This is about our recentgroup tour in Rajasthan. We had too much complaints about Jthis hotel that we stayed 2 nights in Late February. There were no hot water in both of two nights. After requesting on first night, they supplied hot water two hours later but it was not hot. We thought that there will be no hot water problem on the second night. We came from the desert and went to the restaurant directly. Noone was able to check hot water. Since everybody was in full of sands, they need to have hot water shower desperately. They brought hot water in buckets. In dinners, They cut all the fruits with the knife that the cook cut onion. Noone would able to eat fruit because of the smell. They couldn’t supply hot water for tea in the breakfast. We went to the rooms and bring the kettles to restaurant. They couldn’t give fried egg on the second morning. Because they were out of stock. I have been told that someone went to the market to buy but in fact it was a lie. Toast bread machine was completely out of order in the second morning and we waited a technician to come. But he couldn’t repair the machine. Most of the waitress doesnt know english as well in this hotel. I am totally dissappointed for this choice.…
The hotel looks like a fort--made of golden yellow sandstone that characterizes the city. The rooms are spacious and has all modern amenities. The food is good, service excellent, EXCEPT--some items on the menu are not available--that should not be for a hotel of this caliber The wifi is erratic. we could get one only after two hours of wrestling The TV reception was bad, all pixelated.
Room was neat and clean. Quick service. staff is professional and courteous. We booked the room with buffet dinner and breakfast. Buffet dinner was delicious and they had lot of options in veg. Though I am a non vegetarian but still I loved it. Breakfast wasn't idli was not fluffy n soft but still ok. This property gives a royal look so we clicked a lot of pictures on the roof of the Hotel. The view from there was beautiful. Room, Hot/coldwater, towels, kits, everything was just perfect. We had an fun staying at this place And now we have lots of good memories from this place.
View and Ambience is good. front night view is amazing but the rest of property was not well lit through out. Buffet Food had variety but channa bathura's channa were hard. Chef needs to work on flavours as per the group needs. Otherwise preparation was good.
A "good experience" is what I would like to say to this stay ( only the stay ). The property is just outside the main Jaisalmer city ( well , everything is a stone throw away in jaisalmer ). Architecture is royal, large open spaces. However the rooms do not completely fall in that category. Ample space to take morning or evening walks. Nook and corner for good pics. Sunrise is beautiful from the far end of the property , near the swimming pool. We did not use the swimming pool as it was too cold. You can see a huge number of wind-mills in distance from the property. There is a small but a very beautiful temple as well in the premises. We saw the beautiful colors of sky from the terrace both in the morning and evening, make sure you do that, but be a bit careful with kids, as the terrace had some open wiring for the lighting. The rooms were comfortable, nothing out of the world. The food at this place , wsa the one which made the experience go downhill. We ordered some room-service in night ( around 8-9 pm, not very late ) the food was cold, as it could be. In the morning, as well, I saw the smallest spread I could see, the guy at live counter was missing for a lot of time. The servers were not really sure of how to manage the bread toasting machine. The sambhar was coloured tamarind water. Upma was stone-cold. I did not understand the reason of serving local food, which could have been made better and probably costed them less as well. I did not see the hall to be full as well, to attribute this to the rush or huge number of guests. There was a cultural program planned for nigthat 7:30 PM, however did not start till 8:30 pm, with no update of when it was going to start, and the guests were made to sit in cold in open area. I saw there were other properties in the area which give similiar royal fort stay experience, lets see If I get to try them again in future.…
Very nice Hotel. Basically, its a Fort. It has a number of luxurious big rooms with all amenities. Very nice, humble and courteous staff. We had a very good meal and snapped a lot of photographs on the roof of the Hotel. It was very nice stay in the Hotel. One must visit while in Jaisalmer.
Deluxe rooms are average - hot water supply is a problem. They upgraded to Super Deluxe room - which were better. But still only one room had geyser (hence 24*7 hot water). But the other one was dependent on the boiler - which runs only when the hotel has substantial number of guests (and that also limited hours). So this is a problem in the hotel.
Ill kept, dusty, ill lighted rooms. No running hot water after a day's outing. Food at exhorbitant rates. Staff untrained. Breakfast poor. Waiters really do not know what to do. No one to clean car. Overall a sad affair. Best avoided.
