We stayed for one night at the Legend Haveli, Jaisalmer during our recent Rajasthan trip. There were some problem with Google Maps and location was wrongly shown. Finally with the help of Hotel staff we were able to reach. The location is a bit off and difficult to reach without own commute. The facility is new and nicely maintained with good decorations. We loved the rooftop Breakfast sitting arrangements. Breakfast had limited options but food was tasty. Tip: Book in advance to avoid peak rates. We had to pay almost 2X normal rates due to the end of the year rush.
We checked on 29 dec 2021, booked deluxe room which was just a box not a single window not even in washroom. Smelling rooms,Dirty towels , no hot water in wash basin ,no view from roof top. We paid 4500 for that room but the room was not worth of more than 1000
We spent two nights at the Legend and enjoyed our visit. Highlights included the friendliness of the staff, rooftop meals, cleanliness of the rooms and charming decor. Moke and his crew bent over backwards to make us comfortable and prepared excellent meals for us, doing everything possible to make us feel at home.
This hotel is truly a home away from home. Rooms are clean, hygenic, luxurious and airy, the best part being the cozy, comphy and traditionally decked jharokha to sit back and relax. Front staff is cooperative, helping and amicable. Roof top restaurant provide a soothing, relaxing and a traditional Rajasthani ambience, not to forget the candle light mouth watering multi cuisines. A must stay property for all those willing to evade from crowded city hustle-bustle.
I booked this hotel through Make My Trip for a two day stay in Nov'19. I made the booking two months in advance during festive season by paying Rs,16,551/- (after deducting large discounts offered by MMT) for a super deluxe room with free breakfast. The hotel was impressive on the laptop as it advertised as a boutique hotel. The hotel has received a 5 star rating from all people which was the basis of my booking. Also they are shown to be having a roof top restaurant. When I checked in I found that the room was not big and very plain (not fancy) the bathroom was also small without any great facilities one would expect after paying such a high price. The hotel was relatively empty. The restaurant is a rooftop convertible which has no menu and has very little to offer in terms of variety. It is more like a Guest House where people stay for business trips. I randomly checked MMT for the price for the day and found that the same room is available for Rs.4,200 per day. This was shocking. So I called MakeMyTrip. Their customer service agent said that they were not responsible for the pricing and the hotels give the price. When I spoke to the hotel owner he said that he is not responsible for the price during festival season and MMT was controlling the price. I again spoke to the customer service agent at MMT who again stated the same thing. However he said that MMT keys in the price given by the hotel. Now whether MMT made the extra money or the hotel will be known only to God. I would like to advise fellow travelers to be very careful in making their choices and not making decisions purely based on web reviews and what the hotel advertises. In the case of this particular hotel I am the only one with one star rating. Buyer Beware is the Axiom which has to be followed.…
