Zawahar Palace Musuem. Right in the heart of the Golden City, Jaisalmer! Seemed a must visit place from outset and from inside it's decent but not as spectacular as I had imagined.

this is a hotel which looks like palace. This is a little old fashioned palace with no new architecture in it.
service is fine and cleaniiness is average. sunset view is adorable .
it is near the main market of jaisalmer, also the fort.

This hotel is in a beautiful building very close to the entrace to the city of Jaisalmer. It has a view of the fort. Rooms are big and comfortable but they have a plumbing problem. We had 2 rooms and in both the toilets didn´t flush properly. In the shower sometimes water came out, sometimes it didn´t. Hot water was also a problem. The breakfast buffet was lacking... hard-boiled eggs, cornflakes, leftover Indian food from the previous night. Dinner was mediocre. Avoid the Chinese dishes.

Despite many bad reviews on tripadvisor, we chose to stay at this property for many reasons- location, heritage, lots of open area and great value. We decided to check out the property ourselves and found that location of property is excellent - close to the city in quiet part- fort is just 5 minute drive!! Most resorts in jaiselmer had similar look with same color and architecture but this one was different-heritage! the building is more than 100 years old -originally a guest house of maharaja of jaislemer. The rooms we stayed were part of original building on top floor - suites! some part of the hotel have been added few years back. The size of suite was bigger than the ones in other hotels.

although one can't say that upkeep of the property is at par with other property in its league, but we did not encounter any issues as such - especially in the room or lobby area. yes, the hotel can certainly improve the maintenance and landscaping of the open area in front of the hotel.

The staff was very helpful, courteous.Never did we come across any issues on complying with any requests at any time! The manager was very helpful and forthcoming with suggestions.

The hotel had great view of fort from rooftop ;they have placed tables and chairs to enjoy the view. also, there are many places in the hotel where one can enjoy tea and snacks in the outdoor as they have arranged seating in these places. The kids can enjoy watching horse on ground on right side of hotel. These are owned by the royal family.

The pool was not functional due to winter season. The hotel lobby did have wifi facility.

while we did enjoy our stay and found the value to be excellent,we have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. we recommend this place for heritage lovers and those seeking peace. Demanding travelers need to look elsewhere, as most heritage properties (barring the ones in top end) do have some limitations and are not at par with modern hotels which are better equipped.

Jawahar niwas is a heritage hotel... but we were disappointed with the hotel.. the rooms are spacious but not well maintained at all... there was no buffet bbreakfast. One day, the breakfast was aloo paratha and boiled eggs.. the other day it was upma and boiled eggs... one would expect some variety at least if not a good spread.. the hotel is at a good location but that does not make up for the quality. it also has a major mosquito problem...couldnt sleep thru the night! i would rate it a 2 star, not more, not worth the 4 star price at all!!! wouldnt recommend it to my friends at all.

Heard from a friend today that the hotel refused entry to an Indian national in the hotel. This is setting a very bad example for the Indian hotel trade, to not allow your own people in the hotel. Reminiscent of South Africa under apartheid! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Clean room lovers do not book jawahar niwas palace. Lack of enough and professional staff. This hotel is belongs to king but not star category hotel. It's like guest house. There are much better hotels with less tariff. In this tariff you got luxury hotel in jaisalmer.

Have stayed in this hotel while travelling with a friend. It is a nice heritage hotel, the rooms are huge in size. The compound is having horses roaming around. They have a fantastic swimming pool.

As my friends wanted to have traditional Rajasthani food, hence ordered for Laal Maas, Kair Sangri and Dal Tadka. I must say that all three items that we had was the best we had till date.

I must appreciate the staff at the hotel, they are very good and looked after us very well. Must mention Mr. Dheeraj, who is absolutely a wonderful person.

Would definitely like to come back to this hotel whenever I am back in the wonderful golden city.

This place is far too dirty, far to isolated and far to neglected to be a hotel worth staying in - let alone in this price range. Shame on any of the various guides for recommending it.

After a bad hotel experience the day before we went to Jawahar Niwas Palace hotel as we wanted to relax and have a swimming pool. A big sandstone palace that stands all alone in sandy surroundings about 1 km of Jaisalmer Fort. It’s about a 500m walk to the town centre and from there you can take a tuk-tuk for Rp. 25 to the fort if you don’t want to walk.

The room was very spacious with a high ceiling, two airconditioners, clean bathroom, the furniture is dated but functional. No internet. hardly any guests!

According to the Lonely Planet Guide sthis hotel has a fabulous pool. Indeed there was a big swimming pool but the water didn’t look fresh so we didn’t swim. Very old paintless furniture around the pool, no plants, no towels, nothing. Even no people, so I don’t know what a fabulous pool should be. All in all: don’t expect something luxuriuos although the hotel looks like that from the outside. It is a mediocre hotel, that probably has known better times.
