Firstly, the people at the reception esp the lady are terrible at dealing customers. Behaviour is unacceptable. 24hr service is a lie. Room was dirty with hairs on bedsheets. The room had a disgusting smell. The bathroom was too small even for a tiny person like me. The place was a nightmare. Ruined my few days of holiday. One day water was also not coming at night. Sometimes nights and early morning as well it is too noisy to sleep. Every possible thing was wrong. The worst stay I ever had so far. The location was alright, however, was too congested. I wish there was possibility to give rating in negetive.
Baba Haveli and New Baba Haveli are connected next door. We stayed at the New Baba. Location is good and views from all terraces are beautiful. Room was clean with hot water or. Mustak, the manager was very helpful with all our requests, whether planning or cooking. Stay and enjoy
The family were extremely welcoming, the room was very clean. They helped us book a bus to our next destination and accommodated us for an early breakfast around 6.30am before we departed. Much appreciated and a lovely place to stay.
When you stay at Baba Haveli Guesthouse you're essentially staying with family, Good honest home cooked food, a great roof top view of the fort, a short walk from Sardar Market and Toorji Ka Jhalra. True you'll have to have the odd bucket shower but at less that £10 a night can you really complain? The owner is a friendly guy who speaks excellent English and continues to help me navigate India long after my stay. If you're exploring Jodphur alone this is likely the place for you. They even washed my socks, which could have been classified as a chemical weapon by that point.
Baba Haveli is certainly a budget guest house but for ~$12 AUD a night it's a great family run find. From the moment you arrive host Imran will make you feel more than welcome. The highlight is the rooftop restaurant, and the pride of Imran's house, where the floodlit Mehrangarh Fort towers over you and views of the palaces can be seen. Good variety on the menu and Imran's wife and sister cook lovely dishes. The Fort, Palace and Clock Tower markets are all within walking distance. The rooms are fairly basic and what you'd expect for the price but with a little persistence are fully functional, with your own toilet and shower. Yes the constant noise of Jodhpur is at your doorstep, but that's everywhere in India. Imran is an amazing host. Even before I arrived he organised numerous transport for me and then even did so for me throughout, changed money managed laundry, organised transport, etc. more than you could possibly ask for... nothing was too much trouble. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thanks again Imran.…
My room had an awful smell and was constantly damp. But much much worse was my experience on my last evening when I was organising my bag to go to the train station in the foyer. I witnessed a violent family dispute and the owner started to shout and beat his wife!! I had to intervene to get him to stop. Immy you should be thrown in jail and banned from running a guest house! What a disgrace!
I do not think there is a better place in town. Fantastic roof top restaurant with stunning views of the fort. Excellent food for any drink and Imran, the owner, you can not ask for something that does not come true. I'm sure he is from a fairy-tale.
I had an enjoyable stay at Baba Guesthouse. Imran and his family were very friendly and hospitable. My room was simple but comfortable and clean. Imran’s wife makes some delicious food which you can enjoy from their roof top with great views of the Fort.
Very cheap and in a really good location. However the room was very basic and the wall was open above the door making it quite noisy and lacking a bit of privacy. Immy (owner?) was friendly, and gave us a room with a window when we requested one. A totally fine place to stay for two nights on a budget - but for longer stays you might want somewhere a bit more comfortable.
This is a great budget option close to the clock tower. There’s an awesome view of the fort from the rooftop and the staff are really helpful. They list “free parking” but this isn’t really true - we just parked in a public space nearby. Also, the drains in our bathroom smelt really bad but the reception staff did give us some odour balls when we commented on this. Restaurant food is very reasonably priced though lassis are made with syrup instead of fresh fruit, which is a shame.
