This part royal residence, part museum and part hotel is is superbly located at the foot of the fort and beside the local markets. Our room was large, well appointed with a view of the fort. The breakfast was basic but adequate. The swimming pool was enjoyed but it is the grounds, the museum and that fact there is only...

We stayed here 2 nights in a absolutely gorgeous heritage room, decorated with antiques, but with all the modern amenities needed. The room was very large and the king bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely view of a courtyard. The pool was a lovely feature too. Breakfasts were delicious here with many choices offered at the buffet, as...

Partially hotel and partially royal family residence, the Mandir is a fine place to stay. It's imperfections lie in the lack of a social gathering place, claustrophobic reception area and barely average food. None of these should discourage you from enjoying the incredibly rich architecture, the ample rooms, the exquisite carved stone facades and the protected tranquility just off a...

Very good hotel, near the fort. The place is big with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. Big room too with a fridge, which is not so common according to the hotel we did in India. I recommend this place.

It was a 1st time ever experience for me of staying in a palace where the King also stays. It was a lovely property which people visit as a tourist point. The rooms had the heritage touch. Food was ok sort though.

The Mandir Place is a stunningly beautiful Havali set back from the main square. This has to rate as one of the top Haveli in India. Peaceful oasis, heritage furniture and buildings kept in magnificent condition. Beautiful gardens and lovely swimming pool. The rooms are large, very well decorated and immaculately clean. Breakfast is held in doors because of the...

We stayed 3 nights at the Mandir Palace Hotel. The first night the rooms (2) were a little disappointing (rooms need updating) and our agent negotiated with the manager, Mr Bhojraj Singh, to upgrade us to a Surya Mahal Suite and the Golden Suites. These were far more comfortable and we thank Mr Singh for his patience. We had breakfast...

Dear Sir We thankyou for your stay at the Palace Hotel. The Palace is centrally located and famous in Jaisalmer for its architecture. It was very surprising that you did not let anyone know at the hotel if you did not like your room even after several interactions with myself. All our rooms are tastefully furnished and in line with...

The hotel is part of a palace with the rest of the property being a museum. The rooms are decorated in modern style which is very nice and the bathrooms are excellent in terms of fittings and toiletries. The choice for breakfast is also decent. The hotel is centrally located and close to the main market and several restaurants. The...

I am very pleased to learn that you had a comfortable stay at the Mandir Palace. The property is a heritage Palace converted into a hotel and still the living home of Maharaj Hukam Singh Ji and his family who are from the royal family of Jaisalmer. We appreciate your comments about the Palace hotel and request you to book...

Stayed there for a day. The hotel is actually a palace where on one side the Raja of Jaisalmer resides. It has 2 museums inside the hotel. Nice architecture and rooftop view of Jaisalmer fort. Located centrally to all main attractions nearby. Overall a very nice experience at the hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A two centuries old palace converted into a hotel, WelcomHeritage Mandir Palace offers a concoction of medieval charm with the modern amenities. The main portion of the two centuries old Palace was built during the reign of the late Maharawal Jawahir Singh. This palace is testimony to the history of Jaisalmer with different portions of the palace being built by different rulers of Jaisalmer till as late as the beginning of the twentieth century. ‘Badal Vilas’, a unique tower like structure at Mandir Palace is the tallest structure in town below the hill-top city fort, reminding us of the incredible historical relevance attached to both the palace as well as the city of Jaisalmer. ... more   less
