Situated outside the fort near fort gate, Shahi Palace is a welcoming, family-run hotel, built entirely of local sandstone of Jaisalmer with classic Rajasthani decor throughout. It offers a range of comfortable, cool rooms and a relaxed rooftop terrace with magnificent views of the fort. The chilled rooftop restaurant offers a range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and is a great place to watch the sun set and meet fellow travelers.

The staff at Shahi palace is just incredible! The kindest people ever. Hemant at the reception was so helpful and caring, he helped us with transportation, camel safari, all the needs at the hotel and even helped us to get our indian sim cards super easily and cheap. The hotel is nice, simple and comfortable with typical indian decoration, a great terrace to chill and beautiful views to the fort. The staff at the restaurant was so much fun and the food was great, we ate there all the time! Khetaram and Sunil made us feel at home. At night we sat by the fire in the terrace and chat and it was great to be welcomed by them in India since we started our trip there. The 2 day desert safari we booked through the hotel was a great experience. Biki, Sunny and Sandy were our hosts and made the trip a lot of fun with their stories and chanting. It’s amazing how can they cook the tastiest meal with such simple logistics! Thank you Shahi Palace for all the love ! Namaste

Hotel Shahi Palace is really best place to stay in Jaisalmer. All rooms are decorated in old traditional stile, so you feel as you live in a past century. The owners of the hotel paid attention to every little detail to make the hotel as colorful and atmospheric as possible. But at the same time, the hotel has all the modern conveniences: normal shower, hot water, fast wifi, etc.
The hotel also has a terrace with stunning views of the fortress. The best view in the city. There is a restaurant on the terrace where you can order a variety of dishes. Very tasty food is here.
I would like to say a special thank you to the hotel owner Devi and the hotel staff. They are ready to help with every question that guests ask. Thanks to them, the stay at the hotel Shahi Palace is very comfortable. Living in a hotel you feel as comfortable as at home.
Thank you🙏
You made my visit to Jaisalmer memorable!

Hotel Shahi Palace is ideally located in Jaisalmer, close to the the Airfoce circle where buses stop, and close to the Jaisalmer fort and other attractions. You get a good view of the fort from the rooftop.

They offer desert safaris, camel treks, and overnight camping which is the best thing I've done during my stay here. The location for the safari and camping was great, with really pretty sand dunes. They provide good mattresses and blankets, so camping is comfortable. Worth it, cuz the night sky will have the most stars you'll ever see.

The hotel manager here is really kind and accommodating. Hemant helped us a lot during our stay here. Highly recommend this place if you're in Jaisalmer!

The owner of the hotel was very accommodating. They've taken customer service to next level. To start with they picked us from the stop and gave us early check-in which was not the part of the package. Once we reached he was around all the time to make sure everything was comfortable for us. The staff was equally good and polite. Food was top notch. The property was well maintained and clean. The WASHROOM was way too clean. You can see the Jaisalmer fort from their cafe.
We did dessert safari which was hosted by the hotel. The food, service, travel everything was taken care of. The food in the dessert was cooked fresh and bottled water was offered throughout.
Hemant (owner) was sweet enough to help us with the next booking for the next destination.

The hotel is a relatively new building that was designed as a semi-old traditional Rajasthani design. The rooms are large and clean. The staff is very accomodating to your needs. We had a room that was not pointing toward the fort and there was no much sun coming, so the bathroom was quite damp. The top roof restaurant has a wonderful view of the fort (Morning and night). The food service is relatively slow but fresh and very tasty. They can arrange excursions, though we went with friends that already booked with another excursion provider. We also used their laundry services which had decent price and quick turnaround.

The Shahi Palace is a really great hotel run by a very special family. We loved everything about our time there and would recommend it to everybody - if you go to Jaisalmer, stay at the Shahi hotel! They are so welcoming and helpful there, the rooms are comfortable and the rooftop restaurant is just amazing, I could have stayed there ages, drinking chai and watching the fort.
Furthermore we booked the camel safari overnight at the hotel and it was just wonderful! They care well for the camels, treat them very respectfully and the trip was well organized. It is not one of those touristy ones. Small group, local people, a sleeping place right in the sand dunes without any other people around, great food, we really loved it!
At the holi festival they even invited us to their family in the evening, we had a fire together and dinner and really nice talks - you feel that they love what they do and that they don‘t do it just because of the money! Thank you so much everyone from Shahi Palace! Hope to see you again some day!

This property offers some nice rooms which are neat and clean. One can also take palace view rooms on the 1st floor to have a view of the palace.
Owners are nice, friendly, supportive and help with travellers with local information.
There is also a rooftop restaurant which is one of better rated outlets in town and offer some good food with amazing views / experience and is reasonable priced.
If you are looking for a budget accommodation around the fort with a Rajasthani heritage experience near fort then this place will not disappoint you.

Our stay at this hotel was really pleasant. We stayed there from 13th and 14th August 2022. Here are some points that i want to share with you all.

1. They arranged for our pick-up from the station without we asking them for the same. This was such a heart-warming gesture.

2. They suggested us a better room with a wonderful fort view. We actually booked something else but we liked the room they suggested us and we took that. Price was 2.5k per night.

3. The room was cozy, traditionally decorated, fitted with AC & fans. There was TV with cable connection.

4. Bathroom was neat and clean.

5. Their rooftop restaurant offers amazing view of the fort and the ambience was amazing.

6. Food was a bit costlier but the taste was so good. Their continental dishes are delicious.

7. Every staff in the hotel starting from the owner to the driver was so friendly and supportive. Special mention to Hemant, Akshay, Sunil Mali and Jorawar Ji.

8. They gave us a city walking tour without charging anything extra.

9. They arrange the Desert safari including transportation, camel ride, dune bashing in jeep, evening snacks, dinner and cultural program at a reasonable price.

10. They also dropped us at station without charhing anything.

11. They also arrange for desert camp at non-touristic spots at Thar desert.

We are so happy that we are planning to visit them once again.

A visit to Jaisalmer must include a stay or at least breakfast, lunch & dinner at Shahi Palace! If you dreamt of visiting this enchanting city like we did, you must stay with Jora at his Palace. From the incredible rooms, to the warm and friendly service, the rooftop views, the tasty food and the personal connections you make here are unlike any other place we’ve visited in all of India! Even though we had all our tours and such organised before we arrived, Hemant (on the front desk) offered a free walking tour. Luckily for us, our guide was Jora - the owner of Shahi Palace and one of the most generous, kind, selfless & humble souls we met on our travels. His kindness brought us to our knees. I hope to one day repay him for everything he did for us. Hemant, Jora’s son on the front desk even helped organise a car ride in another city which was another highlight on our trip. Do yourself a favour and stay with our new favourite people at the Shahi Palace!! You will not regret it! Tell them Lindsay and Ben say hi!
