Hotel Fifu is run by Om Prakash Kewaliya (known by his friends as Fifu) and his family, with the help of a team of dedicated staff. Established in 1999, the hotel is styled on an ornate, traditional Haveli with stunning views of Jaisalmer’s ancient fort. Tucked in a quiet corner, just outside of the city centre, Hotel Fifu offers a quiet kind of luxury. Fifu was born in Jaisalmer and has been working in the tourism industry for over 20 years. In 1996, Fifu started his camel safari business, which still continues today. In 1999, Hotel Fifu was built from Fifu’s own original design. Using traditional methods and the help of the local community, the building was constructed in 3 years, with additional rooms added until it’s completion in 2006. Fifu is a graduate in economics and accountancy. He speaks Hindi, fluent English, German, Spanish and French, and is married with two children.

We stayed here 2 nights in a double room. The rooms are comfortable, the service is excellent and there is a great view of the fort from the top terrace. The owner was was very kind and knowledgeable and directed us to good restaurants and places to see. We also did a night in their safari camp- again, the service was great and the whole family had fun. We highly enjoyed our stay here.

Although i do not know other places in Jaisalmer i can say that we really enjoyed our three days at this premise. The owner is a simple but very sympathic guy, the service staff is unpretentious and not urging you for anything. In this context goes a warm feedback to Misri in the rooftop restaurant who tried to accomodate us in the best way possible. The rooms are not too big but are all nicely decorated and charming. The market area can be easily reached by a 10+ min walk depending where you are heading for. All together a nice and unforgettable stay.

A fabulous hotel with clean, comfortable and lovely decorated rooms. The hotel actually looks like the photos. All the staff and the owner Fifu are very friendly and hospitable and went out of their way to help us and ensure we had a wonderful stay. We felt very welcome here and it was easily the best place we stayed on our Ragasthan trip. The rooftop restaurant has delicious food and a fantastic view. A great place to relax and unwind after sightseeing. Highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it. Thank you Hotel Fifu!

We absolutely loved Hotel Fifu and would definitely plan to return. Sometimes with hotels in India what you see on the website is not what you find when you get there. That's not the case at Fifu. The rooms are every bit as beautiful as the photos and the view is phenomenal. This isn't one of those hotels where you only get the view if you stand in one place and lean precariously over a balcony. The view is BIG and spectacular. We spent most of our time in the hotel. I had work to do and some studies to complete and so we hung out on the shady roof area for a lot of the time. I booked outside the fort because I'd been warned that wifi coverage inside might be a bit wobbly - I had no problems at all, including several long Zoom calls, one of them nearly 4 hours long. We booked a suite - we wanted a bit more space and to not have to sit on the bed all the time. It was spacious and beautiful with lovely views. But my favourite place was on the roof terrace where we were really well looked after by the lovely staff. The terrace gets fabulous breezes so it's never too hot and you can choose a shady or a sunny spot. Many of the staff speak excellent English and I believe several other languages as well. Mr Fifu and his son are great hosts. And the food is wonderful. I recommend it highly. The

We stayed a few days in Fifu Jaisalmer. A tranquil place to feel at home. Our room had beautiful lightning that made it very special. The furniture is also tipical Indian. Situated on the rooftop is the restaurant. We had some lovely diners there with a view on the fort. Last but not least we met there the very polite and friendly owner and staf. Next time we absolute choose for Fifu.

The owner, Mr.Fifu is amazingly helpful person. Before traveling I asked some questions through whatsapp, I got super quick and polite response! My stay was so pleasant, hotel staff kindly delivered breakfast to my room every morning as outside was cold. I liked their masala chai, nice omlette, and tasty lemon and sugar crape. Please try their thali dish also, you will find their foods are not only reasonable but also sooo tasty... We also enjoyed village safari, camel riding, camping and sightseeing tour. All tours are fabulous, especially in the village I had wonderful and valuable experiences.. not at all touristic place and will see the real life with shining smiles over there, you should try once and surely you will like it. Thank you so much Mr.Fifu and all professional staff, surely we will be back to you and also looking forward to your new hotel also!!

Readers, I will be honest - if you are expecting some out of the world rooms, your hearts will break. But since you are in Jaisalmer (looking by most of the properties here), this would be eaily rated as its rated right now - Excellent basis the hospitality and the food. Its and old property (their new property is started and is right next to Fifu, big spacious rooms) but superbly kept and maintained. Location, at your first sight you might feel is little off but is very near to the fort and main market. So we reached here in the evening, without much delay room was provided. It was little small for 3 so we got upgraded to the suite room on the next day - the room was spacious, clean and super comfy, all amenities in place etc etc. Staff was very very helpful and hospitable and with smile on their faces. FO manager, Bhoma Ji (sorry if incorrect) was very kind and was always ready to help. Rooftop restaurant was super cool, simple seating but an excellent view. Food here was homely and freshly made, less of spices and delicious. Special thanks to MishriLal for taking good care of us, served us with utmost courtsey and smile on his face. Helped us connect with a rikshaw driver Aly, who helped us take complete tour of the city including the Golden Fort and all the beautiful Havelis and market. Made our stay and trip memorable and city navigation smooth. Dint get chance to speak to the owner there- Mr. Fifu of whom have heard a lot about but people at Fifu are the real Heroes. Overall a very good stay and would recommend to all visiting Jaisalmer to experience a good homely and comfy stay @ Fifu.

My favorite place to stay in Jaisalmer. A short walk from the fort, with wonderful rooms. Clean and comfortable with high standards and great food. There’s an incredible view of the fort from the rooftop restaurant and at the end of the road you can walk through the desert to Gadisar Lake if you want to have a peaceful desert experience. We spent the first day at the fort walking around and went to the Palace Museum and the Jain Temples (open till noon only), Desert Boy for lunch with overlooks the fort, and then back to Fifu for a wonderful dinner. The next day we walked just outside the fort to Gopa Chowk to see some of the old Haveli’s. You can go inside and see how people lived many years ago, and then stop for some sweets at a famous sweet shop. We had an early dinner at Trio and then to the Desert Cultural Centre to see the puppet show which is great for kids or adults. The next day we went to Gadisar Lake for a boat ride, did some shopping and had really incredible Dal Bati Churma at Desert Boy Dhani. But the highlight of our trip was the desert tour that Fifu arranged…which was incredible! We went for a ride to the desert stopping at the Kuldhara abandoned village, a lake, and Khaba fort. Driving through the empty desert was so beautiful and we passed many villages and farms..saw camels, goats, sheep, desi cows, and little temples. Afterwards, to his desert camp where we rode camels a short way into the dunes to see the sunset and then back to a big tented camp for the cultural show…sitting around a campfire, with music, dancing and dinner. The tents were well appointed…Our tent had the most comfortable king size bed! great hot water, and all amenities, and was impeccibly clean. Also AC and a heater if you needed it. I had the best sleep I’ve had in 10 years! We got up at 7:00am and walked to the dunes by the camp to see the sunrise and took lots of pictures and then went for breakfast. It was really quiet with no crowds and all the staff was accomodating and took care of us well. There is lots to do in Jaisalmer and you can easily stay a week or more. I’ve stayed a few places in Jaisalmer, but Fifu’s is always my favorite.
