Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for a night, and had an early checkin (10 AM). We arrived at 6.30 AM and relaxed in the lobby and at the rooftop restaurant of the hotel. There was a spacious and clean washroom available to freshen up and breakfast was available from 7.30 AM. The rooms are beautiful and very well designed. The entire staff is helpful, courteous and hospitable. We booked a 2N/3D package directly with the hotel (contact: Maru Khan) which included one nigh at the hotel and one night at their desert camps, transportation (pickup and drop from station and airport), sightseeing (in the city and Kuldhara), breakfast, and a dinner at the desert camp.

Helsinki Desert Camp including stay at the Swiss luxury tent was really enjoyable. Tents were big and clean. Food timings were slightly delayed, but not an issue. Our one-night stay at the Helsinki Hotel too was good. Any problem regarding the room/washroom was immediately addressed. Jaisalmer local city sightseeing by Auto Rickshaw and transportation to desert camp from the hotel and back were arranged at a reasonable cost. The last mile to reach the Hotel is a dirt road, so best reach before sunset. Not sure if the hotel has permit to serve liquor. You may want to find out if you are a tippler. We were 7 of us and had a wonderful time in Jaisalmer.

Room provided was excellent with windows offering a view of the sunrise. At present, a clear view of the desert/barren land till the land's end. The roof top restaurant offers an excellent view of the Fort from a distance. Owner, Maru, was very helpful.

This is a good boutique hotel, situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is beautifully built in a haveli style. They have a terrace restaurant which offers wonderful views of the fort and the Gadisar Lake. The lake is within walking distance from the property. Rooms are spacious and warm. Maru ji and Anwar Ji are excellent hosts.

Helsinki House is a nice boutique hotel. Our first night room was a last miniute booking (booking mix up) and not amazing with maintenance needed. The room we moved to for our second night was excellant. Helsinki house hotel is a replica of the old style haveli homes and very stylish with an internal court yard. The resturant on the roof served us nice indian breakfast.

The best part about the hotel is undoubtedly the hotel management including the owner, who was ever ready to provide with all the assistance required during the stay. Highly recommend to experience a real havelli style lodging with vibrant rooms of different interiors. The rooftop restaurant had an unrestricted view of the main fort, which elevated our dinner and breafasf experience. Being at the edge of the lane, it was peaceful than all other hotels combined. They arranged the desert camp at sam sand dunes as well at their Helsinki desert camp at a reasonable rate which was all together on another level of fun. All in all, jaisalmer does have numerous hotels and havellis but what makes it worth staying at this property is the warm hospitality of the management which will make your time at the place feel like home.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with family and a 4 year old. This is a budget hotel but I'd recommend to fellow travelers. Pros: - Hotel building is well maintained and rooms are specious. Bathroom was huge with abundant space for shower. Hot water was available at all times. - Hotel and rooms were clean and we were provided kettle and tea/coffee sachets. - AC worked fine (very important as temperature soared to 37 during the day). - Bed was comfortable and was big enough to accommodate 2 adults and 1 child. - Staff is very accommodative and helpful. They helped me take a printout at their sister hotel (located 100m away). - Breakfast was included and had 3-4 options (toast, paratha, upma, etc) and was served on rooftop where we could get excellent views of the fort. Cons: - Hotel is located in the corner of a narrow lane, so getting to it by car was slightly tough, especially due to tourist season when multiple cars were around to drop/pick up tourists in nearby hotels. We however could get a dop couple of buildings earlier and walk 100m, so not a big issue.

We stayed here for 4 nights for the camel festival. The owner is lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful. Sadly the hotel was not as great as him. The beds were so noisy, there is building work going on next door and has animals at the back of the ground floor bedroom where we stayed. The food was hit and miss and the roof terrace which is a great feature needed a good clean. So hopefully these issues will be dealt with and taken on board as helpful 🙏
