We recently stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Gulaal in their deluxe room. We decided this placed just based on exceptionally good reviews and can vouch that this place is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. 1) Great Location : This place is at walkable distance from fort /market but little away from hustle bustle of market , hence quiet peaceful. From their rooftop restaurant, you get amazing view of fort. Only thing is entrance road to the hotel is bit ok but that can be totally ignored after seeing the property 2) Rooms : Rooms are big, very well made , good decor and entire property is extremely clean. They have nice Indian seating in each room by the window. Entire staff is taking good precautions for COVID and it is well sanitized. We got a chance to have a look at their luxury suite rooms and they are simply superb - especially fort view room. 3) Hospitality : Mr. Virendra Singh and his entire team took very good care of us thus making us feel at home. Hotel looks like Grand Haveli having those antique touch and provides all luxury amenities. Entire staff is extremely courteous and helpful. 4) Food : Mr. Babu and his team manages restaurant area very well. Breakfast is ala carte and they prepare as per what we want. Everything is freshly prepared and food was amazing, especially Daal Baati. Loved having meals at their rooftop restaurant. They also have enclosed restaurant at rooftop where you can still enjoy good view and feel little cosy during winter. Recommend stay at this place if you are visiting jaisalmer.

This Hotel is little away from the city which allows you have quality time with family. Service and staff are above excellent, front desk staff Babu extended best of services that we needed during our stay. Owners are genuinely customer centric and are very helpful and co-operative, they are personally taking care of each customer. Rooftop Reastuarant has fabaluios view of fort while having dinner and is serving very delicious as well as quality food. Breakfast they have good choices that will let you feel accomplished. We liked foods like Pancakes, Choley Pori, Dal tadka, Cheez Masala Bread Omlet & Tandoori Wheat Roti.

It was a family trip with my parents, sister n brother in October .
The hotel surpassed our expectations!!!! We had booked the hotel after reading the reviews n surely it didn’t disappoint us .
And just like a true boutique hotel each room was unique n beautiful, aesthetically pleasing n with all the required amenities.
Prompt room service .
The rooftop restaurant offers the beautiful view of Jaisalmer Fort and serves lip smacking dishes. The food was upto the mark , each preparation delicious. We are strict vegetarians n luckily during the time of our stay the hotel kitchen was only veg:)
Mr Virendraji ( owner) makes you feel so comfortable n is always there to solve your queries. He gave us genuine inputs regarding the tourist spots n his guidance really helped us.
The desert safari arranged by the hotel was truly a memorable experience. It was in a secluded area where we could soak up the beauty of the dunes ( unlike the Sam dunes which are overcrowded )
Staff was courteous n prompt in service. Guddu bhaiya managed our food orders quite well .

It is not often that I would call a hotel stay an experience but this was one not to be missed. The place was a beautifully designed and well appointed haveli. Even the outer carved solid wooden door of our room was an object of fascination. We had a friendly welcoming party who insisted that we made ourselves at home immediately. After depositing our luggage we went to the open rooftop restaurant to enjoy the views of Jaisalmer Fort and eat light but tasty Pakora and Chana Chat snacks before going sightseeing.
It was only a 20 minute auto rickshaw ride up to the Fort with pretty barren landscape and dusty uneven roads. I certainly would not recommend strolling around the immediate hotel location.
We returned to the hotel where we enjoyed an equally tasty but relatively cheap vegetarian evening meal with soft drinks in the enclosed rooftop restaurant. The view of the fort was spectacular lit up against the dark starry night sky. Although it was quite cold and windy that January evening, and table service was a little slow, we enjoyed chatting to the hotel guests and swapping travel stories.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay run by a delightful team of staff. We had only booked the one night but would have liked to stay an extra night.

Well done Vincent and his team for such a nicely run and friendly ‘boutique’ hotel of 12 rooms.
Rooftop restaurant produces some fab dishes including ‘whole roast chicken’, ‘Tarka dhal’, ‘masala peanut salad’ and the service is excellent. Views and comfort are great.
We were in room 203 which had a lounge, sun room and practically its own terrace and steps down to the excellent pool.
Sure, you could go to one of the swanky hotels and pay 3x more for not a lot extra.
Would return.

We spent 2 nights as a family with 3 kids and had a lovely stay! Rooms are huge (the largest we had in our trip in Rajasthan!) and nicely decorated in a quiet but very safe road (away from the madness but still within walking distance to the fort). It’s a small boutique hotel with a homely feel - owner and staff are super welcoming, courteous, friendly and so helpful. We loved the food (had breakfast and dinner there twice) - very fresh and aromatic. View form the rooftop is amazing day and night when the fort is lit up. I also appreciated the tipping policy - no individual tipping but we could leave a collective tip at the end. Highly recommend it!

My wife and I stayed at this boutique hotel for 3 nights. Extremely impressed by the hospitality. Where do I start ? We were looking at a hotel with a traditional vibe close to the Fort and found this hotel through trip advisor. As we entered the hotel in the morning, we were greeted by the warm receptionist Bablu and Virendra (owner) who helped us formulate our travel itinerary and went to great detail explaining about the must see sites in the city. The room and bathroom is very spacious with a traditional haveli like interior and a room heater which was necessary for the winters. All 3 meals are freshly prepared upon order which has to be given 30 min in advance and served at the rooftop overlooking the picturesque Jaisalmer Fort. We expected oily and ghee filled dishes and was quite apprehensive about the food in Rajasthan but were happily proven wrong by the food which was authentic and made in a homely fashion. We tried out most of the yummy Rajasthani dishes and the staff were extremely warm and hospitable and made us feel very welcoming. We had also arranged a desert safari package which included a couple of historical sites, camel rides and folk dance and dinner at a camp through the hotel and came back feeling truly experienced the desert lifestyle. In summary, Gulaal truly made our Jaisalmer visit memorable !

Ahaaaa… everything about this hotel is excellent. It’s a boutique property and it’s beautiful. Although locality is not so scenic but their overwhelming hospitality made us overlook that. Menu is not vast but Food is very delicious and hygienically cooked. Overall experience left us nostalgic, wanting to spend a little more time in this beautiful property. Virendra Ji, the owner, Mr Babu, Mr Aditya and all other service staff took extra care and went an extra mile to make us feel special…. Kudos to the team…. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Jaisalmer

The Hotel Gulaal is a beautiful boutique haveli located in the heart of the Jaisalmer city. I went on a family vacation in the last week of February, 2022 and stayed in the Hotel. A beautiful, specious and comfortable stay we had. The things we specially liked were the stone art of the haveli, the view of the Sonar fort from the rooftop, beautiful and spacious rooms and the delicious food. Owners of the Hotel Sh Virendra Singh ji and Chandan Singh Ji personally look into the management of the hotel on daily basis and make sure that all guests are at ease and comfortable during the stay, which makes it class apart!
The food is super delicious and believe me, having it in the morning and at night at the rooftop with a wonderful view of the fort gives a very different feeling. Service is very good. Staff is humble and courteous. Would like to stay in Gulaal again whenever I am visiting Jaisalmer in future. It's like, I will visit Jaisalmer again just to stay in Gulaal! Highly recommended!!! Keep it up, Gulaal!

I'm not sure which market you're referring to. If it's inside the fort, we drove and it took about 10 minutes to reach the city walls.
