pathetic staff. Hotel manageris clueless about transport suggestions. Asked for extra bed at time of booking and they didnt deliver despite reminders till night. hot water was not available for shower in night!! food in restaurant was saving grace. Room was clean but no privacy in bathroom area is small and design is flawed. no parking facility and not suitable for senior citizens as auto doesnt come into the lane

Good location, within walking distance of eating places, close to malls and nightlife. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfasts good with friendly waitstaff. The real star of the place is the manager, Rohan. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and convenient, doing us many favors and even using his personal vehicle for our airport transfer. Overall, Magnus is a good choice. Thanks to all of the staff!

Stayed here recently, the experience right from Entry to check in - check out, there is a reflection of inadequately trained staff, though the attitude of the staff is extremely positive. The rooms are ok for business travellers, the cleanliness levels, Air con, bed quality are all good. Could have had a very goood sleep, had the hot water been available at shower. The wifi generally works ok, but needs improvement.

The worst hotel I’ve stayed in my life. As a woman travelling to other cities this hotel is the worst!! A man from the management literally used the master key to enter my room which I’ve never seen in my life. Thankfully I was with someone at the time and when reported to the management they were also was so rude and justifying this act even after informing them about our checkout timing at the very start along with communication on phone calls. Worst experience and I tell every traveller reading this to never opt in this place with a woman because the Managment has no boundaries ans sense of respect or privacy.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed, please do not waste your money on this hotel. The 1 star I have given is just for the staff......that is the only good thing here. The rooms are spacious but nothing is working here, neither the AC, nor the TV or the plugs or the Internet. The bathroom sucks with the sink always getting clogged. They do not have extra bed, only provide extra mattress and you do not want to see those dirty, smelly, torn mattresses.
I feel pity for the staff working here as they are on receiving end for no fault of theirs, whereas the management are not bothered at all.

Horrible
I stayed at Pune's Best Western Star Residency in the month of August 2015 for 3 nights. This was by far the most horrible experience i have ever had. Being an international chain, I booked this hotel through a travel website, expecting a comfortable stay in Pune. My stay here was no where close to that.
I checked in around 11 pm on 12th August 2015. I was alloted a room on the 3rd floor of the hotel. The tv in the room wasn't working. It kept saying no signal. I called the reception and they assured me that they will look into it. For half-hour nothing happened so i called them again. They said they are looking into the problem. After one hour i called them again, this time they sent a bell boy to look into the problem. As he couldn't fix it i called the reception again and asked them to change my room. After almost two hours of nothing happening, i decided to go down along with my luggage. To my shock i saw that the receptionist i was speaking to busy packing his bag to leave for the day. I asked him what happened, he said they new receptionist will look into it and left. The new person told me that there was a problem from the cable network and they could not do anything about it. At this point i told them to cancel my booking and i was ok to look for another hotel. They said i have already checked in so they can not cancel the booking. When i told him to call a senior, apprently their MD came, who was in his pajamas. I told him the problem. He said nothing can be done right now and booking can not be cancelled. I was very frustrated by now and told him to charge me for one day and cancel the booking. He said that i will be charges for all three nights. After alot of pursuation thry finally gave me a room at 1 am on the 5th floor.
The room they alloted me was not clean, there were no towels, no water to drink in the room. They call the rooms as studio apartments but here is nothing in the room, no hot plate, no microwave, the mini bar is empty, no iron etc. They dont even have hot water. Next morning i called housekeeping thrice for towels but no one did anything about it. I had to go to the housekeeping person on my floor to get towels.
The worse part about this hotel was the room cleaning person. He was smelling from 10 feet away. He was so extremely dirty that after he cleaned my room, the room would have foul smell for atleast one hour. He was using the same towels in the room which are meant for us, to clean the table and even the toilet seat. Then the same towel was used to dry the cups in the room. I was disgusted by seeing this. And all this was happening while i pretended to be busy on my phone right infornt of me. The bedsheet or pollow cover where not changed for all three days. Cups were just washed my water. No mopping of floor.
The walls in this hotel are paper thin. You can hear everything from other peoples rooms. Even people walking can he heard. You literally have to stay silent else they entire floor csn hear you. Even other peoples shower can he heard in another room. Nobody clears the dustbins. Toom service is expensive and takes forever to come.
One evening around 4pm i was sleeping in room. Someone outside was trying to open my door. This person kept trying for 5 mins while i was inside my room. When i went and opened the door and asked him what is it, he said he was trying to open the door next to my room. I even told him that he was trying to open my door and it was clear but he dined. I dont know what he wanted. May be he wanted to steal from my room. This was very strange.
This hotel is extremely unsafe, staff is unfriendly and intermediating. I dint even bother going down for the breakfast because everyone will stare at you. There are lots of small but nice options of hotels in pune. Please don't chose this one even if you are getting a good deal. Because after a point its not about the money anymore when you feel so claustrophobic. Horrible horrible experience.

Very courteous staff, wtih good facilities i.e. Wifi, Bar, Dry kitchen and other buisness services. Based on number of guest availability, buffet breakfast can be enjoyed, else its allacarte with good quality food offered.

Stay was excellent but the breakfast they served was very pathetic for a hotel of this kind. It takes minimum 30 minutes to deliver the food we order. Many times it appears that they turn a blind eye to your orders. For one day hot water was not available. Very clean and neat hotel.

Luxurious Rooms, Courteous Staff, Delicious Food, Great Location !!
Recently me and family were in Pune for a Personal Trip and stayed at the newly opened Best Western Start Residency located at Mundwa. I was staying in the One bedroom apartment which was suggested as their best option for Families.
The entire ambience of the hotel is relaxing and peaceful. The room was extremely spacious (to my surprise) and tastefully decorated. It had all the basic amenities like Wifi, mini fridge etc. The interior decorations gives the room a very luxurious feel. Even the toiletries were of very high quality.
The staff was extremely courteous and ensured my room was immaculate on daily basis. The receptionist and room service were very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel houses a restaurant named “Clay Pot” which serves delicious multi cuisine fare.
The overall standard of the hotel and exceptional service from the staff was second to none, I will certainly be staying here again !!

The hotel was overall OK and in a peaceful environment.
However, the food and beverages were too costly and cannot be said to be of good value.
Breakfast service specially the buffet breakfast was too slow. Needs some improvement in service.

Pls have your shower early in the morning as I found out the water supplied after 10 a.m has foul odour to it (maybe recycled water as is the case with many other hotels in India).
