Splendid serendipity led us to stay at Hotel Victoria , Jaisalmer. The accommodation turned out to be real gem . A heritage pure vegetarian ( not even onions ) boutique hotel houses within the iconic “ living fort “ of Jaisalmer; it’s an experience in it itself . The rooms are in the ramparts done up in eclectic mix of traditional Rajasthani style . The rooms are housed in the ramparts and have commanding views of the city . The cherry on the cake is the terrace which serves as the perfect viewpoint for the most spectacular sunsets . A true treat especially if you want a sundowner. The location of the hotels enable you to actually experience life in the fort and provide glimpses of a bygone era . There are lot of must visit spots within walking distance and the whole area is very safe to wander around even if you’re not familiar . The locals are helpful and friendly. The hotel has a no restaurant but a small in house kitchen which provides all meals , simple but clean , fresh meals served at request . In addition the extremely helpful staff helps with any additional requirements, be it procuring food , beverages, transport and other sundry requirements. In the evening you can also enjoy traditional music to accompany and liven up your dinner. The owner manager Pankaj was extremely solicitous and helpful as was Naveen the person in charge at the premises who smilingly, quietly ensured our visit was smooth making sure all arrangements were done be it early morning packed breakfast , medicines or transport for local sightseeing. The room rates are dynamic as per season but overall well worth it . Definitely recommend staying at this gem of a hotel.

Can't express how amazing was the stay we had in Victoria..!!! Right from booking till we reached Jodhpur we had a super super experience.. We just didnt find a great resort but we became like family.. Mr. Pankaj the owner, his mummy, papa, elder brother made sure everyday we feel like at home. Every small requirement asked was fulfilled..Once u enter the hotel u can feel the positive vibes fr sure..lovely ambience.. Breakfast was amazing..(its freshly prepared..) And so is the food. Hot water was available throughout.. All staff are properly trained and are the best guys to Look after all our needs.. Proper guidance about travels, the city, the people, travel, sight seeing, every little thing was shared like a brother to me by Mr. Pankaj Purohit...He even upgraded our rooms... The Deluxe rooms have a mesmerising view.. The roof top terrace is something u will Love to see once u r In the hotel..Auntyji even presented me and my wife on Valentine with a lovely bouquet !! I can go on and on to speak about Victoria and the owners...But I should definitely say, if u r In Jaisalmer u need to be in Victoria..nothing better than Victoria... Its Excellent.. Very warm and welcoming stay with so much care and hospitality by Pankaj & family. The place was once in a lifetime experience on top of the fort with such an awesome views and the rooms are very cozy and quaint. Very well done interior and facilities. The highlight was the small balcony traditional set up to sit out and enjoy the views and chilly December breeze with warm food. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the service was top notch.
