We stay 3 nights at Juan Mahal's place. Such a beautiful time! The room are so clean and comfortable! The place will bring you into a historical and romantic indian journey, with that massives old doors and dressers, clean and fresh marbles and that typical architecture of Rajasthan! They have also a rooftop with a wonderful view above the blue city and the castle on the top of the mountain. But the most important is definitely the kindness of the staff, who treat you as friend, not just a tourist. We recommend!!
We walked in Juna Mahal in May 2017 and the family who runs this boutique hotel really made us feel comfortable. First of all, the place is a jewel. Well-decorated, clean, and modernized (AC, WiFi, toilets, restaurant menu). Then, the family is welcoming and really respect your privacy. We stayed in a room with a big bed and attached toilet and it was wonderful. The boss even let us use the room after we checked out since it was empty and we were leaving town only in the evening. In all, we really enjoyed our stay and the value of this homestay. We highly recommend.
When our tuk-tuk first stopped in the street outside, we were sure we were in the wrong place - but one of the great things about this hotel is its location, in the heart of the small streets of the city, of which there are fantastic views from its rooftop (breakfast location). It is full of character and history and really well decorated. The staff are friendly and helpful, but not pushy.
This is a hard review to do as there were some lovely things to enjoy. On the positive side: the building is a fantastic heritage havelli, our room (Lord Shiva) was fabulous and food on the roof terrace was surprisingly good, plus it's great value. However, on the negative side, the road outside was being dug up and we had to mountaineer over piles of rubbish to get to the Haveli, additionally, the smells from the sewers and noises from the neighbours were frankly disgusting. Sorry, Juna Mahal.
The room was adorable. It was a comfy bed and hot water. The rooftop view is beautiful. The staff was very nice and made me feel at home. My only complaint is that I think the restaurant food prices are extremely high though the food is good.
Beautiful, clean room and bathroom. Helpful and friendly staff, good food. Let my husband watch how the food was prepared and helped him access ingredients that he couldn't get in the UK. The rooftop terrace has lots of separate areas that have a great view of the fort.
One of the few things definitely worth experiencing is the culture of Jodhpur, and that's not going to happen in a star hotel. Juna Mahal is inside the old city, just off one of the main sweet shop streets. The place looks small from outside, but the rooms are colorful, creative and kept interesting. We loved the heavy doors, bright quilts and old fashioned rooms. The cafe in house is expensive, but has a good view in the evenings. Charming!
We just came back from a wedding in South India, Cochin and ended our trip in Jodhpur. It was my second time in India and I really enjoyed the history and wondering the streets of Jodhpur. The Homestay was perfect. It was clean and in a very old building. Comfortable rooms and a roof top that made our stay overlooking the whole city and fort. We were able to walk to the Fort passing rickshaws, cows, cars and all the action. They served meals on the roof top. All very good and very helpful staff. The chef was great and accomodating to our requests. The owners organized a camel safari into the desert for the four of us. A wonderful experience sleeping under the stars and eating with the family. We each had a camel and went out to watch the sunset. Such a great experience and so…
I arrived very early in the morning and although it was not check in time yet, the boy welcomed me and took me to the terrace where I enjoyed the sunrise. It was a nice welcome. The room was spacious and very nice, clean. The only problem was that some of the towels provided were not cleaned. The roof top terrace is very nice although I haven't eaten there.
