Where else in the world can you stay in an 800 year old fort? I’m pretty sure nowhere! The booking.com description of Mud Mirror does it no justice in saying that it is near the fort when in fact it is inside the very walls of fort! The views from it’s rooftop restaurant and bar are spectacular because, and I cannot stress this enough, you will be atop the walls of an 800 year old fort! Please do yourself a favour and stay here. The rooms are also gorgeous, particularly the mud wall rooms, and the staff are just lovely. Lala, the owner, is a bank of local knowledge and will go the the fullest lengths to make sure your stay is all you dreamed of. You can also relax with a cold beer and some of the tastiest food around! At night, if you’re lucky you might get to see some of Jaisalmer’s white bats flitting around (one for the nature nerds) these were only discovered by western science in 2013 and are quite a spectacle. Mud Mirror also has a camel trekking package where you can spend a night in the desert. It is incredible and amazing value for money. If you’re into nature and would like to see the stars at their fullest you should definitely include this as part of your stay. Honestly, Jaisalmer was one of my favourite places we visited on our trip in India and that was due in no small part to Mud Mirror Guest House.…
To whoever reads this: DO VISIT that guest house and enjoy warm hospitality of Lala and his team. Beautiful place, very friendly, with unique flag-story wall ask Lala to show it to you, and you’ll want to contribute! And the views, ah the views! And don’t miss their delicious food! I was there with my wife and our daughter (who is 23). Lala was so kind to us. He is a very sincere and warm-hearted person. All of us shared that opinion. He also offered us a non-typical trip to the desert, with a visit to his village. Mud Mirror is a unique and wonderful experience. We wish we could stay longer in Jaisalmer to make our experience even more fascinating. Vladan
We went for lunch and had great time at the restaurant. Food was really good. They have good food options. The rooftop location is apt for city view. Must visit if you visit Jaisalmer Fort. Staff was also good.
Well located with a great view across the ramparts of the fort. Clean, nicely decorated rooms with good bathrooms. The best thing about Mud Mirror though is the team, brothers Surya and Lala, who are super friendly and fantastically hospitable and can organise all sorts of visits, trips and tours
Thank you very much for the wonderful hospitality and the wonderful Thali we enjoyed during the Jaisalmer Desert Festival. Thank you very much for your time and the personal exchange. We hope to see you soon! Claire and the team of India & You

It is the best hotel in the fort. The view is very awesome. The host Mr. Suresh ji is very friendly and you will feel here like home. The rooms are clean and proper hygiene is maintained. Best to visit with family.
Lala and his brother Surya, make you feel at home, and go out of the way to strike conversations, tell you interesting stories about Jaisalmer and the lives of the 300 families that have been living in the Fort for 13+ generations. The room we lived in had an excellent view, good amenities (slightly expensive). The food prepared by Ramesh is delicious and the Chaay at Mur Mirror is positively the best in Jaisalmer Fort.
