The Clement Dune Retreat, Jamba offers an opportunity to experience this perfection in the stunning barrenness of the desert landscape where you can feel the exquisite beauty around you take over all your senses. Located between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, well off the tourist trail in the remote Thar Desert; Dera Dune Retreat, Jamba adds a point of difference to a tour of Western Rajasthan. Named for the nearby village of Jamba, Dera Dune Retreat has 18 stylishly appointed cottages decorated in royal Rajasthan style, a swimming pool to beat the desert heat and sweeping views of the desert. We picked a dessert holiday as summer set in. Most folks thought we were mad to go in the middle of the dessert at 40 degrees but honestly it was the best decision ever due to this amazing property. Ms. Anjali who runs this place was warm, thoughtful and informative. Our arrival was welcomed with cold towels and a cool lemonade and this was kept ready everytime we stepped out and got back into the resort. The staff are courteous, food delicious and with a good variety in the menu. They organized a lovely visit to the salt pens, potters home, village tour and an amazing dessert safari with a little adventurous dune bashing, visit to the carpet makers beautiful home too. We spotted some dessert fox and camels and deers of course. The carpet maker also had a lovely collection of carpets you could buy from and nothing like buying products straight from the hands of a craftsman. The property during sunset is gorgeous and the view of stars in the night sky was magical. There is a lovely shade book outdoors with a bed you can chill on and read a book too. I will highly recommend you go visit this place and this was more og a highlight of our trip than actual Jodhpur itself. Thank you for making our holiday memorable.…

A very Beautiful and maintained property, situated at great location with customized services. A humble companion of Mr Hari (who is a good part time photographer also), delicious food by Mr Pukhraj and assistance by Mr Pintu and team... all make a perfect destination to enjoy. It's good idea to stay at least 2 to 3 days to explore activities over here. And last but not least, the owner maam... she is very perfectionist, supportive and very down to earth. Kudos to the team Dera. Thanks for everything...

I surprised my wife for her birthday by taking her to Dera Dunes, Jamba. We both were floored by the rustic beauty of the place. We reached the property, from Jodhpur airport, just as the sun was about setting and we witnessed a hue of colors for an amazing photo opp. It was indeed pure scenic bliss captured in pics for a lifetime!! As so many have already posted raving reviews I fully concede and compliment each one of those, having experienced first hand their excellent services. Those looking forward to spend some quality ME time with nature and be pampered with outstanding services as also best in class stay facilities can surely bet for Dera @ Jamba. But also be forewarned it is not for the faint hearted considering it's location and accessibility- with no civilization for a few kilometers around! My earnest thanks to Mr Digvijay, who was patient enough to answer and inspire confidence for me to choose to travel 2400 kms away, ignoring so many other properties around South India and zeroing in on Dera @ Jamba. Also earnest thanks to each and every staff member at the retreat without whom it would not have been possible to have such a memorable holiday. Life gets colored by these wonderful memories to cherish.…

Just book this place right away!! Its an UnExplored JEWEL in the Thar Desert. We’re avid travellers. But during covid times we were really picky & were a bit reluctant to book this place as it was in the middle of nowhere. But after visiting this place we’re totally awestruck by the natural beauty that my wife and I witnessed. Dera Dune (managed by Mr Abhiraj) was a real hidden jewel set amidst three famous towns of Rajasthan ( Bikaner , Jodhpur and Jaisalmer ) . To our surprise the four days we spent at Dera Dune were most Relaxing yet Eventful. We had the opportunity to experience & see some of the most beautiful natural wonders which we couldn’t imagine we would explore while staying at dera dunes starting from the Thar desert, the Domicile cranes, the salt pans. What we would like to press upon is that the highlight of the trip is not just the natures beauty, beautiful views, infrastructure provided here but the Hospitality. The service standards set by Mr Abhiraj “man of the show” “the Boss” “GM” are par par excellence. No 5*\7* can match what we experienced here. Right from being ushered & specially greeted with raised hands on our arrival to our checkout. Each & everything was managed, serviced & executed with Top notch standards of Hospitality industry. Hari ji our Personal Buttler was there to meet all our requests right from Dinner under the stars, to serving us & pampering us to literally spoil us. He was there 24hrs to serve us on just one call. Had never experienced this kind of personalised service anywhere. Abhiraj had planned our itinerary very well & showed us so much in such little time & yet gave us time to just chill & relax. On day1 - the day of our arrival as we were exhausted due to our long drive from punjab to Rajasthan we unwinded ourselves in our veranda which was attached to our simple yet luxurious room. It had beautiful view & a charpai to lie down. Went for a small walk to nearby sand dunes around the resort. On day2 - we saw the beautiful domicile cranes, its a sight & treat to eyes to see thousands of big birds just flying around in flocks. Abhiraj had packed scrumptious breakfast along. The cookies, banana bread & sandwiches were delicious. Then We visited the old town, Old jain mandir, Haveli of a collector where we shopped for antique items, stopped to eat mircha wada & dahi lassi. In the evening we further went on to see the local village. Interacted with the locals & learnt so much about their lifestyle. We shopped for local handmade beautiful rugs from the artist of thr village. In Day3- In the morning we had our breakfast outside in the open. It was a beautiful experience & the food on all days & times during our visit was so so tasty. The young chef is really talented & made food which had taste of its special ingredients. The chef was all hearts in his work which really showed when the food was presented before us. It tasted so divine, still getting a watery mouth thinking about it now from the simplest dal to the most fancy desserts to the delicacy of laal maas. Food was top top notch in every sense. In the evening Abhiraj took us for the desert safari. Iv been to many safari’s in dubai & Egypt but this one was totally personalised amd a very heartwarming experience . It started with dune bashing with sights of local animals like deer, wild rabbits, peacocks, wild fox & many unique beautiful birds. Then we did camel ride, the option & luxury of a camel cart was also there. Just when the sunset was happening, Suddenly we reached a sand dune top & to our surprise found a full private layout with a lit bonfire & a full bar on jeep’s bonet was presented to us by abhiraj. This was an enchanting experience in the middle of a desert. Day4- we visited the natural salt mines in the morning & then had the full day to relax in/around the property. The musical show of rajathani folk music was arranged followed by a dinner under the stars. I can just go on & on with what beautiful experiences & memories we made here at this property by abhiraj. One has to visit it to actually believe it. We’ve promised ourselves to visit here every year without fail to just pamper ourselves & experience the beauty & service of this property. We really thank Abhiraj, hari ji & the entire team of dera dune to have us experience this place & magic of their services.…

We stayed at Dera Dune for 4 nights in December and there couldn't have been a better, more bespoke and relaxing way to have ended the year. The GM, Abhiraj was available from the time of our prelim booking until we reached and throughout the trip his attention to detail and warmth of hospitality has spoilt us for choice. We booked the full board experience with the experiences and they were spellbinding. The location in itself is offbeat, away from the commercial holiday mode and makes you feel completely at ease. We had a curated lunch in the middle of the dessert, a little tea amidst the salt pans, a crackling fire every night and exceptional home style food. Must thank the lovely staff of Pintu, PubG, Hari, Pukhraj and others in the backend as well.

It was just a bit of luck for us to find this place. Another place had cancelled our booking and thus we booked here last minute - as a place to rest on our way from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. All I can say, that the place is brilliant - a beautiful resort located on a slight elevation. It has amazing views, great and spacious rooms and quite a good food. What stands out for the place are 2 things - (1) the service and always willing to help and make your life easier folks who manage the place and (2) the excursions that they organize for the guests - especially the visit to some local mud houses, the camel cart ride, the salt pans and the visit to Keechan bird sanctuary. Abhiraj and Ajith take a lot of pains to ensure that the stay is memorable. Pinto makes sure that you get your food on time. Dont remember the name of the other folks, but each one of them were amazingly committed. Couple of tips as one plans for this place (1) Do keep 15-20 minutes just to spend time at the Jamba temple. It looked beautiful from outside, especially with the lake. We couldn't as we were in a hurry and just spent 5 minutes. You may need to arrange for permission to go inside, which Abhiraj should be able to manage. (2) Discuss the route that you would be taking to the hotel with Abhiraj before hand. The place maybe a little difficult to find and Abhiraj and Ajith help in sending escorts to a landmark (typically the Jamba temple).…
