This property is located at very prominent location of kalpana square. The hotel has big campus with larg e parking and lawns. The reception and lobby area is big. The room size is also very good. I stayed here for one night during my recent visit to bhubaneswar. The check-in was quick and the front staff was polite. The room was twin bedded room. The room had Vitrified Tiles flooring and the interior looked dated . Room has crt television , mini bar and some furniture too. The room was clean and The linen too was clean. The toilet was spacious and clean too. The biggest drawback of this hotel is its age which reflects on everything however in practicality my stay was quite comfortable here. There is no provision for drivers stay at night or any bathroom for him. The staff is courteous and well behaved. There are nice eateries around and did not try the room service as I was not in on time. Overall a comfortable stay for me.

Stayed in Hotel Kalinga Ashok for a night on August 26 , 2022 and it was a beautifully quiet stay. It's an old establishment at the centre of the historic city of Bhubaneswar but amazingly calm and quiet. My room had green garden view that soothed my eyes and soul. Loved to watch the changing colours of the sky from the room itself. Room service is prompt and the hotel serves some delectable stuff. Thanks

This hotel has the best location and is quite comfortable. It is close to the airport and all the beautiful temples in Bhubaneshwar. The other "good" hotels are very far away in an unappealing location. The staff here are very nice and helpful. There is a free breakfast which is pretty decent. We stayed in a room facing the back garden, however the train tracks are on the other side of that so be ready for train noise early in the morning. Bhubaneshwar has few decent mid-range hotels, so I would say this is the probably the best of the lot! It is very clean and the wifi works!

It was a wonderful experience at Hotel Kalinga Ashok!! The staffs, right from the entrance to the front office executives and the service team was excellent which made a difference!!
I stayed there for over two weeks and the warmth of the staffs made me feel as home!
Food is excellent (though I didn't explore much) and the breakfast buffet was just apt for someone who wants to have a wholesome early morning meal!
I would recommend it strongly!!

Specious lobby and quiet rooms. Location is an advantage. Situated next to Utkal Galleria Mall n just 2.5 kilometer from Airport n 1 km from railway station. Best location! Food oder took some time, but the food was ressly prepared n tasty. We must come next year.

very badly maintained hotel. such a beautiful property in the heart of city without any maintenance. it needs major renovation. bathroom all taps were leaking, in room, dampness on wall. in breakfast choice was limited.

It is a delight to stay in the property. My second visit and as happy as the first time. Courteous staff. Clean.. all amenities provided.
The only improvement I suggest is for the wifi.. that they seriously need to look into.. corner rooms get no wifi.

I was truly amused by the courteous attitude in a Govt. property. The staffs were very well behaved. The wifi was erratic but they made earnest effort to set things right. There is nothing great to write about the restaurant. We had to change the first room they offered because we tend to trip over a broken part of the floor. Bath was neat and tidy though we had to ask for toiletries on and often.

Kalinga Ashoka is situated right in the middle of the city. Railway Station, Airport, market, OTDC all are nearby. The property itself is very spacious and people are very courteous. But the food quality was bad and maintenance in general was poor. The sheets were stained, doors were creaking and bathroom was stained and smelly. Overall average stay.

Breakfast is included in standard room also, but you have to be quick to enjoy the breakfast, because the they keep limited quantity of items on table.The service is not very quick.
There are more places to choose from in the Bhubaneswar area.
