Detailed Reviews
We reached Kalinga in the early evening. Karan received us in the reception and what immediately stood out was that all staff members were masked and there were safety protocols being taken.
The rooms were good. The food was also good, but check with the staff on portion size to make sure you don’t waste food and over order. It was our mistake over ordering, not the staffs.
There are some really nice views around the area and Karan was kind enough to offer to open the gates at the back of the palace to explore and trek. They provided ice buckets and drinking glasses for us as turn down service.
Karan was extremely helpful in assisting us with our plans. We went to Osiyan for a short desert safari at INR800 for 3 people. He also advised us a nice restaurant in Jodhpur for where to have lunch.
Once COVID comes under control, we’d be happy to make the trip to Bijolai again. Special thanks to Karan again!

I and my husband along with my parents( both are above 60 years) travelled to jodhpur on Feb 28,2020. we stayed here for 3 days. What I love during my stay was the calm, serenity and the vintage outlook of this property. I have opted for a ground floor heritage lake view room. The garden and the upper terrace is really awesome and they have maintained it really well. The Rooms were pretty basic in opinion, nothing fancy. However it is clean and all necessary stuffs have been provided. Please note, they don't provide hair dryer in the bath room (For me it was ok.) All two days I had dinner from the hotel itself and I enjoyed their food and hospitality, while enjoying the traditional Rajastani folk music and dance . Since I did not try any other restaurant in jodhpur, I cannot compare the price and the value. The rooms which has some lake view in the ground floor, are Room no 117 & 118. I would highly recommend this hotel, if you have a personal vehicle as it is 20 min away from the major attractions( which should not be a problem considering jodhpur is a city with less traffic jam) and there are no restaurants nearby. They serve the dinner at the terrace and buffet at the ground floor. I feel the stair is also not that steep and old people would not find difficulty in climbing. I covered all major places ( Mehranga Fort, Mandore Garden, Jaswant Tada, Umaid Bhavan Palace, Clock Tower etc) in jodhpur while staying here.

Just wowww...I came to Jodhpur for the first time and someone had suggested to visit Bijloi Palace and it is really a beautiful hotel. Dinner experience with music was very nice. Staff here is very helpful specially I met Mr. Abhishek Mishra who helped me a lot, I had some personal issues to solve. The food here was also very tasty and the location is very quiet. Whenever I come to Jodhpur, I will definitely come here.

I would highly recommend that you do not use the Bijolai!
When we arrived we were stunned by the beautiful courtyard, but the place is exceptionally poorly run.
Rooftop was full of waste lying around, beer bottles and cigarette buds and other trash. Rooms are simple, but clean. There is a tv, but only local channels - no English channels at all! Internet is not really working. It took more than 6(!!) hours, several calls and visits to the reception to get toilet paper resupplied to the room. Fridge was not working.
Restaurant didn’t open on time in the morning, and was not properly cleaned. The food was not worth the price, and the service even worse. After 45 min they could not produce an omelet (that was on the menu) even though there were only two other guest beside our family.
When we came home after a full day of sightseeing (and we stayed in the city and had dinner, knowing the standard of the hotel restaurant) they were preparing for a big party, probably a wedding the following day, and shortly after they started a party with live music on the rooftop literally just above our rooms. It was so loud that we could hardly have a conversation in the rooms, let alone sleep!
My husband complained at 9pm and the manager said it would be finished within 10 minutes. 9.30pm I went and talked to the reception manager again, and he said half an hour or so more. I told him that we would be leaving if this didn’t stop with in a few minutes. He then offered for us to switch rooms to rooms not directly under the live band, but even in these rooms the music were very loud, so we dismissed the offer and left the hotel past 10pm - the music still playing loudly.
I still hope we will be able to get a refund for at least the last night of the stay as they simply did not provide a place where is was possible to sleep at all!

The Hotel service is horrible
Basic hand soap i have to call for rooms 10 times.
The extra room taken was not cleaned at all till the evening
Basis TV channels were not working and required some permission.. only few were working
These are basics before handing over the room to customer.. nothing was taken care of
Why customer should call reception for 10 times
The Restaurant.. What ever the drinks menu said on drinks, 50% of the drinks were not available and over priced

We stayed there for New Year's expecting a nice hotel because of the property photos & the tariff we payed, but it was SO NOT WORTH IT.
The property looks like a 5 star property but rooms are extremely sub-standard & service is even worse.
You can expect raw food at the breakfast buffet & you can also expect to hop in the shower in hot water, but the water to turn cold in a matter of 10 seconds & you'll be left to bath in super cold water in Dec-Jan months.
So book this property AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I am writing this unbiased review after staying there for 2nights.
I was arrived 2hr early so they asked me to wait and rooms alloted between 1:30pm to 1:45pm. Routine check in time is 2:00pm
Meanwhile we had ordered pakoda (below expected), sandwiches(above expected) . We have ordered plain buttermilk (strick instructions for no addition like salt of cummins) they served with additions anyway later on they replaced it.
Hotel is not actual heritage, it was constructed before 3-4yrs. I accept exterior is very good, yes there is a room for improvement but OK.
Room alloted were heritage, it's specious but proper cleaning was missing.
They have placed dispenser for soap, body wash and shampoo but quality as well as quantity was not OK.
Washbasin has cracks. No dental kits were available.
They don't enough plugs if you want nirvana from gadgets than you can stay here.
Yes there is an amenity other than restaurant was named swimming pool, which was full with leaves and dust with approximately 4" water.
Don't leave you window open you may have guest on your bad.
Finally I won't suggest to any one for stay.

Basically, don't go by the pictures that are being shown of the place. I was choosing between this place and another one in the city with really good access to everything and I was swayed by the pictures of the place in the website and thought that the experience will be more palatial.
But, the only great thing going for them is that they had some great photographers take good pictures of a normal place. The rooms were rundown, water was not running hot and their service was nothing to be proud of. Room menu had an option of a high tea package for which we dressed up and went to the restaurant only to be told that the package was "unavailable" in the restaurant menu. Went to the reception and complained about this and thankfully, they arranged for some tea and snacks.
The place was hosting a big party that night and the loud music went on and on and was really annoying followed by firecrackers that really tripped up my kid. All the restaurant workers were busy with the party and room guests and their service was completely ignored.
I don't understand why they would want to book room guests when they were going to have this big a party in their premises.
The Uber/Ola ride services don't go there and there is no auto from the place either. The road is bad from the main road and it takes about half hour to reach Jodhpur places to visit, so in terms of accessibility, if you are in Jodhpur for sight seeing, this place is a bad choice

Most reviews looked good, we went for one night stay. Felt so good on arrival. Inside a jungle, heritage-like property, so green all around, surrounded by lake and mountains, staff so friendly. Very exciting !.
All excitement remained only till we arrived in our room. As we entered we were welcome be number of centipedes inside the room. When complained we were shown another room but again the walkway was full of centipedes. Did not feel like changing. We sat on the bed only to realise there were red ants in blankets. Ordered steamed rice and got half cooked rice.
The room has glass windows supported by worn-off wooden frames, decorated by dirty screens. Even the linen and towels need quick replacement. Soap and shampoo dispensers were empty.
Breakfast restaurant was good, quality was very nice but could not enjoy since there was stink emanating from the lake behind. One side of the lake was so dirty and some of the rooms, tents and breakfast area are just around this dirtiest part of the lake.
In short it’s a dream property worth paying double or triple the current tariff if only they make the rooms modern, clean & cozy.
Request the Management to address these issues that will give customers a unique and unforgettable experience.

This lodge is far away from city . The rooms are filthy,
The plaster of the wall is gone and there are dirty spots on the wall.
The towels and napkins had stains on it . It was really difficult situation for us as we were not carrying our own towels and couldn’t use those.
I called reception in morning for a bottle of water I never got it till checkout. The water bottles btw are of done “yes “ brand
There was brea buffet , ok ok one but the staff was very rude.
I asked them to change the spoons as there were stains on it , he asked us in return “so what should I do? All wi be like that”. I mean seriously ?
Not even ready to change spoons?
There were pigs roaming in the surroundings 🙈🤦🏻♀️
Highly highly NOT recommended
Only the reception lobby is what it seems taken care of rest everything is just pathetic .
