Staying at Om Desert Resort was an excellent experience. While the name of the resort had initially given us some apprehensions as to whether this is run by some religious group, during the stay at the resort we felt that this is a place that truly attempts to allow guests to experience Om in its true meaning (the original vibration of the universe), as it gives a very unique way to experience different faces of nature, including beautiful sunrise and sunset in a truly relaxed and beautiful desert environment. The tent we got was beautifully designed and very clean. Unlike many other camps we saw on the way, there was sufficient space between tents. We could also park our car just in front of our tent (this is of great convenience during camping!). From the time of check in to check out, all the staff were very helpful. I need to particularly thank Mr Yatender, the caretaker of the resort, for being so attentive to the needs of all guests. Camel safari was not included in our online booking and the resort arranged it at a reasonable price (Rs. 500 for 2 people). The cultural programme they organised in the evening was also very good, and this was inspite of the fact that they had only 50% occupancy in the night we stayed. The food provided was also excellent. We were traveling with a small kid and they also ensured that the dietary requirements of the kid were met, as per our requests. Overall, I would recommend Om desert resort to everyone, as it was an excellent experience at a reasonable price.

This was the 1st experience for me and my friends when we stayed a 🌃 night in desert camp. And that time we didn't knew that this was going to be unforgettable moments for us.I hv no words to explain how much we enjoyed that night, specially when you expecting such type of wonderful feeling for that time and you got the same.Infact more than your expectation. The service was excellent, dealing of staff shown their expertise, food quality, buffet and the most important they decorated the whole camp area just like a groom and all these things was in your budget.
Specially thanks to Virender Bhai Sahab for their heart touching friendly nature and homely feeling.

In short Dosto you should at least visit once in your life to feel this splendid night by yourself.

Thanks a lot !!!

Regards
Amit Sharma

Om Desert Resort is located near to Sam Sand dunes. This resort has marvelous entrance. Let's talk about stay the tents were clean, hygienic and spacious. The hospitality of the staff is amazing and their food service is great with yummy and delicious food. Hot water is available in the 24 *7 .

Camel safari is a must do activity to witness the sunsets in the desert. Their cultural program is quite entertaining and the folks did a pretty well job in the evening.

I guess till date all those who have written reviews on Om Desert Camp Resort, are either less travelled or are too enthusiastic to write their first or second review on Tripadvisor.
I had booked this resort through V Resorts who have their terms and conditions framed in a very dicey way. So just be a bit careful.
I stayed here on 30th and 31st Dec 2017 and have a very mixed feeling about this resort.
Speaking about the cons
1) It is located way too much in the interiors and the access road is very very bad. We saw all along the road so many tent camps and this one seems to be right at the very end.
2) The breakfast, the food is far from desirable. The menu remains the same everyday. The choices of items is very very limited.
3) They charged me a bomb for the 31st night, which I felt was a sheer waste of money.
4) The so called cultural programs and the artists are far too ordinary. And the same artists and programs are repeated every evening.
5) So be it 30th night for which I paid Rs. 6000/- or 31st night for which they charged me Rs. 21,000/-, there was no distinguishing factor except for the fireworks on 31st night.
Now the few pros
1) The tent room is quite decent and comfortable (for a couple stay) and even the toilets and bathrooms are very well maintained which you can see in some of the pics. The geyser was working so hot/cold running water was never a problem.
2) The service staff is quite co-operative although the managing staff was quite rude.
3) It is a one time experience which all should try out.

There are many of these tent resorts (maybe around 50 in a radius of 3 kms) in Sam which is about 35-40 kms from Jaisalmer, so pls look out for better options.
Never to book on days such as 31st Dec night or some major public holiday as it will be a major let down.

Hence I write a very mixed feeling !

I checked with the resort. Mr Vijendra Singh said their kitchen as only pure vegeterian food, but they can arrange non vegeterian food if needed.
