This was my second visit and I must say I can't get enough of it. Location is lovely just 2km away from Ranthambore national park, rooms are spacious and nicely done. Staff was courteous and my special thanks to Mr. RAJENDRA MEENA for being so attentive and humble, you made us feel like home. We would love to visit again and I will recommend this property to all my friends.

Sawai Vilas is probably one of those properties which can best be described as a tranquil green oasis in the middle of the scorching heat of Ranthambore, during the summer months. The property is about 3 years old and the trees are still young. However, the gardens, vegetable patch and pond are all very well maintained. The property is beautiful, clean and during these COVID times, special mention must be made about the front desk staff and restaurant staff all wearing a mask to cover their noses and mouths and the installation of sanitizers at high touch points. We stayed here for a week and had an upper floor room with a fantastic overview of the property and the hills behind. The rooms are clean, very spacious and had all of the amenities one needs. The staff are more than happy to help out with any requests one may have in terms of amenities (we had requested for an iron and board). There needs to be a special mention of the splendid attached outdoor shower area which soon became our favourite feature of the room. They had no limits on the number of water bottles (they also provide these when heading out on game drives) for a day and this is especially important when the temperatures soar. The food at the restaurant is delicious and has a good number of vegetarian options in the buffet. The staff are very courteous and will insist on serving you mouth watering local delicacies even if they sometimes are not a part of the buffet. Lalit, Vikas and all of the other restaurant staff are very polite, approachable and are the epitome of the famed Rajasthani hospitality. Even the packed breakfasts during the half day safaris had variety with very good taste and were filling. They went out of their way to arrange a complimentary private dining experience for just the two of us at the gazebo by their pond on our last night, here. Chef Rinku, met us personally to ensure that the quality and taste of the food was upto our liking and it definitely was! The only downside of this experience was the brand of hospitality by one of our waiters for that evening- Ramdhan- who came across as extremely overbearing and did very slightly spoil what was otherwise an amazing hospitality gesture/dining experience. The pool was closed when we visited (COVID restrictions) but definitely looked very enticing. Vishnu, the manager, Poonam and Makhan Singh at the reception were always ready with a smile and enquired about us after every game drive and were ever the gracious listeners. Himanshu from the front desk deserves a special mention for being a superb host and helping us out with all things big and small during our stay. Thank you for making our stay all the more easy and memorable, Himanshu! The hotel is located a mere 5 mins from the entrance gate to zones 1-5 and about 20 mins away from the gate to zone 6. Although we did book our safaris privately and with another vendor, the hotel does provide the option to book the game drives and for all of those who have booked by themselves from the SS0 website, they also provide the option for releasing the vehicle at a very nominal amount, if and as needed. A suggestion for the management- you have already adopted certain green measures in terms of towels in the main washrooms, your own vegetable patch and signs to conserve water in the rooms. Maybe this can be taken a step ahead by replacing all of those plastic water bottles being handed out by switching to sustainable glass bottles replaced with filtered potable water used at the kitchens/dining areas, which can be filled every day/twice a day. This would definitely up your conservation and green game by contributing to much lesser plastic waste. In conclusion, this is probably one amongst the top hospitality experiences we have had in India and the staff make the place what it is- charming, tranquil and definitely a home away from home. We will be back here, for sure, during our next visit to Ranthambore national park.

Oasis in the middle of a desert - that’s one of the first thoughts which comes to your mind the moment you step foot into this ultra luxurious hotel in Ranthmbore, the home to India’s national animal - the tiger. The look, feel & ambience of the property takes you to a world of luxury & style and the first expression which comes to your mind is “Wow, this is stunning” For a minute you wonder if you are in Ranthmbore & then as you walk around, images of tigers framed on the wall reaffirm the fact that it’s the tiger heaven of India. This property has all modern amenities, including a man made lake and an area for private dinners. This is particularly useful for those anniversaries or romantic dinners with your partner. There’s a fully functional gym, a billiards room, an activity room with board games, bar and a beautiful rooftop restaurant. This overlooks the stylishly designed swimming pool. The property is so nicely spread that the open space itself makes you feel good. The quality of construction, wether it’s the flooring, linen, cutlery...just about everything is as good or even better than some of the big branded “5 star hotel chains” found in India. One of the strongest points I felt was the food which was cooked to perfection. I tasted different cuisines & the taste was what you would image or want it to be - perfect is the word. For starters, I would definitely recommend you to try the Tomato Basil soup & the crispy garlic bread, the kabab’s which melt in your mouth, the chilly paneer. For the main course, one should definitely try the Rajasthani dishes. The rooms look stunning and are well spaced. This is one of those resorts wherein you can just come to stay & relax. It’s perfect for families, for couples who are looking for a romantic gateway & for singles as well. Last but not the least- I would like to leave a word for the staff which eventually makes the big difference. The service standards are the best in the world. You are always greeted with a smile & genuine “warmth” from all the people working there. Rajasthan has been known for its hospitality & Sawai Vilas is a testament to the same.

Needs a much better level of professionalism in its team . While the staff try their best and do what they can it’s not good enough in terms of the finesse and efficiency expected from a top class property largely because of lack of training and maybe a shortage of staff in Covid times over the Holi weekend . We had 7 rooms where the entire extended famiky was taking a break for the first time in 12 months . The food is very good and the buffet tables always very well filled . Large variety always on offer at all meals and the restaurant staff courteous . The Holi festivities could have been better organised. The bar was not set up and things like gujiya and thandai would have added to the flavour . The toughest part of the property is reaching it on a 8:9 km apology of a road and lack of signages leading to the hotel . The rooms are large and well furnished and the layout allows for large families and freinds to enjoy very well . All rooms open to the central lawns . There is a lack of adequate walking strip for morning walkers and that should be improved in some manner.
