For an authentic Homestay and to see how village people live, Chhotaram Prajapat at Salawas village is worth a visit. Only 30 mins drive from Jodhpur away from the busy city. We had a warm welcome, comfortable room in the hut, interaction with the family, and experienced the 'real India' Great food which is very different to what most of...

It it so easy to travel from 'place' to 'place' in India - there is so much to see. But much of India is very rural and a chance to experience a few days in rural India with a caring family that includes you in some activities without compromising their own values and way of life is a privilege. .......

Best village experience one can handover to their family on vacation. I stayed for 2 nights with family , Chhotaram and his family made our extremely comfortable. "Padharo mhare desh" - This Homestay lived beyond its expectations of Rajasthans slogan. Hospitality at its best, and one of the best ever Rajasthani food ,which I didn't get even in a 5...

Mr Pukhraj and his family go out of their way to make your stay memorable. You stay in quaint little thatched huts. Their dinner and breakfast (under the tree!) is amazing. Make sure you ask them to show you the rugs that they weave. And while we did not participate in the village safari, many of the other guests did...

The excellent reviews are all right - Chottu and his extended (very extended) family will make you very welcome, from arranging pick-ups, local walks, village safari, and just hanging around the family compound with the children, animals, and the other guests. From dressing up in local clothes, to chapati instruction (with little success), they seem to have an inexhaustible patience...

This is the place to experience a typical rajathani village homestay. The huts where we stayed in the compound same as owners. It's a veg homestay, with no outside food allowed (appreciate if chhotaram mentions that prominently in their website). The food taste quality can definitely be improved, especially the dinner. So are their bathrooms cleanliness.

We absolutely loved staying here. It was a holiday from a holiday, a quiet retreat where we were made to feel like members of the family. Lovely courtyard seating area, staying with family of weavers who showed us their loom and all around their local area. The hut we stayed in for two nights was just as lovely as shown...

We (2 families - 4 adults + 4 kids) stayed here for 1 night - it was excellent. Huts are nice, you can watch stars by laying on cot outside your hut in night. Morning safari (with Chotaram's father) was excellent - you will definitely get to see lots and lots of peacocks, bunch of deers, black bucks, neel guys...

So, as usual I was impressed with the reviews which I saw in Trip advisor and wanted to experience it. But, for the first time I couldn't agree with the overall rating. I am not saying it was bad but it is not for someone who has spent some time in his own childhood in a rural set up or...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise. ... more   less
