Garh Jaisal (not to be confused with Jaisal Garh) is a beautiful boutique styled heritage haveli within the fort. All the locals in Jaisalmer agree that G.J is easily the best property within the fort and with good reason.
The rooms are tastefully done and all provide view of the fort walls. We stayed in the Scarlet Room and could see the fort walls easily. No room is same as the other and that's what makes the property unique.
Little touches like, complementary water bottles, anti skid mats in the shower area, nicely packed toiletries kit, hairdryers in all rooms and iron on request tell you the amount of detail and thought that has gone in.
The roof top has a view to die for and we spent an entire evening and night sitting there. The roof top has a magnificent view of the fort, city and the Raja Palace.
But the one thing that made the biggest impact were the staff. Led by Aniket, the team at G.J are gems. Aniket is extremely humble and takes pride and ownership in working at the property. He was nice enough to give us a tour of the property even when we didn't ask.
He was helpful and helped us with planning of our itinerary.
The food at the roof top restaurant is very fresh and really good. They prepare everything on order and can even manage some things which may not be on the menu. We were planning on going out for dinner but made the great decision of staying in and eating at the restaurant. The Ker sangri and Bajra roti was really well prepared.
I wish the property and everyone there best of luck.

Garh Jaisal is tops. situated on one of the highest points of the golden Jaisalmer Fort, this beautiful old haveli is the perfect place to stay. each nicely decorated room is different and my favourite, the Green Room is done in tones of olive green - a nice contrast with the gold sandstone.
Beautiful old brassware and antique textiles decorate the richly carved stone panels making it a delight to walk though on the way to the piece de resistance - - the upper terrace.
It is easy to while away hours sitting in one of the stone seats with Jaisalmer city scattered far below. In fact Mick Jagger visited twice, spending four hours sipping lemon tea and gazing at the beautiful views stretching to the Thar desert.
Breakfast is sublime with the cool morning air enlivening the senses while we sipped on chai and a host of delicious Indian dishes as well as the mandatory eggs.
Dinner is just as pleasurable, or a late afternoon tea or sunset cocktails. Food is good and we are looked after by the diminutive Mr Shankar who serves every dish with a smile.
It really enhanced our stay in this magical city

My stay at Garh Jaisal Haveli was without any doubt absolutely impeccable. I was in Jaisalmer for work and I stayed in this hotel for 45 days, so I was looking for a place that could make me feel home. Everything went beyond expectations: the heritage building is situated in a quiet area inside Jaisalmer fort, it is in perfect conditions and its architecture gives a warming feeling to the guests; the rooms are all spacious and with a great view on the city, and despite the heat the temperature inside the rooms has always been very much bearable, also with the help of fan and AC. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop with possibly the best view of Jaisalmer city and surroundings; during my stay there I observed that there were regularly guides taking tourists to Garh Jaisal's rooftop to admire Jaisalmer from above... The hotel's restaurant is on the rooftop itself, and it was a pleasure to eat my meals with a view of the city, especially at night time. Food is another reason why I would suggest this hotel to everyone: every dish has a homemade taste that is honestly quite hard to find in other restaurants, thank you so much for your cooking Purshottam ji, as they say in India, great taste in your hands. The staff of Garh Jaisal is very friendly and helpful, always respecting the privacy and space of guests but also always ready for some pleasant talk, and they contribute in creating an overall peaceful and relaxed vibe. I especially appreciated their availability as well as their professionalism, so thank you Anit, Shankar, Purshottam and Ramanand for your great hospitality.

This is undoubtedly the best hotel in Jaisalmer Fort. The management is extremely helpful. They don't think twice to make sure the stay of every single guest is unforgettable in their property. They gave us a complimentary upgrade upon realising that ours was a honeymoon trip. Every single room is unique in itself. Our room offered a mesmerizing view of the city/sunrise. The decor, amenities and architecture is enough to give a lasting impression to anyone. One can neither complain about the quality and quantity of the food served here with the added facility of customisation according to ones needs. My wife was recovering from jaundice and hence it was required for her to maintain a proper diet. The food was prepared just as requested by us and non of us had any complains.
Right from offering early check-in, to arranging rentals for exploring the city to accommodation. It was a stay to remember. Will be returning soon.

Location. Location. Location. Hotel Garh Jaisal easily has the best location inside Jaisalmer Fort. The views from the tastefully done up rooms and roof top restaurant are mindblowingly spectacular. Add to it a team which goes out of its way to ensure its guests' comfort and delicious meals, the Hotel Garh Jaisal is what dream holidays are made of. I am so glad I chose to stay here and I hope I get to go back!

A beautiful, authentic stay inside the Fort Jaisalmer, fabulous design and an unbeatable location.

This is a place to keep coming back to. Laid back, intimate and very comfortable. The rooms, all uniquely designed, show case Rajasthan aesthetic beautifully. The hand carved wooden beds are heaven as well as the piping hot water in the power shower. The staff are friendly and super helpful. Thank you to all who made my stay so memorable. It is unbelievably good value and has hosted celebrities such as Mick Jagger and Helena Christensen.

We stayed at Garh Jaisal Haveli, Jaisalmer in July and we had a truly wonderful stay! We stayed in a Opium room , which was the perfect size and had lots of storage which really helped give us space.

We knew what to expect from Garh Jaisal haveli having stayed at Jaisalmer in the 2018, and overall, Garh Jaisal didn't disappoint - beautiful decor and, excellent restaurants with a good choice of food and all without that typical 'all inclusive' feel. The terrace bar is spacious and lovely to sit in.

What really made this hotel and our stay so special for us though was the staff and the nightly view to the the Palace, city and Sunrise from the terrace. The hotel staff are just beyond brilliant and an absolute asset to Garh Jaisal Haveli. The staff were always polite and engaging and we met some absolute gems in reception manager Anit and Tarun (owner) whom you can only find on the screens to answer any query who just made our stay so special and well deserved of any recognition they receive for doing such a fantastic job.

The Desert tour which they organised and every single one of the team of Jeep driver, camel man and the cheff, were nothing short of outstanding. All hugely talented, clearly highly professionally trained and they completely wowed us under sleeping under the star night, offering real variety to satisfy every guests tastes with non spicy authentic Indian food. Not only that, but they all showed a real, genuine passion for what they do and made time to speak to guests and engage with the younger guests.

So - all in all, we had just a brilliant stay and we were just so sad to leave and say goodbye to such awesome people! We have already booked to return to Garh Jaisal haveli Jaisalmer next year and we hope it will be just as memorable.

Tip: Reach out directly and make sure you book everything in advance with proper arrangements, they would be happy to clear any queries or doubts you have.

Hotel Garh was the cherry on the top of our trip to Jaisalmer. The team took great care of all our needs starting from transportation from/to the airport, to delicious local food on their rooftop terrace. We ended up eating at their restaurant every evening during our 4 nights stay. Both our room and the terrace offered an amazing, unbeatable view over the city and the fort. The interior of the hotel is also truly special, tastefully decorated in typical haveli style.

I spent many nights at the Boutique Hotel while on business trips in Jaisalmer. It is a unique place where you can disconnect from work and enjoy a peaceful and luxury environment that makes you feeling at home and pampered. Rooms are comfortable, breakfasts are delicious, and environment gorgeous with view of sunrise, sunset, palace, havelis, lake and old Jaisalmer city. Staff and owners are kind and helpful at any time. Wifi works well for the late evening emails, city center and havis are at walking distance. Finally, I brought my family in for a week-end just because I loved the place.

This haveli hotel was the best in our 15 days Rajasthan trip. Everything was arranged in a perfect way either it's train/bus tickets, Desert safari or half day guide tour.

Everything just arranged via the whats app.

This haveli is nearly 800years old. Rooms are beautiful with amazing view of the city and sunrise.Everything is preserved with great care. They have mention they do not have tv/telephone in the rooms which we didn't noticed and that we never needed one.
The energy within the haveli is completely different which take you back in time.

They use the incense at the courtyard which makes you feel fresh once you enter your the hotel. They will always welcome you with charm smile, we really felt at home and will come back in future for a longer stay.

They even welcome touist who are not staying with them.

Thanks to Tarun, Anit (the manager) and his team.
