This is the first time I experienced such strong emotions during a hotel stay in a foreign country, and it involved just 2 things. The first thing was the location. The setting of this desert camp did most of the work.

At night, when you look up, you will see the onyx sky dotted with stars that can be clearly seen because you are in a desert, and because the owner and staff will turn off all the lights in the camp temporarily for your nightsky spectacle. It is also absolutely silent and for the first time as a traveler, you will wonder when was the last time you heard nothing at all and appreciated this absolute silence.

In the day, the temperatures can get extremely hot but you would not mind because of the desert activities lined up for you that are an experience of its own. If you have never done sand-bashing in a jeep before, this experience will surely be a fun one.

The accommodation itself is both luxurious and clean, with the occasional slivers of sand brought in by bare feet. And who could resist walking on the sand outside with their bare feet? It is so soft and comfortable! The plumbing is one of the newer and better ones I've used in India, and their free shampoo smells lovely.

I cannot end this review without saying something about the staff and their service. It is very courteous and attentive. They are the most helpful and accommodating people around, and they deserve all the praise. They will tailor the daily menu to the preferences of their guests despite the hotel being in the middle of a desert, and they will bring the food into your tent if you decide to laze around in the "kat" (daybed) outside the tent.

I suspect they would even set up something nice with the private seating outside the tents for a romantic dinner, if you can handle the cold. I don't know how they can endlessly put up with guest demands, but maybe the beautiful location tempers even the most impatient person.

This has been a very memorable stay for me and goes on my list of top 3 best stays.

An amazing place for desert activities! I and my friend got to this hotel through the hotel in Jaisalmer where we had our accommodation. We went for a camel ride and then for the evening with traditional dances and with dinner included.
The hotel looked very nice and quiet, and the owner was very friendly and talked to all the guests.
Camel ride at sunset was very nice and worth of a lot of pictures. I very recommend the dance performance, as it was interesting and also interactive - the dancer and also the musicians were involving people in their performances, interacting with the viewers and making it more memorable.
On the top of these activities, we have decided to also go for parasailing. The hotel members were flexible enough to call some company organizing parasailing rides, and arranging the drive to the place for us.
The whole evening was very nice, but I would appreciate dinner to be a bit earlier, as it only happened later in the evening after the dance performance. Maybe it would be better to have dinner before the dance performance, even though there were snacks served during whole evening.

We had booked 1 day stay at the desert camp. We reached early in the morning to Jaisalmer and we were taken to nearby Helsinki House for freshen up. We were allocated common restroom which was clean and we kept our luggage and left to roam around the city. Around 2.30 pm, Owner himself picked us and drove to desert camp at Sam dunes.

Best part is the location, clean room and ambience. Staff are helpful, courteous and they attend to our needs. We availed Jeep Safari, camel ride and Quad biking and it was very good experience overall. We could witenss surreal sunset. Quad biking wasn't worth the money we paid but we did not mind as it was one time experience.

Cultural program at evening was authentic traditional one and it was very good experience. Food is decent and staff accomodate your personal requests. Location is set just near Sam dunes and you can witenss a beautiful sunrise from the camp itself. For families or couples with children, this is the best place one can find. However, for enthusiastic people, this may not be the right place as camel safari and Quad biking lasted only 15 minutes and you may feel price charged for this is bit high. If you want to relax and get fair experience of everything, this is the right place for you.

We broke up our stay in Jaisalmer with a night on the desert which included the camel ride in to the dunes and so glad we chose Helsinki. After quite a bit of research we decided that this was the place for us as other resorts around Sams had a reputation for loud, noisy, young parties that would go on late into the night.
Our stay could not have been better. A warm welcome, a cosy room and a huge comfortable bed. Small details such as the quality of toiletries rounded it off nicely. The camel ride was well organised and included a pause on the dunes to watch the magical sunset. We had a camel each, unlike others who were 2 up.
Evening entertainment was fun and engaging Snacks provided and beer (large) available at INR 300 if you wanted one.
The evening meal was copious as was breakfast.
We could not have been more pleased. The family that runs this placework hard to, and are highly committed, to providing a great experience. We have no hesitation in recommending Helsinki Desert Resort.
Thank you, Maru.

We had a wonderful stay at the desert camp. On the way there we drove past other camps that are close to each other, but Helsinki desert camp is nicely remote, so you only see desert when you look around you. The people were very friendly and everything was well taken care of. The tents were very new and the hygiene was also very good. Furthermore, the snacks, dinner and breakfast were very extensive and contained fresh vegetables and fruit. The camel ride took us over the beautiful sand dunes from where we saw the sunset. We also saw a performance of cultural dance and music in the evening. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

This is one of the best tent resorts in Jaiselmer. The hospitality was amazing. The room has heater and A/C in the room and there is also a backup generator. We stayed here for 3 nights and the food was also amazing. They also have a cultural program every night.

Our stay here in a summary:
We were personally driven to the camp by the owner which was amazing, we felt very personally taken care of and safe. The accomodations themselves were excellent, for being in the middle of a desert, a lot of attention to care and detail was given and the bathrooms/tents were very clean.
Excellent food and entertainment at night, we preferred a place without a DJ and it delivered with authentic local artists and dancers, and Rajasthani style food.
Activities offered were plentiful, we did the jeep Safari, camel safari and quad biking before being driven back to the desert camp.
Don't really leave reviews like this often but really felt that the hospitality was amazing by the owner and the rest of the staff as well.

We visited Helsinki camp in January and they made sure we were comfortable in this ice cold weather. The tents were wonderful, facilities were great and cultural program was the highlight. Sikander bhaiya was very warm in his services. Would definitely visit again.
