Staying at Deep Mahal for the second time in several years was a particularly pleasant experience seeing the same staff as my previous visit. In the Jaisalmer hospitality industry (and most of India for that matter), boys occupying housekeeping and restaurant positions tend to change location year to year but I was especially pleased to see Johnny still running the...

Great stay in the middle of the fort of jaisalmer. The staff (johnny, gopi, fatan) will do anything to make your stay the best experience you can have. The camel safari with Matar is expensive, but i doubt you will find anything similar in jaisalmer: he is the greatest host you can find in the desert.

This hotel is the best in Jaisalmer, don't stop at the expensive rooms of the luxurious hotels, don't stop to the soulless guesthouses for american tourists, go to Deep Mahal and ask for Little Jonnhy, one of the best meeting I had in India for the six months I spent there. The rooms are beautiful and authentics, and clean, the...

Would highly recommend the hotel itself as the rooms are beautiful and clean at a very reasonable price, even for someone on a tight budget! The only problem is the guy running the hotel puts a lot of pressure on you to take his camel safari the second you walk in the door. He does this because he knows that...

Nice hotel but terrible staff that only tries to sell you safari at a very expensive price. Many people did got rip off. The restaurant and the cook is a joke, the food is not fresh and super expensive for a small quantity.

We loved Deep Mahal! Collected from the bus by lil Johnny and taken to the quaint and beautiful guest house in the fort. We couldn't believe the value of the room - we wished we could stay longer. Friendliest service and relaxing rooftop restaurant. Friendly happy and beautiful place - a must stay!!!

Hotel is great:great location, rooms are affordable and somehow comfortable. BUT do not book a tour with them. They do not give you all the right info (such a the total cost) until the very last minute, so there is a lot of added fees. They tell you to pay later, so you are last minute and it is too...

The hotel is at a great location with the best view of the fort and the staff is very friendly. Specially the manager. He does the very best to make your stay comfortable. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and it is very clean. So in conclusion, you will pay a lot less, but will get a five star hotel...
