Inside the Walled City of Jodhpur and under the imposing stare of Mehrangarh Fort, sits RAAS. The site was formerly the home of the aristocratic Thakur family, and the original 18th-century haveli has been carefully renovated to produce the four old buildings of the hotel. The three new buildings are modern and contemporary in their use of space and light, and yet are grounded in tradition. Jodhpur's red sandstone unites the new with the old, with modern designs in its latticing and carving adding a fresh dimension to the region's age-old stone carving industry. This seamless harmony between the old and the new, the modern and the traditional, extends to all aspects of RAAS. Almost all of the rooms have magnificent views of Mehrangarh Fort from both the private terraces and from the cast iron bathtubs, and those that don’t have their own private gardens and views over the old haveli and landscaped gardens of RAAS. The rooms are furnished with state of the art amenities: all rooms are air-conditioned with the latest eco friendly machines, and have overhead fans, hairdryers, safes, central heating, wi-fi, TV, telephones and en suite bathrooms. There are rooms with easy access for the handicapped and non-smoking rooms. RAAS boasts two fine dining restaurants, which offer both Indian and International cuisine: Darikhana is a beautiful terraced restaurant and the Baradari Café is inside the old pavilion and offers a relaxing location near the pool. There is also a luxury spa that offers a full range of treatments and a boutique shop. RAAS is the ideal place to soak up the rich local heritage of Jodhpur while at the same time indulging in opulent luxury and comfort. As soon as you drive through the old wooden gates in RAAS’s very own blue tuk-tuk, the majesty of Mehrangarh Fort will be tempered by your sense of relaxation.

RAAS Jodhpur garners acclaim for its exceptional service, with staff members often described as professional and attentive, despite occasional check-in hiccups. While the hotel's pricing is on the higher side, especially for local cuisine, guests are impressed by the modern and comfortable rooms with their breathtaking views, albeit some report noise issues. The amenities, including a rooftop bar and a well-maintained pool, receive high praise, adding to the luxurious atmosphere accentuated by the hotel's cleanliness and stylish aesthetics. The location, offering proximity to local attractions and splendid fort views, is highly valued even with some accessibility concerns.

Situated under the huge he fortress this hotel is very romantic and luxurious . A great pool, two good restaurants and a spa. Our rooms were very nice, we got earplugs for the prayer call of the mosque but did not use them. Early in the morning it is quite short and not disturbing. Breakfast is in the open so bring a sweater in wintertime!

Excellent en-suite room with balcony (which could be screened) on the first floor overlooking the inner courtyard, swimming pool and the Amber fort on the cliffs above. Ground floor rooms below us seemed to have a private courtyard which we could overlook and balconies on the third floor are entirely open. We are huge fans of the RAAS chain - excellent service, friendly staff and fabulous food in the restaurant with a European menu option - we enjoyed the Indian dishes on both nights of our stay. We will be telling our Travel Agent in the UK that this chain should be favoured as they are unbeatable at the current price.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first or second floor overlooking the inner courtyard seem to be best.

It is a beautiful setting hotel. Very pretty and a great boutique hotel. The courtyard by the pool is amazing to sit around to while your time. We stayed in the duplex suite which was perfect, the bathtub on the first floor is very relaxing. The breakfast was amazing, Arshad was excellent during breakfast was very courteous and prompt. In the evening as we were walking by the courtyard, Arshad was very kind to call us and take a picture in a beautiful spot in the courtyard. He is a gem. The service in the entire hotel is perfect. We also decided to prepone our visit and eventough we had prepaid, the hotel was kind enough to issue us a credit note, which I though was an excellent gesture. It is a great hotel. The problem is only the location, the roads are very narrow so coming and leaving the hotel can be a struggle. But other than that it is a 5 star property.

OMG, what a welcome and what a beautiful hotel. Had a deluxe room, overlooking the pool and the Mehrangarh Fort on top of the hill. Could not have asked for a better room.
The only hotel I have ever stayed at that unapologetically give you ear plugs when they turn down your bed at night! Love it! And you need them for the 5am call to prayer! Mosque right beside the hotel. Which only adds to the experience.
Food was fantastic in both of the restaurants and breakfast had some great choices.
The hotel is right beside the stepwell, definitely worth a visit and grab a beer at the stepwell cafe! Great shops in the alleys all around the hotel.
Every night there is an open top bar and bbq on the terrace, with the illuminated Fort up on the hill. Special.
Also this hotel does not use single use plastics. Well done.
Nothing to fault here but only great recommendations.
Definitely recommend.

I visited Raas Jodhpur, in Jan 2022 for a family getaway from Delhi, our welcome and breifing of the property was very average. On arrival it was quite disappointing to know that as a family we were accomodated on two floors even after knowing the property was 90% unoccupied. The front desk and concierge was of no help in planning our itenary for the next three days. Their electric scooters for local commuting were inoperational because of staff shortage. We paid for an extra bed for my 12 year daughter, but got know that it was arranged on the couch rather than on a rolling extra bed which would have been much more comfortable. Pics attached with some mosquito company as well 😇. There was also no assistance for out driver's accommodation near by for which I personally had to spend a couple of hours to manage the same.

The drive to the hotel is quite an experience becouse of its approach righ in the middle of the walled city of Jodhpur, would suggest to bring small cars and strict no for SUV's and Big cars.

Also the room tariffs felt like a whole in my pocket, with food menu priced way beyond imagination and unjustified.

Finally the only thing we liked was the view from the hotel of the Mehrangarh Fort which is actually Majestic and slightly covers up for the above. We did get a feeling of their comfort and acceptance towards foreign travellers and less inclined towards WE INDIANS

This hotel is right in the centre of Jodhpur and has the most amazing view of the fort. It is wonderful to sit and watch the fort change colour with sunrise or sunset from your balcony. The hotel is also right next to the amazing Stepwell. Our mini bus was not allowed to drive through the streets as they are so narrow so to get to the hotel so we alighted and went in by tuk tuk which was a great way to arrive. Lovely large rooms with a balcony. The only downside is that there is a mosque close to the hotel so you hear the call to prayer but the hotel do provide you with earplugs for those who chose to wake naturally!

This hotel is very nice and overlooked by the stunning Mehrangah Fort. Our room had a good sized balcony with views straight up to the Fort. Stunning.

The room was quite spacious with a separate robe and suitcase area. The bathroom was large and included a bath.

There are two restaurants at the hotel with both serving tasty food. The buffet breakfast isn't the largest but there are enough options to satisfy all tastes.

For the swimmers, there's a nice pool. And for the tourists, there's a nice step well adjacent to the hotel. Check it out.

The only downside to the hotel when we were there was the internet speed. So slow as to be virtually unusable.

Note that you will hear a fairly regular call to prayer but to be honest we thought that added to the charm. Earplugs are provided to those who can't cope.

Still a nice place to stay.

We greatly enjoyed our three nights at the RAAS Jodhpur.

Our room was large and very nicely appointed. It had a large balcony with a great view of the fort, which is illuminated in the evening.

The breakfast buffet was very nice, with both indoor and outdoor (view) seating. It was quite cool in the morning but the restaurant provides heaters (glowing coals or propane) at most tables.

The location is one of the highlights of this hotel. We enjoyed walking to Sardar Market (10 minutes) and passing by the amazing stepwell located immediatekly next to the hotel. There are numerous restaurants within a few minutes walk, many of which have rooftop tables with views of the fort.

Noise from the nearby mosque was never a problem.

The staff is outstanding in every regard. The front dsk was especially helpful when we left a jacket in our tour guide's car.

Very nice interiors but plenty many compromises, the noise level in night and early morning Azan sounds then houses adjacent to the hotel are quite a downer. you really don't want to spend your morning with views of people brushing and gargling in front of you however normal day to day activity it might be.
Front desk experience was average though the restaurant and service staff were really good, Would like to thank Chef Amit for my amazing Pizza that too without cheese a must try. Approach road is also a tricky part one of my cars could not even enter in late hours of night as someone had wrongly parked auto right in front of gate. They are still in the process of renovating rooms, the place has potential I hope it lives up to the brand that RAAS is known for.

Why room might be less noisy? Little worried about the 5 am call of prayer...
Answer from Vincent C

The hotel is in the middle of the old heart of Jodhpur. It happens to be adjacent to a local mosque. The call to prayer is broadcast by loudspeaker throughout the neighbourhood. We happened to be there on a Friday when the sermon went on for a good hour. It was loud. After the first day the prayer times are hardly noticeable. The property is lovely and comes highly recommended. On your trip I’d advise you to stay in a variety of places so you get the feel from palaces to places like the Raas which over great comfort and service at 1/3 price of a palace property. Bon Voyage.
