Khem Villas in Ranthambore garners high praise for its attentive staff and personalized service, especially noted for enhancing the safari experience. The tranquil atmosphere set in a natural environment is a highlight for guests, although the dining experience could use more vibrancy. While the hotel's amenities, including the spa and safari support, are generally lauded for comfort and integration with nature, there are mixed feelings about the overall value.
Cleanliness is a standout feature, with meticulous upkeep evident throughout. The hotel's location is prized for its convenience to the National Park and ethical practices towards animals and locals. Room comfort receives positive remarks, despite some criticisms regarding conditions and in-room features.

This hotel was one of our favorites during our 3 week visit to India. Although not a luxury hotel - we were happy with our choice to stay in a fully appointed tent which was comfortable, clean and beautifully met our hopes to experience the abundant nature surrounding it. Although a tent, there is a full bathroom and shower, and very comfortable bed. Even a small porch. There are regular rooms available for those who prefer it. The staff was both helpful and cheery, and provided great service, including a free and wonderful nature walk through the grounds and restored forest. It was truly wonderful to see the care and love of the land and their efforts to be ecologically responsible. The delicious vegetarian food was made from their own homegrown vegetables, however, for those who must have meat or don't care for Indian food may be disappointed as there are no real continental offerings other than at breakfast. We loved the sounds of birds and sitting on our screened in porch watching the antics of the local monkeys as we prepared for our safari at the nearby National park or during our afternoon rest. It was wedding season during our visit and everywhere we went, this location included, there were fire crackers and music playing spontaneously daily and overnight. Not the fault of this hotel, or any of the others we stayed in, just a timing issue if you're averse to noise. If you're visiting the Natianal Park we highly recommend this location. Its very special.

We stayed for 3 nights at Khem Villas in Ranthambore, splitting our time between the Cottage Villa and the Private Villa. We also had the chance to visit their Luxury Tent villas, which looked amazing!
The comfort of the beds was excellent, and waking up in the middle of nature, surrounded by trees and the sound of wildlife, was a highlight. You even could spot crocodiles and various wildlife right from our location—truly incredible!
The staff was very attentive, cleaning our room three times a day and making us feel special throughout our stay. Each morning, for those heading out on tiger safaris, they provided a thoughtful pre-breakfast pack that included a banana, a sandwich, and water. They also supplied blankets for the chilly safari mornings and raincoats in case the weather didn’t cooperate.
All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—were vegetarian but absolutely delicious. I’m a vegan, and my husband eats everything, yet he loved every dish. The menu had a few selected options each day, and we appreciated the focus on quality over quantity.
In the evenings, we enjoyed the bonfire while having drinks from the outdoor bar, taking in the beautiful views and the sounds of nature, all complemented by exceptional service.

The rooms are individual buildings with a little terrace overlooking nature and both powerful indoor and (untried) outdoor showers . The staff were extremely nice, with the exception of the bartender (who also worked as waiter) who was rather surly. I loved the vegetarian dishes we had at dinner- almost converted me... The breakfast was basic, but they can serve eggs etc. Coffee was quite good. Unfortunately juices were all from packs rather than real orange juice for instance. One bonus was a crocodile who lazed by a pond 20 meters from our room!

My stay at Khem Villas, in the tranquil Lake View Cottage, was an unforgettable experience and a highlight of my Ranthambore adventure. The cottage was a haven of serenity, offering breathtaking views of the lake right from my doorstep, where I often spotted birds and other wildlife. The outdoor shower was a unique and refreshing touch, allowing me to connect with nature while enjoying luxurious amenities. The all-inclusive meal package was incredibly convenient for a safari holiday, with delicious, locally inspired meals that kept me energized throughout the day. The staff’s affable personalities made my stay even more special; their genuine warmth and attentiveness were unmatched. A special mention goes to Mr. Bano, the naturalist, whose in-depth knowledge and passionate explanations about the wildlife and conservation efforts in Ranthambore were truly inspiring. Two nights simply weren’t enough to fully immerse myself in the beauty and peace of this retreat, and I can’t wait to return for a longer stay. Khem Villas is a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and heartfelt hospitality.

Stayed here for 2 nights in October. This place is really special. The cottages are beautiful, comfortable with an amazing outdoor space. Spotless, gorgeous bathroom, super comfy bed. Wake up calls included tea and coffee brought to the room. The staff are professional, polite and made every effort to make sure our stay was exactly what we wanted. Met with the owner which was a special touch. Particular shout out to the male (sorry, cannot recall the name) who spoke to us about the animals and birds in the area, offered a walk around the location pointing out birds and sharing the history of the place, and waited one evening to show us the owlet perched in near by tree. His passion and knowledge was superb. Close to a number of gates to the national park, Khem villas is in an ideal location. Ranthambore Park really is well worth a visit - tiger or no tiger, and would highly recommend Khem Villas as the place to stay.

This hotel is definitely not worth the money and at best should be reclassified as a three star. Rooms are very dark, smell of damp and look nothing like the pictures on the web site. There are also very few electrical sockets and no facilities in the room such as a TV or fridge. The food whilst limited to vegetarian is excellent although there is absolutely no atmosphere in the dining room - all meals appear to be eaten in silence with 6/7 waiters staring at your every move. in fact the hotel was so bad my partner and I stayed one night and booked into another hotel. The manager did absolutely nothing to put matters right and seemed more interested in charging us for the two beers we drunk before we left.

This is a great spot if you’re coming for a tiger safari as its only 10 min drive from the gates for Zones 1-5. As others have said, you must plan far ahead to get passes to those zones. The tigers are not a guarantee and out of 5 drives we really only saw them once. If you go to Zones 6-10, you are unlikely to see them at all
The cottages had decent wifi and plenty of hot water (though sometimes it takes a while). There was A/C, but it wasn’t really working for us but the ceiling fan kept the room from getting too warm. We overlooked a pond with resident crocodiles!
The walk with the onsite naturalist was wonderful - his passion is infectious.
They are well-oriented for the safaris, providing water, snacks and blankets in the morning followed by a cooked breakfast when you return. Snacks & drinks around the fires before dinner was fun. And the vegetarian food was great - lovely to have such fresh produce from their garden. (Spices were certainly very mild for foreign palettes - I would have loved to have had a little more variety in that respect)
The massage was decent and much needed after all the bumpy car rides. Laundry service was excellent- ready same day and very affordable. And I love my new pajamas from their onsite shop, which were custom made in just a few hours.

We stayed in a luxury tent for 3 nights and couldn’t be more pleased with our stay. The camp is close to the national park zone 1-5 entrance making it a good location. We would recommend staying here for the following reasons (in no particular order) - attention to details for our comfort including hot water bottles in your bed. - showers in our tent ( both inside & out) had powerful hot water. Comfortable bed and pillows. - WiFi in camp and rooms excellent - camp fires and bar to sit & chat before dinner - food, vegetarian, outstanding. Probably the best food we have had in India. And as much as you want. All water is purified so no worries about eating salad or having ice in your drinks. We didn’t miss having meat at all. - when you go out on safari you are provided with hot water bottles & blankets - which we were very grateful for in the cold mornings. - great spa offering massages (which were excellent) - walk around the camp with naturalist And all with the best service. Thank you to all the staff

Very cozy tent-like dorms with a view straight into the nature, delicious food with a tolerable spice level and very attentive staff! And dont miss out on the opportunity to take a walk around the ground with a guide! We enjoyed our stay a lot :)

The camp-like hotel is located near the main entrance to Ranthambhore National Park and has a captivating Serengeti atmosphere. The tents and huts are spread out over a very well-kept and spacious area where monkeys and marsh crocodiles (in the pools) live. In the evening, a fire is lit before dinner and you can enjoy a few drinks at the outdoor bar.
Our room, the Luxury Tent, consisting of a tent with a solid wooden floor and veranda, was big enough and very comfortable. The food was very good and the staff friendly and extremely well organized. We therefore give it six out of five possible points.

After over two weeks in Nepal and a few days in India, we arrived at Khem Villas. We had not been consuming uncooked vegetables during our trip but I could not resist the salad any longer! Every meal here was extremely delicious and most of the produce is grown there and cleaned well. You will not have any problems! We did stick to bottled water though (it was provided in the room).

Yes you need jumpers and a coat . The early morning Safari can be really cold , the jeeps are open - no roof or windows . I wore a fleece and a thin jacket . Wear layers in case you get too hot !
