A beautiful 14th century fort, sensitively converted to become a Six Senses sanctuary of well-being. Originally owned by the Rajasthani Royal Family, it faces the Chauth ka Barwara Mandir temple. The significant conservation effort incorporates a palace and two temples within the walled fort. The design reinterprets the gracious and regal ambience of a bygone era dating back 700 years.

One of the best experiences in India so far. Fort Barwara is exceptional! The service is top-notch – everyone is super nice and helpful. The spa is like a magical place for relaxing; it feels so good. The staff is always there when you need them, making you feel special. And oh, the food is just amazing – so tasty and organic, a lot of herbs are grown in their backyard. What I really liked is how private it is. You can just be yourself without anyone bothering you. It's like your own little haven of peace. Overall, it's a comfortable place. If you want to feel pampered and unwind, this is the spot. Our suite was absolutely breathtaking. Six sense has done an amazing job at providing high quality service and products in the rooms.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel defines new and young luxury in India. We, a family of 4, were travelling for my mother’s 50th birthday. The staff being aware, promptly wished her and had a cake ready in the room. Before diving too much into the experience, I need to acknowledge the sheer scale of the restoration effort - it’s a marvel. Projects like these help you immerse into the richness of Indian heritage and truly make you feel proud of your Indian identity. The experience was exquisite - right from the rooms, which are spacious, chic, modern to the food. The spa facilities as well as daily activities (we did yoga with Kanit as well as a hotel walk with his brother) are worth mentioning too. The food service is something that needs a separate mention - most of the ingredients are locally sourced. For example, an eggs royale has local river fish instead of salmon. Touches like these add to the specialness of the experience. Go for the full board and you won’t regret it (perhaps the weighing scale would). We were staying at the Oberoi Rajvillas prior to this. If Oberoi is the definition of old, quintessential Indian luxury, then this property contrasts that by defining young and new Indian luxury. One small qualm - hotel staff shouldn’t be on their phone at an time while on activity duty. Special shout-out to Ganesh, Shivani, Anil and Raj. We will be back.

Excellent service provided by the hotel management.. we loved everything about the place.. Ganesh was superb in providing us with the fort knowledge and he was our perfect Photographer for a day .. all the staff was so helpful and when we get lost in the property the staff would escort us back to our destination. The food was excellent , the massage and the salon services were all great .the safari experience was excellent and the arrangements were made according to our needs. We r looking forward to visit the place soon again and hope the excellent services continue to be delivered. Best regards to dear Ganesh , Gaurav and the whole team of Fort Barwara. The celebrations at six senses fort barwara was a time we would remember for a long long time !! What is even more special is their earth lab headed by "Sid" - in times like today he is doing such important work and my girls have a taken a lot from him. The curated experiences that our Gem " Ganesh "worked on for us added the charm and made our anniversary even more special !! Thank u for all d efforts !!

I am planning to stay at the hotel from Dec 20-22. I have tried calling to confirm a few things with the hotel. Neither do they pick up the phone nor do they respond to emails. Is this is legitimate hotel? I am very concerned about my reservation that I made through Expedia.

As always, the Six Senses brand never fails. Beautiful hotel, with many tasteful details, extraordinary food, and attention to detail on the part of the staff, which is noteworthy. It is worth watching the sunset and participating in the temple Puja ceremony.

Six Senses Fort Barwara undoubtedly stands as a prestigious international-grade resort. The culinary journey was an absolute highlight, offering unparalleled and meticulously crafted dishes, setting a remarkable standard among the country's resorts. Opting for the full board enhanced the experience, complementing the beauty of the property, especially its historic segments. The fort's transformation into a hotel, retaining an 800-year-old charm, offered breathtaking views and a serene spa, providing an immersive historical encounter. However, the dichotomy between the renovated and new sections of the fort was evident. While the old portion emanated an awe-inspiring ambiance, the architecture and paint choices in the new construction felt jarring and failed to harmonize with the fort's character, diminishing the overall premium allure. Despite this, the rooms themselves were magnificent, truly deserving a perfect score among the finest in any hotel. Regarding the staff- courteous and professional. Some very sweet and kind people - Neha, Sambode. They lightened up our days and enhanced our stay. Almost the entire restaurant staff was so wonderful. However, higher level staff members lacked the finesse of seasoned hospitality professionals, which I've encountered in other renowned chains like Oberoi. One thing that was a bit off-putting was that we kept seeing many staff on their phones throughout the day; something you shouldn’t be seeing for staff on active duty. While staff was wonderful, management, unfortunately, felt a bit out of sync. The on-call (front desk) manager tended to get a bit defensive about what we thought was fair and constructive feedback, lacking the receptiveness crucial for such a premium establishment. However, the gem managers were a standout, displaying exceptional dedication and enthusiasm in fulfilling guest requests. You will get a GEM manager during your stay- and this is a delight. Special shout-out to ours, Honey. The excursions and experiences, regrettably, fell short. The village tour felt contrived and superficial, a stark contrast to a previous authentic village exploration. The tour ended at a sunset spot that was less than ideal, situated near a construction site and infested with mosquitoes, detracting from the overall experience. We wasted a beautiful opportunity to enjoy sunset at the fort because of this experience. Moreover, the resort's disconnect with the local community was apparent, a stark contrast to other hotels' seamless integration. Almost no local staff interact with guests much (understandably- the resort is very young!). Six Senses seemed to care about sustainability a lot, and I’m not sure I saw that shine through thoughtfully in my experience there or with my interaction with the manager. It felt a little disconnected from the village that surrounded it. While Six Senses Fort Barwara has immense potential, it currently lacks the transcendental service and integration necessary for a truly remarkable stay. Despite architectural and experiential shortcomings, it remains a good option, however. I absolutely enjoyed my stay overall and cherish my time there. I met absolutely wonderful people and staff who were so hard working and nice. The memories of sunset over the forts 800-year old walls will stay etched in my memory. However, before I visit again, I'll await substantial changes in management to elevate its hospitality and experiential offerings.

We visited Six Senses for our anniversary dinner and it was an absolute amazing experience, the food & service were outstanding and the ambience was beautiful. The staff of the restaurant Rani bagh was extremely kind and helpful, especially the restaurant supervisor Goverdhan singh went above and beyond to make sure we had the most special evening. It’s an absolute stunning property with great food and stuff, must visit.

My husband and I had an incredible time staying with Six Senses at Fort Barwara. Even before we arrived the staff was reaching out to make our trip unforgettable, and that didn't let up until well after we had left. Our GEM, Rohini, is truly a gem in every sense of the word. She went above and beyond when she found out we were there on our wedding anniversary. Rohini wasn't the only one--the entire staff took care of us from food, to drinks, to the spa. Highly recommend visiting for an incredible vacation.
