We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Mogul empire Haveli (palace) in the centre of Jodhpur. Fizz has impaired mobility, so on arrival, we were given a free upgrade to the Queen’s room in the old women’s area, the zenana. Quite aside from this enormous room being stunningly decorated with the original wall paintings, this meant that we had no street-facing windows and also no street noise from the adjacent, and very noisy, Clock Tower square. The service followed this level of consideration all the way through our stay. We have no hesitation in recommending this as an excellent place to stay in Rajasthan‘s second city.

Pal Haveli was a delightful experience in our recently concluded Rajasthan trip. The location, the upkeep of the property and the warm hospitality impressed us the most. The last point deserves a special mention as the staff comprised of locals who were very efficient and prompt. The food was very good too, with a view to boast of from the rooftop restaurant. The well kept haveli was a delight to explore, with lovely spaces filled with authentic memorabilia of the days gone by. We had breakfast everyday to the lovely view of the Gulabsagar lake. The rooms were super sized and clean. I would highly recommend a stay at this exquisite place. It exemplifies all that Rajasthan is.

Pal haveli hotel is a very lovely heritage property in the heart of the old city. This must rate as one of the best hotels in which I have stayed. The heritage quality of this hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. The rooms are tastefully designed with all the modern touches you need. The property itself is visually stunning with beautiful murals, antiques and seating nooks around every corner and I highly recommend checking out the rooftop restaurant it gives a beautiful view of Mehrangarh fort nd bird-eye view of old city. Our experience here was outstanding in every respect. Highly recommend

This Haveli offers an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Jodhpur. Its very centrally located within easy walk of the market. My family was given the two rooms on the ground floor which were spacious and we were able to enjoy the courtyard between them to play cards in the evenings. The rooftop restaurant has amazing views and good food as well as pleasant service. Breakfast is to-order and there are good Indian and non-Indian options (one morning my son who has been struggling with the local cuisine scarfed down three huge pancakes). The bathrooms are a bit dated and need a good cleaning and maintenance and a new set of linens and towels would go a long way, but overall our stay at this hotel was a nice and authentic experience.

First, the positives: (1) it's located in the heart of the city near Mehrangarh fort , the clock tower, the stepwell, and the famous Shri Mishrilal lassi place, (2) the rooms and the property are very quaint and appealing, (3) decent wi-fi, and (4) the staff members are helpful and obliging. I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1 only because of these factors...

Now for the negatives. The entire property is badly in need of a facelift and the rooms are really sad; low quality bed linen, towels, toilet paper, and rickety fixtures. The bathroom is barely adequate and hot water is from a geyser so you need to allow 15 minutes between showers. We had two rooms and when we asked for an extra bed in one it wound up costing us about a third of the price of the entire room! This second room upstairs was exceptionally bad: the water in the shower wouldn't drain and the room had an unbearable smell. After unsuccessfully spraying it with something, the staff had to move us to a different room for the second day. The roof-top restaurant has nice views but the food is average at best.

Overall, I'd suggest passing on this place and looking for something more contemporary or at least more well-maintained.

Careful about booking at this hotel. Pal Haveli refused to refund my deposit even though I canceled the reservation the next day and it was more than one week before the date of arrival. The deposit is substantial and only a partial compensation was given by offering a diner at their restaurant. On the other hand, the hotel restaurant was a nice option for dining in the old part of town with a view to the fort.

This is a lovely small hotel with unique rooms and several courtyards. Afternoon tea is complimentary under the tree in the main courtyard. The rooftop bar and restaurant is perfect for watching the sun set over the fort, and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there. The location is excellent, close to the Step Well with its cafes and boutiques, and the Clock Tower Market. Our small group was at the Pal Haveli for Holi, and the staff made it even more fun with celebrations before we set out in the city. The small shop on site was also excellent, with different artisan products that we couldn't resist.

We stayed at Pal Haveli for a couple of nights in March 2020. The ground floor room was breathtaking, very Indian in decor and with all amenities. Ate on the rooftop restaurant one evening. The food was top notch with tremendous views of the fort, which is beautifully illuminated at night. The hotel location is right by the main area of town so good for a private stroll too.

This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Jodphur and in a very interesting old building. Rooftop bar and restaurant is nice. However it’s pretty basic. Hot water was a bit hit and miss, they were stingy on the amount of toilet roll they provided in rooms and the breakfast was terrible. The afternoon tea was a nice touch but cakes were stale ... but a reasonable price.

Staying here is like living in a museum. Everything is original. It's beautiful and fascinating. A real treat. The rooftop bar and restaurant is wonderful overlooking the busy streets below and out to the mesmerising Mehrangarh Fort. The food is excellent and the staff are really attentive and well-trained. The only gripe we have is the music on the rooftop. Reminds us of elevator or department store music. Such a shame. It ruins the ambience. Better to have Indian music or preferably, no music at all so we can hear the street sounds below and the call to prayer. We want to feel as though we are in Jodhpur! In summary, a pretty impressive place and the best haveli we have stayed in during our Rajasthan trip.

What time do they serve the afternoon tea on December?

We were there in October and afternoon tea was available from about 3 - 5 pm if I remember correctly. It is not a 'formal' event people come and go, but they do have a range of teas and snacks available in the courtyard during these times, which is good when returning from exploring the town.
