It was amazing experience, very private no crowd , this was real desert safari , where you can see all wave designs on sand , candle light dinner in sand dune is amazing experience. Owner are very caring , fd is excellent, stay was perfect.
It was a wonderful experience staying here especially the candlelight dinner on sand dunes under the sky without any city lights. You can literally see millions of stars and spend hours watching them. Very romantic. Rooms are also great especially the top category which we were upgraded to (thanks to the hosts). You wake up to a sun kissed morning if you remove the curtains. The hosts gave us a very warm welcome and have countless interesting stories about their grandfather who served in the military. A place that you must visit. Instead of spending all your nights in Jodhpur or Jaisalmer, spend a couple here in between the two cities and enjoy the great desert experience.
We had a fantastic day here. You can watch the sunset and sunrise while eating dinner at the dunes in complete privacy and silence. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate any requests. The food is also fantastic
The owners welcome you with an open heart and leave no stone unturned to make the stay of their guests comfortable and enjoyable. The property is majorly dedicated to the brave men who've served our nation as mentioned by Mr. Digvijay the resort was founded by his grandfather Brig. Udai Singh Bhati (MVC) which further adds value to the place being a gem. One must pay a visit if they're nearby as you'll find the stay worth your money and time with calm, peaceful environment in the heart of Rajasthan under the sky with million stars. The dunes dinner is the main attraction with great ambiance and an unforgettable view furthermore, the food is splendid and ultimately the place tells untold stories which fill you up with a sense of pride. P.S. you'll have three German shepherds Tipsy, Rocky and Shadow who add on to the fun of the stay.…
Amazing…wonderful and the most memorable experience we had at the Desert Hermitage. Its about a month we have visited it but still we are just talking about it and sharing the lovely experience with family & friends. Must visit place as the food, the property, the hospitality, with the wonderful and unique candle light dinner under the sky in desert….everything were just amazing. Nice and quiet place far from the cities to meet yourself as well as the family in a super fantastic atmosphere. Heard the true stories of the 1971 WAR from the owner Shri Digvijay Singhji. Salute to Late Brigadier Shri Udai Singh ji (Father of Digvijay ji) and his bravery. The owners take really good care for all their guests and make us feel like their family. Must visit place, I would surely recommend it. Plan your trip accordingly as it comes just between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. Either way stay at least a night there and try to see the sunset and sunrise both. You would love it. It’s actually A MILLION STAR RESORT. Keep it up Digvijay Ji and Family.…
Perched at the edge of the Indian map, tucked away in a quiet uninterrupted corner of Rajasthan, Desert Hermitage-a million stars resort is as far-flung and remote as it gets! Its large, spacious luxury cottages and villas feature private courtyards, outdoor fireplaces and expansive desert views. We are seasoned travellers, and not easily impressed but, wow, these guys have got it all so right. It is completely seamless, completely effortless and so natural. I simply cannot list all of the wonderful things that set this place aside, there are simply so many things they do perfectly to make you feel so happy and loved by people you have never met. How do they ever do this when mostly you are part of the tourist process around the world? Firstly, you are met by Karan Singh Bhati his wife Anjana & son Digvijay, the resort owners and they are the leaders of this exceptional culture, they are so passionate about what they do, it's infectious to all around them, including yourself and every single member of the staff who are all local villagers. Surprise followed by surprise in their care. We had a 48-hours, 2-night action packed, wine filled, food enriched, culture amassed period of fun, stories, fantastic food and education that fascinated us. The private candlelit dune dinner curated especially for you is perhaps the most impressive of all, decked out in a retro-safari aesthetic with full modern accouterments. We cannot thank you all enough for a wonderful stay, an experience of historic hospitality that would be very difficult to equal. Well done, all of you, the team deserve our heartfelt thanks and appreciation. For readers of this review spend a few bucks more and please go here, you simply will have a wonderful time and take home memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much, Elizabeth…
Located in the interiors, this is as close to nature one can get. The property is painstakingly clean and well maintained. The place is pet friendly and there are 3 doggos at the property that make the stay an absolute delight for dog lovers. The best part is the attention to detail in every aspect. This is not your typical commercial overcrowded resort/hotel. Away from the hustle and bustle and nested away in a remote village called Gada, its eerily silent at all times. No problems in network reception (I use jio). There are no mosquitoes at all because of the absence of a water body nearby. You can leave the windows open at night if you love the chill outside. Coming to my favourite part, the food. They make anything you ask them to. We had succulent lamb (lal maas) which was an instant success with us. Palak paneer, varius dishes in chicken, dal tadka, mixed korma, baingan ka bharta etc were some of the other stunning dishes and neither one disappointed us. Visiting from Gujarat, i was as thirsty as a crow and the staff were able to arrange anything and everything and the brand of ones choice. I had OMR. The owners are quite amicable and go out of their way to blend in. It felt like two families on a holiday. We werent turned down for anything. I really liked the aloo parathas for breakfast. The stuffing was done evenly accompanied with butter, fresh curd and pickle. Neatly gobbled quite a few of those calorie laden breads. They also have fresh juice and cut fruits and eggs to order. There isnt a menu per se but they make whatever you ask them to. The highlight of the stay is the dune dinner wherein the owners take you to their private dune (yes you read that right, just like a private beach, the property owners have their own private dune). There is a proper candle light dinner and the view from the top is beautiful. Once it gets dark you realise the full potential of the place. You look up and its a star gazers delight. You see the naked night sky in all its glory without an iota of smog/dust/obstacle. We dimmed the lights to soak in the beauty of raw mother nature and enjoyed the peace and silence. It was like meditation to the senses. Suddenly we became aware of ourselves and its an experience that will stay with you for a long time after the stay. The owners ensure that atleast one of them are present on the property at all times. The property is safe to say the least. We took our doggo too and the little guy had great fun. I would hands down recommend the property to anyone looking for a getaway from the normal hustle and bustle that we are so used to. Its like going to the mountains without actually going to one coupled with the added advantage of great food, amazing company and a relaxing experience.…
Our stay at the Desert Hermitage was everything we expected and much much more! 3 days before we arrived our friendly host Karan Singhji called to customize the menu for our breakfast and dinner. That set the tone that carried through, with his son Digvijay Singhji's directions to the resort. We were warmly welcome by them along with Karan Singhji's wife, Anjanaji. We felt like we arrived home. And that was just the beginning. The candle lit dinner on the private Sand dune, watching sunset after camel rides is beyond description. The gourmet food, personalized to our taste, was amazing! The jeep ride with Digvijayji was the biggest adventure in my life. It was just like being in a movie. That night I fell sick, fortunately I was here rather than any other hotel, because I was looked after very well and made to feel right at home. They offered us to stay on as guests an extra day, and Anjanaji paid me frequent visits keeping me company sharing cultural stories. The cottages were lovely-- modern, relaxing, quite, and peaceful, with interjections of peacock calls at night. Each of them were very warm, friendly, courteous--the best hosts ever! They followed up several times with phone calls after we left to see how I was feeling. Now they feel like family to us all . My father, my son and I are filled with gratitude, and will never forget this experience. We highly recommend Desert Hermitage-- it is a must do!…
