The hotel seems good in looks. Spacious rooms. Other amenities are also present. But actually the property is out of maintenance. You will find many of the fixtures are loosen or not in place. Staffs are lesser than required.

With all not so good reviews, we were hesitant but it was love at first sight. The hotel has a beautiful frontage. Rooms were nicely decorated beyond expectations for a place like Jaisalmer. The staff was courteous to a fault. Breakfast had good spread. It was great indeed knowing that almost nothing grows in or around Jaisalmer. Almost all staff was young and enthusiastic and eager to help. WiFi was provided as courtesy.
All in all good experience beyond expectations.

We visited this place in December during the peak Christmas season. We were 2 families and had 2 rooms. I had read most reviews on trip-advisor but still had to pick this as I had not other option during the peak season with the number of room requirements we had . While I see a lot of emotions about this place which are perhaps all correct, let me focus on the facts only.

Pros:
1. Invested a lot in the infrastructure
2. Large Hotel and decent rooms with Samsung Bravia LCD's, mini-fridge, and other electronic equipment
3. Touch button controls for tv/lights/do not disturb indicators etc - Seen only in good hotels
4. Wash-rooms decently equipped
Unfortunately, the pro's end here

Cons:
1. Near Zero Maintenance case for such a large hotel.
2. Bedsheets/linen/towels/rooms not clean. Spots everywhere. Connection electrical wires showing up around. Stains in a lavish room surprise you
3. Basic promised amenities missing (coffee maker, cups, tea bags) - When inquired they said, 'oops' we forgot. But then we never got them
4. Food is average - South Indian dishes very good but gave pathetic custard as a sweet dish and few other dishes were very bad
5. Service Pathetic - At the Dining area always continued frenzy due to lack of enough cups, plates, spoons, food outage. Dining was always a chaotic experience. People hoarding food items due to anticipated delays in refilling.
6. Value of Money - Pathetic, At INR 475/- + Taxes you get a 'Paneer Pasanda' dish that can barely serve 2 people. Similarly the quality and quantity of dishes is below average. As a family you may spend almost the same amount (INR 4000/-to INR 5000/-) as your room tariff on your daily 3 time meals itself.
7. Front Desk staff - We found a lady running around to fill food bowls for breakfast in the morning standing at the front desk wearing business formals in the afternoon. Multiple people can be seen doing different kinds of jobs at different times of the day
8. Bookings - They are very confused. We had an issue and heard issues from others as well. They always tell stories around getting some last minute bookings from head office in Mumbai which conflicts with local bookings etc and asking you to switch/shift rooms or wait a little before checking-in.

What kept me puzzled was the thought that, how could one spend so much in the infrastructure and not spend a little in maintenance.

So, with such poor ratings how does this hotel run and earn ?
As I found out, this has tie-ups with several tour operators and we had several buses filled with tourists from Gujarat and other places pouring in loads of unsuspecting tourists, who do not seem to have a lot of choice.

Plse i request all travelers do not book in this hotel.I visited in Jan,2015 (2/01/15 to 4/01/15) & one night in Sand Dumes, but i checked out on 4th morning & escaped one night stay in desert becse of this filthy rich hotel... If you reaching late to Jaisalmer you will be needing GPS to track the hotel since you will find only "J" & "S" lightened in night, other letters are fused. You will find pigs & cows welcoming you outside the hotel premises & sometimes inside also, as only one watchman is there to guard two gates !!! The hotel entry gate & front yard is pathetic & visibly dirty. The staff is very un-responsive.There is no dress code to the hotel staff. The person who is cleaning the floor is also your bell-boy & attendant at the reception !!! amazing. All the hotel staff is very rude & un-responsive especially the lady receptionists. In the corridor there is a special "AROMA" which makes you feel as if some wet cloth is lying for years, which you cant even tolerate for a sec. In the room the same "AROMA" accompanies like a ghost. I booked a Suite room thinking is was spacious with a good view from the balcony but the balcony was filled with pigeon feathers & Excreta, as if not cleaned for years !!!. Bed bugs & silver fish can be found easily in the room. no running hot water other than in mornings (that too for a small time). Water is visibly dirty. Bathrooms (2 In suite) are full of that special "AROMA", badly lit, too small for a suite room. Even the pot vibrates when you sit...Scary. in night when about to go to sleep, there was no master switch. I have to call the staff to let me know the master switch...hilarious. No safety in the room, anybody can sneak into the room in night as there was no lock system other than the key lock. There was no Satellite Television, only local cable network was operating in which many channels were locked due to non-payment !!! About food..i must say it was from our choice. The chef (if they have) will start making food for you once you sit on the table as food was never ready !!! The gymnasium was big but un-tidy. All the weights were on the floor. The urinal in the food area was pathetic just like urinals found on the road.....i would to write more on this so called "HOTEL" but then it would be very lengthy....in end i again request all the travelers, plse go to Jaisalmer but PLSE DO NOT BOOK IN THIS HOTEL. It will be a nightmare for you & your family. Thanks.

I visited Jaisalmer in December and after a fantastic stay at Winds Desert Camp my whole trip got spoiled after coming here.
Basic facilities like running hot water in Tap was missing, the management said the boiler had developed a snag. However it did not seem so.
Cable Tv was not working during our stay, dead and dull staff, poorly managed swimming pool are some of the highlights of this hotel.
Lots of lights in room but none of it will work
Never ever go there even if you get it for free.

I had booked this Hotel through my travel agent. Before arriving i had read lots of bad reviews about this Hotel and thought these must have been bad personal experiences. On reaching the place I found a Good building and decent rooms. Alas that was the only good things about the hotel. Most of reviews written earlier had mentioned about bad service, dirty linen, bad food, no cuteliary, absence of tea kettle and no hot water and I too experienced the same. In addition the hotel did not have ice for drinks and the room service took ages to deliver. The General Manager of the hotel who was called by me after I had faced all these problems had not read any reviews of the Hotel for over last 3 months.

If anyone visits this hotel is doing at its own risk.

Dear Friends,
I would like to say that I have received a very poor response from this hotel called Jaisal Vilas, Jaisalmer... I am a travel agent and I sent recently twice my Indian and Foreigner guests to the hotel for the say...but I can't say that that was too much irresponsible, unprofessional experience I have received from the hotel to my guests. There are many things for the examples of the same, like ugly bed sheets, towels, room conditions, poor services... any many other things....also there is not any responsible for these mistake even Mr. Manager, he is also totally unprofessional and not a supporting person at all. Don't waste your money and don't book this hotel for your stay in Jaisalmer. No Management, No Team work from its Mumbai office also.

We had a reservation in this Hotel 3 Palms Jaisal Vilas in the month of October 2014. I altogether booked 2 Rooms at this Hotel. Check-In Was on 5th Oct 2014 and Check-out was on 8th Oct 2014. I paid Rs 12,150 as deposit on 21st Of Sept to confirm the booking at this Hotel With Miss Saumya who is working with this Hotel in Marketing Department. Guess What would have Finally Happened?. We were two couples, Myself n my wife and a Friend and his Wife. After Leaving from Ahmedabad on 5th when we were just 2 hours away from Jaislmer around 10 am i conveyed that we would be reaching around 12 noon and they said that rooms are vacant with them for us as they are already booked well in advance. But when we reached the story was totally different. They dint had rooms for us, they said they got a bulk booking all of sudden so they missed our rooms and when i asked for advance they said our head office is in Mumbai and we are having 6 Hotels in our Group so we cant give advance from here. I need to communicate with Miss Saumya Only for advance and she would be depositing later to my account. This sounded very ridiculous. After a big fight for half an hour, i got my advance back and in between that fight there was a reception guy i dont know his name was fair in color and lil bit healthy wearing specks tried to hit me. I will suggest every1 to avoid this hotel at all cost because they dont know how to treat their clients they offered me the room at the Rate of 4050 ON C.P for double occupancy and den i stayed at hotel fort rajwada which offered me the room at Rs 4500 on C.P. If TripAdvisor would have points allocation in minus then i wud have given MINUS 10 to this hotel. I hate this property more den a hell because it was i who booked rooms and they dint offered us the rooms so i felt just insulted in front of my friend.
