This was the best hotel during my trip in India so far now. The architecture is beautiful, I spent hours sitting at the rooftop just to see the landscape and the birds flying at the sunset. The room was exquisite I felt like in a princess room. The dinner at the inside garden with Rajasthani folk music was extremely captivating. Even more, the kindness of each staff, from the desk manager to the dinner supervisors, I felt at home even when this is a very impressive palace. It's so sad I had to leave haha, very addictive.

This place has heaps of character. You really are staying in an old Palace. There is a terrace from where you can see the sunrise & sunset and over the city. Dining was outside in a courtyard with live music & dancing. It was a very beautiful setting and the food (buffet) was good but a little spicy for us. It was also quite expensive. Our room was incredible. It had the original intricately carved red sandstone and a very high arched ceiling. We had an entrance room with a 3 piece suit one side and a desk the other. The floor tiles were from Sicely so after having just looked round the fort we felt like we were staying there. The master bedroom had a 4 poster bed. There was a dressing room, an enormous bathroom (shame about the plastic bath) and even a sheltered balcony. The pool was nice but covered with small leaves and there were no towels. There had been a massive wedding the day before so I think the staff were busy clearing up. I had a good swim anyway. Overall a very enjoyable and memorable stay.

Stayed here for a wedding and the experience was a mixed bag. While my parents had a lavish, well maintained room, I got room 309 which was not well cleaned and had maintenance issues. Upon check in the ac was also not working. Other than the room issues, the food and service was excellent. The property though not very well maintained, is beautiful.

look wise the property is good, staff is humble and polite. the rooms are unkept specially the washrooms. shower area (the vintage tub) is a nightmare to use! leakages in the washroom too. dimly lit rooms, improper natural lighting too. lots of vvip movement gets irritating owing to multiple security checks. obviously the hotel concentrates on these vvips and gives a damn to other guests!

We stayed here with family for 2 nights (had 3 rooms) The rooms are in bad condition and need major overhaul Infact it seems that they have made rooms wherever they could find space and fit in any dilapidated furnishings My parents, who are old, got a room where they had to climb up and down the stairs within the room to visit the bathroom! Imagine they doing this in the middle of the night. We fought for new rooms, and what was finally given to us was still similar. There was a shower cubicle with nothing (no curtain or glass door) to stop the water from falling into the bathroom. Beds squeaked, mattresses were broken, bath tubs were discoloured, room curtains were stained! Am attaching pics of the rooms we got for reference too The food no doubt was nice and the dinner setting is amazing, staff to is helpful, but definitely not a hotel I will like to stay in, especially when we paid INR 15000 per room per night

This is a sham being run in the name of a heritage hotel. The front desk people and property manager are conmen, to be precise. We had booked 2 deluxe rooms and what we were checked into (room number 160 and 161) looked like some dilapidated servant quarters. They first tried to convince us that the whole hotel is sold out. When we protested, they showed us some more shabby rooms(oyo residences are better than the rooms they call deluxe). Then they said ok we can give you historical suites if you pay around 7k per room extra per night (21000 tariff per night). By then, we were so frustrated that we agreed to take the rooms. These had fixtures from World War 1 Era with everything in a state of decadence and lack of upkeep. When I was paying the additional amount for the upgrade the conman manager had the audacity to show me some pics of renovated deluxe rooms which are there in their hotel. What a slimy character really. Next morning, we realized that the similar category rooms allotted to some of the foreigners are a class apart and with classier interiors. The colonial mindset exists even today in India came as a shocker. These people at Laxmi Niwas should be given an award on how to mistreat Indian guests and con people in the name of heritage experience. If you want to be ill treated and want to badly spoil your vacation, head to this hotel. The only person worth mentioning was one Mr. Roy who was a dedicated service personnel at the restaurant. After check out, the trauma continues. The idiots forgot to bill one night charges and then called us while we were enroute. I told them to send me the details and i will pay once I reach the next destination. These uncouth people kept calling me every one hour to make the payment asap. They thought we will run away with their money. A property being run by a bunch of people who shouldn't be in the hospitality industry. Will never come back to this place ever. Worst hotel, I have stayed ever in my life.
