I've been coming to Ludhiana every month since last 3 years for official purpose as well as with family and stayed in a number of hotels here but there is no match for Maharaja Regency. The ambiance of reception, restaurants, lobbies & rooms is absolutely superb. Food is really tasty, local residents also prefer to dine at their restaurants. Staff is so cool & supportive, especially the front office - be it Santosh ji, Akshay, Tanya, Jasjyot at FO or Sumit at restaurant. Their service quality is excellent....

Simply one can't get so much at the same place that too at moderate pricing and at a prime location.

This was a first time stay at this hotel, influenced majorly by a local colleague who was full of praise for this hotel and it's food in particular. I usually have stayed here at Radisson or A hotel which have been good experiences. I checked in around 11pm and was impressed to see family crowd in large numbers at the hotel which spoke of its importance locally. The staircase to the hotel was too steep and was unfriendly for disabled or old people.. infact the hotel had a lot of staircases even while walking which didn't have ramps along making it totally unfriendly for old/ disabled visitors. Impressive was automatic upgrade in the room category and was highly impressed with the reception staff and the room.. huge, luxurious and opulent.. bathroom was a delight too..
Unimpressive was pillow quality on such a great bed and high linen quality, sleep wasn't all that great coz of pillow.. bathroom as I said was a delight however the hot water supply was intermittent and the shower was thus totally non enjoyable and had to be cut short coz of this after a tiring day.. breakfast was fresh, high quality and tasty although limited menu but was made quite in detail.. checkout was smooth too, staff was good as well..
Pillow quality and hot water problem made me deduct a rating point and needs to be addressed please.
Plus points for room quality, food and location.. will stay once more and decide then to be back at Radisson or continue here in future.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Excellent and helpful staff that made our experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel. Nothing is to much trouble and staff are always available and willing to help. Food was lovely including the breakfast and the pizza at the rooftop restaurant. The hotel is clean, room service available 24/7 and convenient for local shops. Special thanks to the staff on reception, house keeping and restaurant staff including Anita, Sandeep, Sunil, Amit, Ranjit and Vivek.

I am surprised the server mentioned that they dont serve regular water, if you want to have water you have to pay 350 rupees for a normal water bottle. Shame for a hotel like maharaja. Though we paid a bill of 5K for the food, but charging 350 for water bottle does not make any sense, you take advantage of people who are coming with families. I been to numerous 5 star hotels and restaurants, no one charge for water bottle. Hope i will get a revert from higher management or else i will esclate it further.

The Maharaja in Ludhiana is true to it’s name.

I must say that I have experienced the greatest service in my life at this location. The promptness of the hotel staff is unparalleled. The care with which each member of the staff responds to my party’s minute requests makes me feel like royalty.

I shall surely return to this place. I recommend you stay here too.

We were part of a group of CMC Graduates who were in Ludhiana for our 25th reunion. Most of us stayed in the Maharaja. We also had a private event in the evening in the Dublin within Maharaja. I write this feedback on behalf of many of my friends who only had positive things to say. Here is a summary of their comments
1. Very conveniently on Firozpur road. Access is good.
2. Sandwiched between more established brands like Park Plaza and Hyatt but no less in terms of quality and service
3. Better value for money
4. Excellent service
5. Wonderful rooms
6. Food and event in Dublin was great. DJ was excellent and picked up very quickly on the mood to have retro and current music
7. Staff very courteous

It will definitely be my place to go for future Ludhiana stays

stayed here for 2 days when i visited the city for business purpose. it initially seems just another hotel which doesnt come under the elite ones but then u realize that you are wrong. it well located with comfortable rooms and great on the food menu. quite enjoyed my stay.
the only problems is that they host a lot of functions and that makes the place a bit noisy. had issues with the same. its advisable to take a room on the higher floors and initial ones to avoid this problem. all this will make the stay a bit more pleasurable.

I have stayed at this hotel three or four times while working in Ludhiana. But I would stay here for a holiday too.

The hotel is a venue for weddings. Every day there are new decorations and another wedding. The whole building buzzes with excitement. You can see the most beautiful gowns and children all dressed up in their best clothes. It's quite magical.

Sometimes, you can feel the beat to the music until the early hours. But it never stopped me form sleeping.

The rooms are recently refurbished and are very comfortable. Perhaps the wifi sometimes drops out for a while. Perhaps sometimes there is no toilet paper because a spare roll is vern provided. But non of that really matters because staying in this hotel is made a real pleasure by the staff. Every single person does their job in a professional but very personal manner. Not oppressive, just helpful, kind, friendly and efficient. They make life very happy indeed.

The two restaurants are excellent. One serves south Indian food - who is really good. The other, called Zaafraan, serves both Indian and international cuisine: Chinese, Thai, European. The menus is brilliantly concurred and the food beautifully cooked. The chef is a master of his art - the vegetables are cooked to perfection but earthing is so well done. I have never had a dish that as anything other than satisfying.

The restaurant staff are also to be congratulated. their service is personal, efficient, helpful and highly professional. The restaurants are managed in an exemplary manner. The manager is always present and the waiters follow his excellent example of customer-orientation. We really felt cared for and understood.

The hotel does not have a licence for alcohol - European and American travellers would need to know that. But I would still stay there - it is such well-run hotel. You can only be happy and comfortable there. Ludhiana has more expensive chain hotels - but The Maharaja Regency offers a personal quality that I would always prefer.

Location is excellent, rooms are well lit and comfortable, quiet corridors. Wash rooms are nice and clean. Overall ambience is good. The service and hospitality is also upto the mark. Morning breakfast spread is great and i loved the menu options. Sagar ratna restaurant is also downstairs which serves good food. Overall a nice place to stay for a budget of 3k.
