted of plants, trees, flowers, fruits, butterflies, etc… Above the garden restaurant is the terraced restaurant, an experience to laze on the cushions & stretch your legs and enjoy the evening with your loved ones with a candlelight dinner.
