The open roof area is a nice place to soak in the winter sun and relish breakfast with hot tea
Rooms are well maintained with heritage style furniture. Mr. Bhanu, owner and his brother, guided us for the places of interests and were happy to assist to our queries. Good property to stay for couples, small family.
First of all this hotel is in the Golden Fort ,which is the heart of the city and covers 50% of your Jaisalmer’s experience.
Just living in this fort will enhance your experience to the next level and to add to that ,this property his so authentic!
The way the rooms , corridors are composed with unique and traditional furniture was marvellous and the over all hygiene and cleanliness was top notch.
The breakfast on the terrace with a breathtaking view was also very well planned.
The overall staff and Bhanuji helped us out of their way whenever needed
Too good an experience!
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!
Beautifully appointed and maintained rooms in this boutique heritage hotel within the premises of the fort with magnificent views guarantees an unforgettable stay . The decor and hospitality is traditional Rajasthani and lives up to the spirit of “ Atitthi Devo bhava ‘“ Bhanuji , Manish the hosts at the hotel ensure that your every little requirement is attended to . A special bonus is the amazing sunrise views .
The hotel doesn’t have its own kitchen or restaurant but all meals and snacks and beverages as per choice are procured swiftly and made available. It maybe noted that this hotel permits only vegetarian fare , conforming with cultural practice within the fort as per tradition. Non vegetarian fare is available at nearby places should one desire .
The hygiene of the premises and cordiality of the staff is excellent. It would be nice if they had a kitchen for some food availability right on the premises because otherwise you have to plan ahead .
Other than that it’s definitely a place to stay and enjoy the hospitality of a bygone era in the erstwhile desert kingdom .
Definite thumbs up 👍🏼
This battlemented eyrie is perfectly situated to enjoy the many distractions of Jaiselmer. Buried within the fort, the hotel has many roof terraces, each with a stunning view down into the town, and across the fort, imposing by day, and lit by thousands of lights by night.
The Killa Bhawan is discreetly tucked away in a quiet central location. Its seven sumptuous rooms are richly decorated with embroidered bedspreads , beautiful rugs, copper ware and sculpture, all celebrating the best of local arts. The furniture is ornamented and the beds are deep, adding to the sensuality of colour and texture.
The welcome we received, even at midnight after our delayed train, was so warm and friendly: it set the tone for the rest of our stay. Bhanu, the manager and his cousin Manu, each so engaging and helpful, provided information about museums and restaurants, as well as arranging transport and desert safaris. They even provided yoga mats, and an umbrella when needed. They can recommend textile stores and jewellers that the locals use, away from the tourist trail. The handsome Nepali staff who prepare breakfast and clean the room are courteous and friendly, complimenting the tone of warm hospitality.
The delicious breakfast caters for every taste, and we would particularly recommend their ginger and lemon and honey tea. … And if you just want to sit around and soak in the sun and the sounds, they will bring you refreshments throughout the day.
We recommend this wonderful hotel as a jumping off place to explore the fort, and the wider city, as much as we would commend its quiet spaces as a gentle retreat away from the bustling city. Come and be held in the embrace of Killa Bawan.
