We also had dinner at the hotel and the food was normally.
Finally, the hotel is in the old town and the taxi can’t go there, so you have to take a tuk-tuk to reach the hotel and to the way back, and also you have to pay it.
1) Location: The haveli is located in a quiet lane near the mehrangarh fort. Also, the haveli is within walking distance to the fort, ghanta garh, market area. However, staying near the fort means staying in the old city area. The old city area like in any city with an old centre is crowded, dirty and chaotic. Staying in such area requires one to let go of inhibitions, accept the nature of the area with its chaos. So please keep that in mind when booking any place in the old city.
2) Ambience: the haveli is old and is decorated traditionally. It's quite lovely. The furniture has an antique feel and while some of the furniture was quite dated and some even broken in some parts (not the bed luckily), I found it a part of the charm and it did not affect my comfort in any way.
3) Comfort: The stay was quite comfortable. Bed was not too soft, not too hard. The staff provided us with a heater in the room to combat the cold. The slight issue with our room (on the topmost floor with fort view) was with the plumbing in the bathroom. The plumbing was slightly faulty with leakage under the basin. It wasn't from the drain luckily. The geyser was quite dated but worked well.
4) Staff: the staff were very competent in handling our every issue. They were very warm and helpful. They provided us the room heater for the cold. They arranged autos for us for tour of the city and told us where we would get good value for our shopping. They helped us carry our luggage up to our room and they were up at 6 am for our timely check out.
5) Food: the food was quite good though the variety was limited.
All in all, our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed our limited time in the chaos! I didn't feel threatened at being a lady in this part of the town and felt quite safe walking around even at 9 pm. I would recommend this place to anyone who is brave enough the absorb the vibe and chaos of staying in the part of the old city.
Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
Room: our room on the top floor had a marvelous view of the fort above and the blue city below. The room was spacious, with ample electrical outlets. The bed was large and comfortable. Water pressure and heat in the shower were good, though the water heater needed to be turned on 20 minutes before using. For reasons unclear to me, the sound of a water pump was constantly audible, though I fairly quickly habituated to it. The wall decorations were brightly colored to say the least; some might call them garish, but I rather enjoyed them. Note that the top floor requires walking up four steep staircases.
Ambiance: the common areas (a courtyard and an interior common room) are quite lovely. The interior room has an attractive and interesting collection of artefacts. Our room was as soundproofed as could reasonably be expected, but the neighborhood is noisy, with a cacaphonous symphony of singing, scooters and barking dogs audible at all hours. Bring earplugs.
Food: note that breakfast is not included, but, as seems to be the case everywhere, the prices were quite reasonable. We ate dinner here twice and the food was tasty. The restaurant is open all day, and Western and Indian options are available. Nearby Blue Street Cafe is probably the best of the three neighborhood restaurants we tried.
Location: an easy walk to the fort and to some of the iconic blue houses. The hotel is set back from a busy, chaotic road. Dining options in the immediate area area limited but decent.
Staff: this is a definite strength. All the staff, especially Sunil, were unflaggingly cheerful and helpful, and spoke enough English to allow us to be understood.
Only draw back is the constant noise of the tuktuk during the night.
Most of them offer a view to the stunning Meherangarh Fort which is easily reachable with a short walk from Haveli.
The haveli provides excellent veg food either in your room or at the roof top restaurant or at a large open restaurant area at the first floor beautifully decorated with colorful Saari fabrics.
The hotel team starting from the caring owner till the crew, mostly Nepali (must mention at least Sunil) are always ready for your wishes. Try it out!
*We had someone on the street tell us that he worked as a cook at Singhvi’s Haveli, and he took us to Maharani Textiles. We later realized he did not work there and that people take you to Maharani Textiles to earn a commission off whatever you buy. Be careful of dishonest people on the street who do not work here.

"Important: located in the old city with narrow streets cars cannot enter. Even with lots of luggage you will be safely transported with Tuktuk to the haveli!"Read full review
