Tucked away inside the stupendous Jaisalmer Fort- this small boutique hotel is a perfect blend of warm personal service and the comforts of a hotel. Very tastefully designed , the views of the city stretching below are breathtaking. We stayed in the top category room and would strongly recommend it. The knowledge and hospitality of Bhanu Ji made our stay even more perfect!

Beautiful place to stay inside fort area with the privilege to enjoy the city view.
The open roof area is a nice place to soak in the winter sun and relish breakfast with hot tea
Rooms are well maintained with heritage style furniture. Mr. Bhanu, owner and his brother, guided us for the places of interests and were happy to assist to our queries. Good property to stay for couples, small family.

Stop your search - you do not need to stay anywhere else but this place. Bhanu runs this place so well with his team and will go out of his way to make you feel welcomed, safe, prepared and at home. He will make sure you get what you need, can navigate your way around the city, and can book things for you such as Camel Safari or airport taxi. The rooms are exquisite, like you are traveling back in time. Delicious food is available which you can enjoy on the roof as you watch the daily life of Jaisalmer go by. Bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable - I almost didn't feel a need to explore Jaisalmer because the whole vicinity of Killa Bhawan itself felt like its own adventure and story. Thank you so much for a fantastic time!

I stayed in Killa Bhawan in the month of November with some friends . Even though we reached so Jaisalmer at midnight the hotel staff was there to attend to us

First of all this hotel is in the Golden Fort ,which is the heart of the city and covers 50% of your Jaisalmer’s experience.
Just living in this fort will enhance your experience to the next level and to add to that ,this property his so authentic!
The way the rooms , corridors are composed with unique and traditional furniture was marvellous and the over all hygiene and cleanliness was top notch.
The breakfast on the terrace with a breathtaking view was also very well planned.
The overall staff and Bhanuji helped us out of their way whenever needed

Too good an experience!
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!

Think Jaisalmer and images of the magnificent golden sandstone fort standing like a proud sentinel come to mind. And , If you want to truly “experience “ life and history in the “ living fort “ Killa Bhavan is a perfect choice .
Beautifully appointed and maintained rooms in this boutique heritage hotel within the premises of the fort with magnificent views guarantees an unforgettable stay . The decor and hospitality is traditional Rajasthani and lives up to the spirit of “ Atitthi Devo bhava ‘“ Bhanuji , Manish the hosts at the hotel ensure that your every little requirement is attended to . A special bonus is the amazing sunrise views .
The hotel doesn’t have its own kitchen or restaurant but all meals and snacks and beverages as per choice are procured swiftly and made available. It maybe noted that this hotel permits only vegetarian fare , conforming with cultural practice within the fort as per tradition. Non vegetarian fare is available at nearby places should one desire .
The hygiene of the premises and cordiality of the staff is excellent. It would be nice if they had a kitchen for some food availability right on the premises because otherwise you have to plan ahead .
Other than that it’s definitely a place to stay and enjoy the hospitality of a bygone era in the erstwhile desert kingdom .
Definite thumbs up 👍🏼

Hello and thanks so much for your positive review. You have grasped and enjoyed all the best that Killa Bhawan can offer, specially the kindness of the people managing it. I do get your point about food & and bigger kitchen. Be assured that I'm working on the expansion of the hotel in order to have a proper and large kitchen able to propose all kind of meals. Please do come back to check it out ! It might take a little time though...... Cheers

Killa Bhawan Jaiselmer

This battlemented eyrie is perfectly situated to enjoy the many distractions of Jaiselmer. Buried within the fort, the hotel has many roof terraces, each with a stunning view down into the town, and across the fort, imposing by day, and lit by thousands of lights by night.

The Killa Bhawan is discreetly tucked away in a quiet central location. Its seven sumptuous rooms are richly decorated with embroidered bedspreads , beautiful rugs, copper ware and sculpture, all celebrating the best of local arts. The furniture is ornamented and the beds are deep, adding to the sensuality of colour and texture.

The welcome we received, even at midnight after our delayed train, was so warm and friendly: it set the tone for the rest of our stay. Bhanu, the manager and his cousin Manu, each so engaging and helpful, provided information about museums and restaurants, as well as arranging transport and desert safaris. They even provided yoga mats, and an umbrella when needed. They can recommend textile stores and jewellers that the locals use, away from the tourist trail. The handsome Nepali staff who prepare breakfast and clean the room are courteous and friendly, complimenting the tone of warm hospitality.

The delicious breakfast caters for every taste, and we would particularly recommend their ginger and lemon and honey tea. … And if you just want to sit around and soak in the sun and the sounds, they will bring you refreshments throughout the day.

We recommend this wonderful hotel as a jumping off place to explore the fort, and the wider city, as much as we would commend its quiet spaces as a gentle retreat away from the bustling city. Come and be held in the embrace of Killa Bawan.

We spent 2 nights here during the Holi festival. The location is absolutely stunning, nestling in the walls of the historic fort. The rooms are full of character, and there are a number of terraces and courtyards to sit in and enjoy the ambiance. It is a simple hotel but the WiFi is excellent, breakfasts very tasty ( one has to eat other meals out), and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. It isn’t for you if you want a modern block but it delivers the genuine Jaisalmer experience with great charm.

Spent one night in a deluxe heritage room at the start of a trip through Rajasthan. The hotel is within, and seemingly part of, the fort’s walls, with a maze of passages leading to private patios and balconies overlooking the fort and old town below. The morning view was stunning from the patio outside our room, perched high above the noises and activity of the town. The room itself had stone walls, quirky nooks, and small windows typical of the region and surrounding architecture. Two distinct areas left plenty of room for our group of three. Beds were comfy and bathroom adequate. The space heater was a bit clunky but kept us warm as the night got chilly. Breakfast (eggs, toast, fruit, juices, and tea/coffee) was brought to us on the terrace and more of everything offered several times. A perfect start to a day of exploring. The manager was friendly and helpful, as were the entire staff. Upon arrival we were escorted up through the fort’s gates to the hotel, which would have been tricky to find on our own, and hotel staff on motor bikes carried our luggage up the winding streets to meet us. Very easy and hospitable. This is a small hotel that takes care of its visitors individually. It was fun finding new intimate places throughout the property. We would very gladly return, as the town itself was fantastic as well.

Perched on top of the fort, this charming hotel affords a grand view of the palace, life on the ground, and vistas beyond. One can relax with a cup of tea or beer on the rooftop terrace and not go any further. If you must, historic attractions are within walking distance. Rooms are unique, comfortable, and well appointed. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. A Thali meal at KB Lodge is excellent fare.

i stayed at this hotel 6-9 March and i can highly recommend it. The decor was amazing the room was decorated in a very authentic way and breakfast on the terrace was special. The staff were very kind as there was a mix up at the arrival at the airport caused by poor internet at a previous hotel in Udiapur but all was sorted out and it was safe and really delightful. The staff took very good care of me and i would really recommend this hotel if u are wanting to stay in the fort and u are travelling alone. It is extremely special and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay

Hello there. thanks for asking. Jaisalmer fort is all about steep climb and steps, unfortunately for your father. Although I would love to have you with us, I'm afraid our place will not be very practical for your dad....depending on his mobility. We do have gf rooms with attached bath, but then he will have to climb to the roof-terrace to enjoy the property and the view. If you need , I can recommend alternate places. Cheers, Luca Borella, Owner
