#55 of 242 in Jaisalmer
We welcome you to the far western desert city of Jaisalmer, the city with Fortress, desert, havelis and last but not the least the hospitality and welcoming charm of the local peoples. Hotel Shanti Home is a peaceful abode located just 100 meters from Jaisalmer Fort. The building itself is about 250 years old and belongs to a brahmin family who inhabited here for more than 10 generations. In year 2014-15 it has been totally renovated and converted into small boutique hotel with seven cozy rooms and two floor stunning rooftops. All the rooms are elegantly decorated with Jaisalmer style wooden furniture, local tapestries and also fitted with comfortable beds and clean washrooms. I Pratimesh Vyas welcome you to my inherited home in Jaisalmer and would love to host you in my home town.

We had planned to have a pre wedding photoshoot in Jaisalmer. Nitesh was my photographer for the day... Usually I plan my own itenary for any trip, but this time I let Nitesh to plan this for me. Had a wonderful experience last time I visited Rajasthan and this prompted me to have full faith in Marwari locals. Nitesh suggested me this hotel and this was more of a homestay than a normal hotel . I immediately booked the best room in it with one of the cheapest price I could get in the center of the marketplace. The hotel owner, Lalit was very welcoming to us with his staffs. We had a stay of 2 days and they were on their toes the whole time whenever we needed them. The room was very well organised and hygienic . The food was fantastic, especially the pasta and kadhi chawal prepared by Lalit itself.. Lalit was very comforting towards us and the hospitality was top notch. They offered Jain foods as well and will be back someday with my family. I would like to thank the whole management for organising such a nice getaway Thanks

Great little hotel with two choices for rooftop outdoor seating. Owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. Assistance was provided for walking tour of the city and if we hadn’t already booked our camel safari the hotel could have arranged that as well. Room was clean and comfortable.

We are two backpackers used to cheap family homestays in India so Shanti home was above our average budget. I couldn’t tell you enough how much this extra money was worth it. The rooms are very clean, quiet and comfortable even if some only have windows on the corridor. The two brothers who run the place are extremely helpful and friendly. Both the rooftops give superb views over the city and the surrounding landscape. A perfect resting place !

We had a very nice stay at this small hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and forthcoming. Our room was small, and lacked a window, but it was clean and the roof terrace was great. Location was also really good, right outside the fort.

Lala and Chimmy made us feel at home in their space, sharing local tips and offering great advice. They speak very good english. There is a very nice view of the fort from the top patio, and we enjoyed the homemade meals (breakfast included, lunch and dinner available with charge). It was quiet and the bed was really comfortable. More suitable for the non-party goers, as most of the guests are asleep by 11pm or earlier. The first night I stayed on the 2nd floor which was great. My friend came and we extended a night, moving up to the 3rd floor. The water pressure was a little lower and water temp was a little more challenging to adjust. They arranged an overnight camel safari for us, and we were able to return the next morning to collect our luggage and take a shower before heading to the airport which was nice. Great location for exploring Jaisalmer. Thank you for your hospitality! Overall would recommend for a relaxing stay.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my visit to Shanti Home due to illness. Their response was very understanding and forthcoming as in my case they charged nothing even while they could have done so. Thank you Chimmy and staff. I hope to visit Jaisalmer some other time.

I stayed at Shanti home for 2 days. It was an awesome experience staying here. We were provided with home made food which was freshly prepared and served. Authentic Rajasthani cuisine were also available. They guided us for near by tourist place visits. 5 star for the hospitality we received there. It was really home away from home :-) . This place is near to Jaisalmer fort and nearby to other tourist places. They arrange for desert safari also. It was also a great experience. It was a night stay in desert with bed arranged below the open sky. It was really a rejuvenating experience. Thanks chimmy and Lala ji for all your effort and help.

Thoroughly recommend this family run Hotel/Haveli . It is run by the most helpful gentleman La La and his staff Satar. The feeling of the place is homely. It is spotlessly clean. Food is safe and good. Beds comfortable. Decoration gorgeous. Rooms spacious and well equipped. Incredible central location. Couldn’t be much better.
