Right from the reservation, everything at this resort was seamless. The days activities are very thoughtfully planned and one hardly has time to get bored.. the food was very delicious with a lot of vegetarian variety. There is enough to do for people of all ages. Rooms are like a wooden cabin, very very spacious and give a different feel altogether... Our stay was quite enjoyable and I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a couple of days break anytime of the year

We had booked two Cottages (Jalaka) for 2 nights of the 15th and the 16th of April 2022. They were charging ₹15k/night, including all meals, because it was a long weekend. The reviews everywhere were very good and so we decided to go ahead with the booking. It was a bitter-sweet experience and so, I am going to describe my experience in detail. Given the fact that 5-Star hotels charge around ₹7k-10k per night, I was considering this resort to provide 5-Star luxury and service. Even with the meals included, I see no reason not to consider the price to be 5-Star equivalent. Unfortunately, the experience was far from a 5-star experience. The approach to the so-called parking area is through a narrow unlevelled dirt road. The parking area is again unlevelled and just some area on the farm land that they have designated for parking. Doesn't give the feel of an upscale property. The resort security men carried our luggage to a small barge, which carries you across the river to the other side, i.e. the island. This experience feels nice and is definitely a nice one. When we arrived at the Reception, we were offered cold towels and a small glass of rose flavoured milk. This was extremely refreshing on that hot afternoon. We had informed them more than an hour in advance that we were reaching by 2 pm but one of the rooms was not ready when we reached. We kept our luggage in one of the rooms and went back to the restaurant for lunch. The food was normal home-style Maharashtrian food but was excellent and the service was friendly and prompt enough. The wooden cottages are nice, but if I think of them from the perspective of their charges, they are just standard with no real luxury or upscale feel to them. The mirror in the bathroom has a lamp over it, which obstructs your view. The divider between the bathroom/toilet and the room has only a glass partition, which after a certain height, becomes transparent. Due to this, the light in the bathroom floods the bedroom area when turned on and is a disturbance at night. The shampoo and soap dispensers had no markings on them to determine which one is which. No napkins are provided in the rooms and I was told that they were only provided on request, which is strange. The AC in Jalaka 5 was making noise on the second day. So, I recorded the video and showed it to the Engineer who had come to check it. He did some checking and then told us that it was fixed. Unfortunately, it was not fixed and on our second night, we had to endure the noise throughout the night. It was very disturbing and we didn't have a good night's sleep. The blanket is not wide enough and so me and my wife had to adjust quite a bit while sleeping so that both of us remained covered throughout the night. It was cumbersome. The overall ambience and landscape has been maintained extremely well. There were some mulberry trees on the premises and the hotel staff was kind enough to pick some for us. Breakfast and lunch on both days was good but the dinner was average, taste-wise and variety wise. There was a live singer at dinner on both nights, who was just terrible. The resort would have done well to just play some songs on the sound system. The singer was getting some applause from other guests but he was really quite terrible. The high-tea was setup in a beuatiful location by the river but the food was tasteless, particularly the pakoras. What however enriched the ambience was the sitar player at high-tea, who simply made the experience serene. The tractor ride to the high-tea location is fun too. The resort has made arrangements for air-rifle shooting, bicycle riding and horse riding. In the morning, a flautist goes around the resort playing the flute, which is a wonderful touch, I think and I commend the resort for thinking of such a thing. The resort is set in a beautiful surrounding and great trouble has been taken in maintaining the trees, bushes, flowers, etc. Unfortunately, the same care has not been exercised for the 2 ponds, which contained very muddy and apparently, dirty water. I would have expected the water in the artificial ponds to be clean and clear. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the resort but there were definitely some points that we did not like. On the day of our check-out, the Reception called me in the room at 10.45 am to remind me that 11 am is the check-out. I thanked him for the reminder and hung up. Within 5 minutes of the call, there was a security guard at the door asking to take our luggage to the Reception. This was uncalled for and we did not appreciate such behaviour at all. This felt like they were trying to push us out of the hotel. While checking in, one of our rooms was not ready but at check-out, they were pushy. All the same, they gave us a goodie bag with some snacks to carry with us after check-out, which again, was a nice touch. So, I would say that the resort is trying to get things right but there are things that need a lot of improvement. With their prices, they seem to be trying to compete with 5-Star hotels but are not delivering the level of luxury or service.

Namaste !! Dear Valued Guest !! We are truly apologetic that your experience at our resort was not up to your expectations. We completely regret this.We truly understand your concerns. But before any conclusion let us share our coin side too. Firstly the road approach to resort is not narrow , its design in a natural way to give the natural feeling of entering an island resort ans so its non-concrete. The interior of wooden cottages are in antique manner and so it has his own uniqueness. Also we have highly certified chef , who take care of our guest individual, where if any specification needed in food they fulfill the same. We appreciate that you had fun too at time of stay with our various activities. Your feedback will surely help us. We welcome you to experience the same in-depth and hope you will give us another chance to serve you again.
