This once highly rated hotel is past its prime in maintainace and service. Its fantastically located, close to the Fort and city. Vast property but is on the verge of being closed down as the taj group has taken it over. I can handle an old property but I am quite upset about the level of cleanliness of the rooms and linen. Some of the staff were grumpy, others tried their best to remedy the situation. Will wait for the taj makeover surely..
Property is huge, big room so is the bathroom and closed balcony. 1. Big swimming pool 2. Big Graden 3. Big multilevel oven party place 4. Big restaurant About the service - 1. Room service staff needs more training 2. Understaffed restaurant team 3. Food, a lot more is expected in variety and taste. 4. I have a basic problem with leaky taps 5. Lights not working Overall a lot of training is required for the team and serious maintenance for the rooms
Our 2 nights stay was not very good as they took lot of time to check in and room was ordinary. Property is huge with big green flower gardens, nice swimming pool, many seating area. That’s only good thing. Now the bad points: 1. 2 small 500 ml of water was provided, when we requested for more housekeeping simply denied. 2. Rooms are old and require uplift.Bed and bathroom amenities were ok. The in room safe was already locked and even after asking for opening it, they did not bother to open it. 3. We ordered dinner in room and it was horrible, both Indian(soup, chicken biriyani, curry) and Thai(soup,Thai curry, fried rice) were all tasteless. Finger food such fish finger was also not tasty at all. 4. Breakfast spread was insufficient and not enjoyable as poha was dry. Housekeeping was lazy as after dinner, the used plates were lying outside till next morning. What a PATHETIC SERVICE. Overall, good promising property but lacks professionalism and require renovation. Will NEVER VISIT AGAIN…
Big promising property with well manicured garden but that’s it. Reception is very shabby and unwelcome type. Staffs are untrained ( except few). Room amenities are very adequate in type no wow factor. Rooms required huge renovations and upgrades. Bed linens, towels are clean. They only supply 2 half litter bottles of packaged drinking water rest are jug of RO water . Cleaning of toilet and room are very basic ( lot of hair found in toilet). Pathetic Wi-Fi . Safe available in the room but was locked. When enquired about the same they asked whether we want to use it or not and informed that only engineer sahab can open the safe and he will be available after 9:30am. After whole day when we returned to hotel at around 4pm safe was not opened ( we did not bother to try again). Hospitality is a basis’s problem. Restaurant serves all kinds of food but nothing tastes good. You will not feel like like eating again. We ordered 2 dinners one Indian and one Asian both were tasteless. We kept the used utensils outside the room in the night at around 9pm but it was not picked up next day 11am which is a turn off. We ordered one large whiskey from the bar and they served only one glass with large whiskey ( no condiments, ice , water nothing) which was costing around INR850/- for brand like teachers. Very disappointed the way they served. Overall very adequate type of hotel.…
We had a one night stop at the Gorbandh Palace, Jaisalmer. Lovely vintage ambience, at night they also had a cultural showcase of dance, puppetry and music. The food was very ethnic and large on variety. Would rate the room 10/10. We stayed at the presidential suite, very spacious and beautiful artwork put throughout the space. Very hospitable staff and proper cleanliness and sanitisation maintained.
Terrible stay at gorbandh palace. Property is huge but the rooms are out dated and needs mantainence as everything looks old and dirty. Walls have dampness, furniture is outdated not vintage old but proper old. We booked four rooms and were given rooms at the end of property. You have to walk a long pathway and stairs to get to the rooms. We had dinner in their restaurant and experienced poor hospitality. Order took around 40-50mins and partial order and its overpriced.we booked the rooms for 6k plus a night While checkout we had to beg them to load our luggage in our vehicles.only answer they will have is staff shortage. Kindly avoid this hotel in jaidalmer you ill get other good option at this price range.
Service is poor. When we entered the room there were no water bottles in the room. When we called the housekeeping we were told that extra bottles will be charged and we had to explain that the complimentary water bottles were not there. The rooms were not cleaned on the second day when we came back to the hotel and we had to call housekeeping and get the rooms cleaned at 10.30 pm at night. Overall poor service.
We stayed for 3 nights at Gorbandh Palace w.e.f. November 08 and were more than happy with our experience there. The Hotel is Spread out over a largish area with beautiful and well-maintained landscaping and it was refreshing indeed to step out into the greenery in the mornings. We enjoyed the cultural program at the Hotel lawns in the evenings. The rooms, particularly bath room could definitely do with some renovation and I understand from newspaper reports that this is already on the anvil. Breakfast at the the restaurant more than met our requirements. We cannot comment on the travel desk, since having made our own arrangements, we did not avail of their services. The standout feature of our experience there was the service we received; prompt and solution-oriented. In particular, we would like to make special mention of Mahinder from Room Service who smilingly brought our tea very early morning on all the days. Once told that we like to have our tea hot, he as also Karan from the Room Service took extra care to ensure that we got our masala tea hot and refreshing every day notwithstanding the distance of the room from the kitchen. In sum, we had an excellent experience at Gorbandh Palace.…
Rooms are very small as compared with property. Very beautiful property but the service is so bad. All service boys come in rooms and ask for teps. Everything was missing at breakfast all 3 days. Food is not bad.
