Excellent Location
Initially given room in which the bathroom was not clean. Then shown another room similar issue. Finally got a good room.
Breakfast very limited choice. No choice if fresh fruit apart from Papaya. No juice available (very old looking container of ?pineapple juice. No choice of eating in the room.
Comfortable bed

Its quite an old hotel. The breakfast is pathetic. For the room service they have a options in both veg and non-veg but the food does not taste nor look like the authentic one. example if you order chicken curry, be ready to be surprised as it wont look like one nor will taste like one. So, 3 out of 10 for food.
Most of the staff are rude. They even start fighting in front of guests. Experienced that twice in my 9 day stay.

Overall I will rate this hotel at 4 out of 10.

Unfortunately this tired old hotel is now not an ideal place for a business traveller.

I booked for location thinking the photos looked good. I was upgraded to the executive suite but it is really not nice.

The room in the bathroom is tiny because they have a massive bath which is placed so you have to step in and walk to the far side to put the water on (see photos) and if you want a shower at night you have to tell them because they turn the hot water off. I didn’t know that and no one said anything.

The breakfast room looks great on entry and then you look at the tablecloths. All disgusting. I had to flip one layer over on three tables before I found a clean section.

One of the housekeeping staff was sneezing without covering their face, then wiped their nose and headed into the kitchen. They touched the door as they went into the back. I asked that he wasn’t going to make my food and they explained he was one of the housekeeping staff.

I decided to check out and move to another hotel. The Ramee Grand on the same road. I first asked to see the room as I was there before booking as I didn’t want to make the same mistake twice.

I understand that hotels need refurbishment and are old but they don’t have to be clean.

I have the same expectation for my hotel room that I have at home.

Oh! my God. We just got ripped of $1000 here. They claim that they are 4 start hotel. Listed in every damn directory and Tourism Board catalog as 4 star. We went there it was a shady overrated place and we wanted to get out right away.

First of all they took money in advance of all the six nights which they should not do. I talked to the person at front desk and he said they are 4 star. I was surprised. They took us to the room and I knew right away that they are lying. I complained at the front desk and they sent the manager and I asked him to show me the Tourism Board certificate for 4 star rating he declined right on my face and said that they are no star and don't pay any taxes for 4 star..

We told them we want to leave and left. We asked for money back.. if not for all six night but for the rest of the 5 nights we did not stay.. since we gave them more than 24 hr notice. They are blaming our agent and using bad language. They are big - 2 cheaters and have basically eaten up our money.
They are listed as 4 star in every directory and internet site but are not more than a motel facility. It is a bad experience for us.. basically coming to India and Pune had been a big disappointment... People like them lie right on their face.

I think manager name is Mr Bhihari..

So people beware of this 4 star rating hotel it is actually not

This hotel fares badly on all fronts. The Front Desk was being attended by someone who did not even know the date...he was checking with the guest as to what date it was. The room was pathetic; the bedcover soily, and once the bed cover was removed the bed sheet was even worse - it was soily and the pillows had strands of hair sticking on to them - PATHETIC. When I contacted the Reception, I was told by the obnoxious looking man at the Front Desk that my issues will only be addressed the next morning. Absolutely no courtesy extended towards the Guest - I had checked-in around 930pm tired and looking forward to a comfotable stay, however, it was a nightmare checking into Kohinoor. Finally after all this fiasco I picked up my luggage and went out in the night to search for another accomodation. Thankfully I found Orbett diagonally across the road, which fared excellent. Next day I had to visit Kohinoor twice to get the Credit Card Amount Reversal which was taken the night before as advance.
Do Not visit Kohinoor at any cost.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. By the way I was here during my honeymoon. I have also stayed here during my official trips to Pune. The best part is that the location is in the heart of Pune city. It is in Deccan and the main city , FC road are close by. There are shopping area close by. The rooms are neat and buffet every night. You will get good value for money. The room size is a big smaller compared to the usual 5 star rated , but that is not a cause of concern.

This place has deteriorated over the years. The attitude of the staff is very callous, maybe reflects the approach of the owners who are not interested in running this hotel. The staff simply refuses to ensure that you are comfortable. You need to be lucky for the ACs to work, not only in the rooms but also in the Lobby, restaurant & coffee shop. They do work but only to make a sleep-breaking nose.Tthe best part about this Hotel is that you will be the only guest staying in there. The lobby, restaurant, coffee shop are devoid of the regular hustel bustle of guests/visitors that you see in any standard hotel. Pick it if you want to wander in the corridoors of the hotel frely. That is the only bright spot. Otherwise, there is nothing to write about. The food is easily avoidable. You can visit Shreyas, just down the road if you want to relish authentic Maharashtrian food. I have vowed never to written there (Kohinoor). Visist it if you have no other choice & if you have a portable fan with you to keep you cool in the room.

It is in Apte road near Deccan Gymkhana and I have been staying here for past more than 10 yrs and one great thing is breakfast/lunch and Dinner are all complimentary unlike many hotels where only Breakfast is complimentary .The other point is giving lunch complimentary is hardly used by any one since normally one would have gone out on business and would not come back to have lunch. The logic in giving these benefits one does not know.It is located in a great place.
