Stayed just about 20 hours only. Nice property, good location, reasonable size of neat clean room. Most of the electric points for plugs were not working, had difficulty charging Mobile n Laptop.

Worst was the killing slow speed of food service.

Owner and staff were courteous.

The Desert winds is really a lovely place with nice ,spotlessly clean & comfortable rooms.
The owner Mr Vikram Singh is very helpful , warm & friendly. He helped in complete sight seeing information with maps & itinerary.
The staff is also friendly & takes personal care.

The best thing about this property is its owners, simply the best :)

Highsides : Staff, Ambiance, location, clean
Downsides : Food, bathroom had a stinch i dont know what caused it but it was irritating, although the bathrooms were spotlessly clean

I came to Bikaner only for a few days for work, and stayed at the Desert Winds hotel for two nights. My room was spotless, the sheets were clean, and the bathroom was squeaky clean. The family that runs the hotel is extremely kind and helpful (and they speak perfect English). I had some free time on my first day right after checking in, and asked where the local cloth market was, so I could pick up some famous Bikaner handloom cloth. It turned out the owner was taking her son to the market anyways, and offered for me to go with them in an auto. She even paid for it!

Very nice people. I would definitely come back here again.

Excellent location ,just near to Fort n market. Neat and Clean place n very good food n not to forget the very warm n helpful owners of the hotel. Staff members are very polite, nice and helpful. In-fact, the owners stay in the hotel itself on top floor. a true value for money, if u there for a short trip.
Overall a very good experience

We arrived very tired after a long day and we had a nice meal and a good night sleep. We stayed 3 nights and the owner was very helpful with her recommendations. We had a little problem and she and her husband helped us. We met nice people and we will come back here if possible.

The showers put out just enough water for a rat to shower.

The food was expensive and not very nice.

The room was in disrepair.

The rugs were dirty.

The phone to reception / room service didn't work.

The pick up from the train station was 40 minutes late.

The staff were unhelpful and sent us to a restaurant in town claiming it was a nice place, only to find that my fiancee and I were surrounded by sleazy men who would openly stare and call out to her even as I put my arm around her. Also if you asked the staff for something, they'd just stare at you blankly as if you had two heads until you gave up, at which point you could hear them laughing and talking in Hindi as they walked away. My fiancee speaks Hindi so we knew what they were saying... its not really suitable to put here. Even when they weren't dealing with you, they'd just stare (something many Indians do to foreigners out of fascination I suppose, but its a bit much when the hotel staff drop what they're doing to stare at you).

To add insult to injury, the hotel next door was much cleaner and nicer, had better staff and better food. Also had a back up generator and was cheaper to stay at than Desert Winds, starting at 800 rs.

Speaking of costs, we were told it would be 900 rs per night. They told us when we got there it would be 1500. Should have gone next door then and there but it was late and we were exhausted. They told us it would cost more because we had the best room in the place... I'd hate to see the worst.

We spent two nights at the hotel at the beginning of August and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The rooms were big , comfortable and nicely decorated.
The staff were very friendly.
There is a restaurant where we tried different dishes. They were delicious.
Therefore do not hesitate. The desert winds is definitely the place to stay in Bikaner.
