Raj Niwas is a small boutique hotel with 3 rooms, each large & colorfully decorated with huge windows. We stayed in the two queen rooms & the beds were massive! The 3 rooms are stacked on top of one another & connected by a staircase. The King Suite is the top room with its own private balcony looking out onto the lake. If the King Suite is available, I suggest booking it because of the private balcony. However, we were more than pleased with our two queen rooms. The rooms are really light & inviting when the curtains are open.
The location of Raj Niwas is great! You can walk to the City Palace, the Jagat Hindu Temple, the traditional dance show & boat rides on the lake.
I highly recommend staying at the Raj Niwas. You will not be disappointed with the wonderful care Jassu provides & your accommodations.
The only downside was the 1000 am check out policy..
Overall a great stay !
The breakfast was delicious each morning, the room made me feel like royalty with its Maharaja style beds, decor, colored glass windows and views that look like movies scenes. Easy to walk to City Palace, Jag Mandir, Lake side walks, restaurants with fabulous views, shopping of all kinds and just a myriad of alleyways to explore with friendly people all along the way. I can't wait for my next visit Udaipur and Raj Niwas, 3rd floor suite, please!
Uniquely decorated rooms with clean linens. Sleep quality was good. Service was good - only a single attendant for all purposes. He tries to help in best possible way. Breakfast options are limited but good in taste and filling.
Lot's of restaurants around and many tourist attractions are at walking distance.
One can have a great sunset and night light view of the Lake from the room balcony.
Recommended for a short stay.
Jassu perfectly welcomed us and informed us and prepared delicious breakfasts.
The perfect place to live in Udaïpur on Lake Pichola, in the heart of the old town.
I think this says it all.......
It is absolutely our favorite hotel/room over-all in our more than 10 trips around India.
There is something about coming back to a well known place. Every time welcomed by Jassu - always like "coming home".
We were here 2017, 2018 and now in 2023.
Nothing changed (thank God)
LOVE THIS PLACE ❤️
Impeccably clean and well maintained. Spacious comfortable room on 3rd floor with great view and private terrace. Worth the effort to climb stairs.
Small and quiet building in a great location.
On lal ghat.
"Located steps from Lake Pichola and all the main Old City sites, City Palace, etc. Small alleyways with no car access, lots of waking."Read full review
