It's hard to define my Jodhpur experience last week but all I can say is that I miss this city a lot after continuing my first ever India adventure, and Castle View Guest House is definitely part of this feeling. I don't know if there's a better view on Fort Merangarh in town but be assured that the one from this place is extraordinary. What to say about Soni and his staff ? Well you'll have to discover it. By the way, did you know that a Bollywood movie was recorded in Jodhpur and that the stars of the movie stayed at Castle View Guest House ? But that's another story...

Unique and quirky guesthouse in an old building in the Navchokiya area of Jodhpur, which is a quieter neighborhood than the busy clock tower old city area. Accessed via a narrow alley and lots of steep stairs inside so won't be good with anyone with mobility issues. The rooftop patio and restaurant area has stunning views. The room had very unique decor and my room had a stunning view of the fort (although I couldn't really leave the windows open for very long because pigeons live immediately outside the windows). No sheets on the bed just a blanket and also the rug on the floor was dirty. Service is a bit mixed, was staffed mainly by somewhat bored young men, there was nobody there when I arrived to checkin, and restaurant service was a bit slow. Power outages at certain times made staying in the room far too hot. But overall, this still would be a very recommended place to stay, due to the good price value, very interesting and unique decor, quiet neighborhood, and amazing views. …

You HAVE to stay here!! The location is amazing, the view from the terrace of the old town and the fort is breathtaking. The food and drinks from the restaurant were such good value for money. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. The interior of the hotel is like nowhere else we have ever stayed - once in a lifetime! The only thing to bear in mind is that you have to get a tuktuk on arrival as the streets in the old town are too narrow for taxis but this was not a bad thing at all!

After following a dark street and trying hard to find the place we found the Haveli, full of paintings, decoration, stairs and many more details impossible to describe. Very old place, the room was big, I could not open the windows because the pigeons would enter the room Bathroom was ok, not too dirty, (never clean in India).

Beautiful haveli, central but not very busy area. The room wasn’t very spacious but had a hall and staff provided some extra furniture. Very helpful staff and lovely roof top. They serve good food as well. Good experience!

A pretty, comfortable home stay with fab views of the Palace and Fort. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the staff are friendly and the beers are cold. A little walkway from the street, with a lot stairs. The food is tasty. Everyone tries really hard to make it a great stay. If you’re lucky you get fireworks (let’s be honest it’s most nights) to dine by.

I did not expect what I got. I stayed in a 500 year old heritage home which is converted into a hotel. The owner is very nice and came up and spent time talking to us which was Much appreciated. The Home stay located on what ever little is left of the Blue City. The room I had was very comfortable and air conditioned. Over all stay was Pk. Some work needs to be done on the room service staff and staff training in general. Other than that it was lovely.

If you want to experience stay in old jodhpur city, Castle View is the place to goto. The location is very close to the fort and you get to see excellent uninterrupted view of the fort. The rooftop restaurant is very cosy where you can spend hours enjoying the view. The staff is very courteous and maintain the property well. The rooms are regular in size and decor is very artistic. It is an Old Haveli converted to a homestay. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The view from the room is great and the rooftop restaurant has the best view of the blue city and the Meherangarh Fort. The place gives the feeling of staying in an old Haveli (mansion) with all the necessary modern amenities

I cannot emphasise how beautiful this place is. The decor and ambience is the best! Everywhere the attention to detail and character of the place just makes you happy. The hosts were super friendly and very helpful. The room was superb. The terrace outside our room lead to the rooftop restaurant had a magnificent view of the sunrise over the old blue city and jodhpur fort and was the perfect place to eat the lovely breakfast. I would go back to Jodhpur just to stay here again!
