Inside the Walled City of Jodhpur and under the imposing stare of Mehrangarh Fort, sits RAAS. The site was formerly the home of the aristocratic Thakur family, and the original 18th-century haveli has been carefully renovated to produce the four old buildings of the hotel. The three new buildings are modern and contemporary in their use of space and light, and yet are grounded in tradition. Jodhpur's red sandstone unites the new with the old, with modern designs in its latticing and carving adding a fresh dimension to the region's age-old stone carving industry. This seamless harmony between the old and the new, the modern and the traditional, extends to all aspects of RAAS. Almost all of the rooms have magnificent views of Mehrangarh Fort from both the private terraces and from the cast iron bathtubs, and those that don’t have their own private gardens and views over the old haveli and landscaped gardens of RAAS. The rooms are furnished with state of the art amenities: all rooms are air-conditioned with the latest eco friendly machines, and have overhead fans, hairdryers, safes, central heating, wi-fi, TV, telephones and en suite bathrooms. There are rooms with easy access for the handicapped and non-smoking rooms. RAAS boasts two fine dining restaurants, which offer both Indian and International cuisine: Darikhana is a beautiful terraced restaurant and the Baradari Café is inside the old pavilion and offers a relaxing location near the pool. There is also a luxury spa that offers a full range of treatments and a boutique shop. RAAS is the ideal place to soak up the rich local heritage of Jodhpur while at the same time indulging in opulent luxury and comfort. As soon as you drive through the old wooden gates in RAAS’s very own blue tuk-tuk, the majesty of Mehrangarh Fort will be tempered by your sense of relaxation.

- We hadn’t initially planned to stay at this hotel but found ourselves needing to book it just 3 hours before our arrival due to unexpected circumstances. Despite the short notice, the hotel staff had prepared a very special welcome for us on our honeymoon. - We were allocated a beautiful room with an incredible view of the fort. The bath was adorned with flower petals and candles, creating a romantic ambiance. Upon our late arrival, we enjoyed drinks and food on the rooftop, where we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of bubbles and a congratulations cake. - The staff was extremely attentive, friendly and service minded - The hotel is stunning and its location in the heart of the old town was ideal for exploring the surrounding areas. - The food served on the rooftop and at breakfast was excellent. - We really loved our stay and highly recommend it.

Modern and clean rooms with bathtub and balcony overlooking the Jodhpur Fort. Breakfast selection is great and staff is super friendly. Amazing location looking at the Fort and behind clock tower market. Pool and garden space is serene calm in the loud city, very relaxing.

My family and myself stayed in the stepwell suite for 5 night and loved this hotel. It is located in the old town which has its charms. The hotel itself is a paradise with some of the best views in Jodhpur. Our suite was amazing! Staff were excellent and nothing was too difficult. They always had a smile on their face and they did a lot of special little things that made the stay for our girls enjoyable. I loved the pool. Food was of western prices but reflects the hotel and clientele. Meal for a family of 4 could be around £100 without alcohol. I did the morning yoga with Rupchand and also an Ayurvedic treatment with him. He was excellent! We would certainly be returning to this paradise

We were given to understand that Raas Jodhpur offered a great view of the Mehrangarh Fort, during the night and the dinner there at the foothills in their Darikhana restaurant is a delight. On this premises, we booked at Raas Jodhpur, as the last point of our vacation. A wrong decision, must say. The gateway to the hotel is a real bottleneck through the crowdy Ghantaghar area. The reception of the place is a real mess and not even six people can sit there. Not clean clubbed with some very unwelcoming faces. The rooms are dingy laden with loads of dust. They don't offer bottled water either in the room. The linen and pillow covers are worn out. The bathroom mixer doesn't work what with the miniscule water coming out of it which was very hot. So much so that I had to wash my soapy face with the bottle of water kept in the room because the help from the reception didn't come in for ages even after complaining. When we met the GM, he attributed the fiasco to some one off technical snag but had no answer to the bad housekeeping and delayed response. The dinner was great though the fort management, owing to energy conservation, did not turn on the lights but Prahlad, the server there knew his job to perfection. The food quality was good. The breakfast had nothing great to offer and the morning service was sluggish. Enough to further ruin our experience. In an effort to apologise, the Management packed some sandwiches and rolls for us but that perhaps wasn't enough in comparison to the bomb we paid for a horrific experience. Just abstain.

We choose not to stay at the RAAS Jodhpur as we wanted to have a variety to our trip however we booked in for the Spa. From the welcome to the treatments, Mr Rupchand and team Cherry and Soulak, made us feel at home and comfortable. The treatments were heavenly after a long day of walking around and gave us the much needed rejuvenation and refresh. Dinner was impeccable and we were so well taken care of by all the staff at the restaurant. We arranged for a yoga the following day with Mr Rupchand. And while I’m not a morning person, this session was not one to be missed. Highly recommend morning yoga with a view. Mr Rupchand really gave me a new appreciation for Yoga and the knowledge to be able to practice independently. Highly recommend! I would probably book in for the full experience given the full opportunity.
