Hotel Gulaal is THE BEST! The rooms are really comfy and nice, the location is great and the service is unparalleled. Service - all around the service is 10/10 but what really sets them apart is how they go above and beyond. I unfortunately left our passports and some cash in a desk drawer in our room and didn’t realize until we reached Jodhpur a 6 hour train ride away. Victor went out of his way to figure out how to get it all to me. Not 24 hours later I had my passports and all of my cash. I’m so immensely grateful to him for taking the time and urgency to get this to us. Rooms/facilities - the room we had was spacious and the bed was so soft and comfy. The Haveli courtyards are beautiful and the swimming pool is really nice. We spent way too much time in the shaded chairs by the pool jumping in whenever we needed to cool off. Location - it is outside of the fort but that worked really nicely for us. We walked 15 minutes to the fort every morning until it got hot, then took a tuktuk back to eat breakfast at the hotel. Then we’d hang out at the pool all day, then go back to the fort for golden hour, sunset and dinner. Then walk back at night. It was nice to have some separation and quietness at the hotel. Plus walking back was really fun to see the city not just the fort. Food - breakfast was included and really good. Highly recommend masala cheese omelette (masala means mixed in this case - tomato, cilantro, onion and peppers). For lunch we ordered masala papad, cheese naan and mango lassi by the pool - all delicious. We had one dinner at the hotel and shared malai kofta - it was just OK compared to other malai kofta we have had. Overall highly recommend this hotel for your trip to Jaisalmer!

I visited gulaal for the 2nd time in jan 23 with my wife and 6 yr old daughter. It was as spectacular as it was last time. The rooms and common areas looked extraordinarily clean and well maintained. Our room was very spacious and had all the required amenities. The view of the fort from the roof top restaurant is to die for, extremely mesmerizing. Plus what to say about the host ..no matter how much I write about him ..it will be less . Very passionate owners. They are very helpful and guided us for shopping to dunes. Overall we had an amazing holiday in Jaisalmer at gulaal.

Gulaal is a beautiful place tucked in a quiet corner around a couple of kilometres from the railway station. The hospitality of the staff is wonderful. We had booked a suite for three nights. Hotel Manager Veerendra Singh is a lively gentleman who gave us a plan for our stay. He arranged the desert safari and trip to the border for us. Raju was there to serve sumptuous food every time we went up to the cafe. The food was very tasty. We tried authentic Rajasthan food and enjoyed it very much. The suite room was beautifully done with all amenities. If you are looking for a luxurious stay with great food and homely staff, Gulaal is the place!

A lovely hotel away from the bustle of Jaisalmer town. The atmosphere is like being in someone’s old house, with lovely artifacts and spacious rooms. The food was lovely and served on the roof terrace, with a view of the fort lit up at night. I enjoyed the swimming pool after a hot day of sightseeing. The hotel is tucked away, but within walking distance of the fort. It’s easy to get a tuk tuk outside .

What can I say this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in on my holiday to Rajasthan. The welcome was warm and Babu immediately told us that we should think of the hotel as home. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. We had all our meals at the restaurant, breakfast was made to order and was plentiful and fresh. This hotel serves the most delicious vegetarian food on its roof top restaurant with amazing views of the fort. The Gulaal doesn’t serve alcohol but you are welcome to drink your own wine in the room, Mr Babu was more than happy to go out and buy us some wine and beer. And he provided glasses and ice. Staying here was a wonderful experience and I truly recommend it

Charming hotel that looks old but is fairly new and totally modern in all ways. Large bedroom, great rooftop restaurant for breakfast and other meals that has an outstanding view to the Fort. Very nice and helpful staff. Only issue is that alcohol is not available; most hotels like this have it. Convenient location.

A decided unpromising location is a poor indication of what lies beyond the doors of this superb hotel. The manager owner brothers are delightful and keen to explain the concept of the design down to the last details of carving. Our downstairs room overlooked the garden and pool and was superbly appointed. The pool was a haven to retire to after a day's sightseeing with ample loungers and towels for any who braved the coolish water. The restaurant is on the top floor and affords a quite stunning view of the city. The the breakfasts were prepared with care and served with grace and kindness. We felt thoroughly indulged and were reluctant to move on.
