Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The palace gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. The arches and domes, the facade, the furniture all give you a sense of nostalgia taking you back a few hundred years. The staff service was top notch, all our requests were handled in time. The only issue was the cold, the heaters provided were not enough to heat the rooms sufficiently. The hot water in the shower was lukewarm in the morning. But these minor inconveniences could be ignored in place of the service and the lovely stay.

We have stayed many palace hotels of India ..but this tops all in terms of service and architecture and price. We have seen this palace in movies but no camera can capture It's true beauty. You have to visit personally to feel It's grand Beautiful carvings. We had booked 5 rooms. 2 rooms We felt like old and smelly, on request they immediately changed it. Rooms r nice and clean. Food is really awesome. We had breakfast and dinner there. Every dish was super.. Chef recommend us local dishes and specially prepared dinner as per our requirement. Papad, bhujia, gutta all courrier were super. Folk music performance was also very good. Having breakfast in huge courtyard with live flute music was a total magical experience. View of sunset from terrace is Amazing. Staff is very nice and helpful. They guided us to palace rooms and gave detail history. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definately recommend all to visit bikaner, stay here and enjoy this place like a king ..

Upon arriving at the Laxi Niwas hotel, you will be taken by the imposing grand architecture, and upon entering the hall, you will be impressed by the chiseled red sandstone of the grand inner courtyard. Hard not to feel like royalty! This is accompanied by courteous and attentive service. After check-in our very large palatial suite (with 5 to 8 m ceiling), we went touring Bikaner with the guide recommended by the hotel, who was excellent, and we ended the day having a romantic dinner in the inner courtyard under the stars accompanied by marvelous music and dancing. The Maitre D' chose the menu for us, and it was delicious.

It is an impressive place, a palace of Bikaner royalty that leaves you speechless. We probably had the largest room we have ever seen, with very high ceilings, and 4 spaces (bedroom, luggage room, sink and shower room and another room for the W.C. At first very spectacular. But then you realize that the towels They are scarce and old, there is a lack of toilet paper (something that seems very common in hotels in India), the water they give you as a courtesy is not bottled (therefore a European cannot drink it without risking their stomach health). , that the shower faucet floods the entire sink and that the laundry service returns the clothes with stains that you did not have. A disappointment. On the other hand, the staff is very friendly, especially in the bar and the dinner is very good. The breakfast is fantastic, personalized and with a lot of variety. They like to put on the air conditioning too much, it is not normal for you to experience sultry heat during the day and for you to arrive at the hotel and everything to be 17 degrees. In short: a spectacular place that needs many improvements in equipment and service. If I returned to Bikaner, I would look for another option. This hotel left a bittersweet taste in me.

I am a frequent traveller to Bikaner. I booked the hotel because someone told me that it was managed by same company that managed Narender Bhawan which is a boutique hotel but my experience was not at all good.
Check in was fast and at the counter I was told that my rooms have been upgraded. The rooms were really large and palatial. Out of two tower ACs in room one was not working properly. Cleanliness was good but needed improvement.
The bathrooms were too large but not at all comfortable. The water was not good and not warm enough. They are charging huge amount of money for stay and this should be improved. I understand that in palace it is not possible to make enough changes but minor changes can improve the bathrooms. Clean towels, clean floors and warm water with pressure will do the work. Instead of putting plastic curtain on tub glass partition should improve the cleanliness.
Just excusing that this is a palace hotel can’t exempt from cleanliness and comfort.
Now coming to breakfast part. This was not a buffet breakfast and was set meal. The waiter was looking tired. When I asked for repeat cup of tea his face was like as if I asked for his kidney.
There was some other minor issues in breakfast area but they were sorted promptly by reception staff who are really very energetic.
There were no specific gym area. It was just in front of pool with a couple of machines and one bench press machine. Pool was clean but not up to the standard of the hotel.
A marriage function was there in lawn when we stayed in hotel. The guests were creating nuisance and they were roaming in hotel, clicking pictures.

My one-night stay at Laxmi Niwas Palace from the 16th to 17th December was nothing short of spectacular. From the outset, the check-in process was seamless, prompt, and handled with utmost care, ensuring a warm welcome to this magnificent heritage property.
A special mention goes to Mr. Vikas, the manager, who patiently and warmly answered all my queries about the century-old palace, sharing fascinating insights that deepened my appreciation for its history and charm. The highlight of my arrival was the grand surprise upgrade to the Maharaja Suite, which was simply extraordinary. Spacious, beautifully adorned, and thoughtfully designed, the suite epitomized luxury and comfort, with ample storage and a grand bed perfect for two.
The property itself is impeccably maintained, celebrating the originality of its historical structure while ensuring the highest level of comfort and luxury for its guests. My dinner at Gulab Mahal was an absolute delight—the food was exquisite, and the staff were affable and pleasant, creating a dining experience that was as memorable as the surroundings.
To top it all off, the hotel staff surprised me with a heartwarming birthday celebration, a gesture that I will cherish forever. A particular gentleman, whose name I regrettably forgot, went above and beyond to make the celebration truly special and unforgettable.
Every aspect of my stay, from the grandeur of the suite to the thoughtful gestures of the staff, made this visit exceptional. I will undoubtedly return to Laxmi Niwas Palace, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and authentic royal experience in Bikaner.

The Laxmi Vilas Palace Hotel is an old property still very well maintained with its huge gardens, terraces, a museum and the Lalgarh Palace on campus besides the private residences of the Royal Family.
Popular as a tourist and wedding destination as well as sought after by film crews to shoot on location.
The staff are gentle and old timers and have a graceful air about them. Our check in process was smooth and though we’d arrived last lunch time we got a nice spread.
The rooms are huge and they’ve added a modicum of modern amenities to the rooms. While we appreciate that such an old and large property has its challenges, they’ve tried to make it comfortable though we through they could’ve been a little warmer and richer and not as bare as we found them. There’s a warmth and a welcome feeling you get when you enter a well filled room but large as our suite was, a touch here and there would’ve made a huge difference.
The food however is the best we’ve had in Rajasthan. It is amazing. It’a fresh and tastes just as if it were made at home. We were lucky to catch a meal at their other property Narendra Bhawan as well and that was fantastic too. The setting the ambience and the grub was first class.
The city though is a big disappointment. With such a rich and varied history, it was sad to see the town was dirty, dusty and rundown. Junagadh Fort is beautiful but the areas around are just messy. Seems like they haven’t heard of swacch Bharat in Bikaner, sad...

We were 2 couples with two kids within 4 years age who visited the property for 3 night and 4 days. It is one of the best heritage properties which I have stayed so far in Rajasthan ( Considering Udaipur, Jodhpur , Jaipur n neemrana ) and main reason for that is their hospitality and warmth of staff. Special thanks to vikasji for over all helping to make our stay better and managing the show, Surenderji for suggesting the delicious n lip smacking food and ramji to serve us with a warmth smile. Surenderji went out of the way to help serve the food for our kids which I really appreciate. They perfectly followed the ‘Padharo mare desh’ tag line.
Property is very well maintained and most beautiful part is there central courtyard where you can have your meals with live flute music playing to your ears. In the evening, with candles and lights this courtyard turns into an exotic dinner place. Billiards rooms is huge with real animal skin all over the walls. Food is delicious specially kebabs, lal Maas, panner Labandar n list goes on..
They have huge lush green lawns and various Porche on rooftop where you can sit n soak in sun with the view of Bikaner.
On nearby places, must do is Jeep safari which I found was better then Jaiselmer jeep safari as it was less crowded and karni mata mandir with 1000’s of rats .
Rooms are spacious and huge but overall condition of rooms is not that good so people who are looking for exotic rooms this place is a big No but trust me that is compensated with your overall stay.

Just an average heritage property with overpriced food and least services offered. Good for 1-2 days leisure trip(instagram) .
Food ❌❌❌❌❌
Breakfast served was on cost saving side . There were multiple unhealthy options with worst selection of breads/pastries.
They served dosa which was prepared from over fermented (old) batter .
In room dining was way overpriced. Higher than my last visited 5* hotel (Taj)
Bed/ Bath Linen ❌❌❌
Bed linen was okay but the bed quality was really poor. Towels were so stiff and smell soapy . That smell didn’t go away after you pat your skin with it .
Laundry service was poor as well .
Location ✅✅ Amazing architectural marvel in a completely isolated area around 1 km from the main street/road.
Pool Area ❌❌❌❌❌ seems like they haven’t deep cleaned pool for years. The washroom/changing room was horrible with damaged shower head . No towels . No water bottles . No cleanliness
It’s an old heritage property where they’re least bothered about services because guests visit just for photography/one time experience. wouldn’t recommend for long stays .
Thanks & Best Regards

Laxmi Niwas Palace is a heritage hotel, a palace converted into a hotel. It is most costly hotel in bikaner. The average tariff is about Rs. 10000 for single booking but in case of marriage etc. you have to negotiate with the management and I hope you will get the rooms in the range of approx. 5000 to 7000. No hotel will permit you the outside catering in general but food can be prepared in every hotel in the supervision of your cook.
