Had gone to parashar agri tourism for a 2 day stay , this was our second visit , loved it the first time but loved it even better this second time, food is just outstanding as it's very authentic maharashtrian food , rooms are simple thatched ones for a real village kind of stay , this time we got to see black buck and gazelle while on a trek, which is very near to parashar , the ultimate of it it was the bull race , oh my ! Oh my ! The experience was just mind blowing , this happens only during this time of the year .
Needless to say about Manoj and Namritha the owner , very down to earth and every time you talk to manoj ,there is always something new to learn , thankyou to mayur for he is a good guide and passionate in what he is doing. Got to see grape cultivation also in parashar , we had the impression that grapes was only in Nashik ,but in and around Parashar they had good grape cultivation too , Saturday market, where you get to buy fresh vegetables directly from the farmer ,
We had a wonderful stay at parashar , thanks to Manoj and his whole team

Parashar was a unique peek into nature… living in thatched houses took you back to how farmers lived in the past. There was piping hot Maharashtrian vegetarian food that awaited us post our walk in the onion fields and orchard trees like pomegranate, grapes and custard apple. We had a firsthand experience of seeing cows being milked, cuddling a kid goat and seeing how the chickens are raised.
Mr.Manoj and Mr.Mayur were brilliant with their knowledge of the vicine and the historical background of Junnar. Mr. Mayur’s inputs on the plants, cultivation, village life was exquisite and made our stay a memorable one! Washrooms and bedlinen could be better. A few high tables for the benefit of senior citizens

Had a great time at Parashar. Manoj and his team are fabulous hosts and ensured our stay was excellent. Manoj had arranged great excursions to a nearby scenic lake and a nearby grassland’s where we got a chance to spot a herd of blackbuck and deers. On the way we also spotted a fox.
Throughout our stay we had some awesome traditional maharashtrian food and snacks.
Manoj’s knowledge on the local flora and fauna is great and really loved this concept of Agri Tourism.

As the name suggest Parashar is agritourism i.e. a stay in a rural milieu. Parashar is located in near Rajuri town in Junnar taluka of Pune district around 190 kms from Mumbai. First things first, the road (NH 222) from Mumbai to Parashar is very good and smooth though it is only two lane. When we arrived we were immediately shown our rooms which are cottages with straw walls. Hence do not expect any privacy as voices easily travel between 'walls'. The rooms are comfortable enough with decent beds and the bathroom is also more than adequate given the rural setting. Hot water is available only in the mornings though.

The place is run by the husband-wife duo of Manoj and Namrata. There are a couple of lady cooks and a couple of attendants who are in charge of everything else. Manoj is a localite who earlier worked in a bank and also has a degree in agriculture. He has started this strictly no liquor, no smoking, no non-veg place. He is also clear that he will rent out to only families. There are nine huts / rooms of which Manoj and Namrata stay in one. We stayed over a long weekend and the place was almost full with seven huts occupied with families. It is ideal that you plan your trip over weekends else with a group otherwise a single family is likely to get bugged.

Lunch is simple Maharashtrian fare usually rotis, local vegetables, dal, rice, some salads, pickles, and a sweet. So is the dinner. Breakfast is just one item like a poha while some snacks is served in the evenings. Food is uniformly tasty and local ingredients (not organic though) are used as much as possible.

There is plenty to do around the place. Manoj takes you for a walk around the place where you see the local flora and fauna, the fields, and a milk farm (where you can milk cows and drink fresh milk). Manoj is fairly knowledgeable about the area and manages to grip one's attention. He also organises trips to local attractions (in your car of course) and is happy taking you to see them. We went to Ane Ghat and Daryabai Padali (where you can see pot holes on the river bed but the road to it is a back-breaker) as well as an early morning trek in the jungle. Some others went for hike to the nearby mountain and reached its summit. Further Manoj organised a short and sweet "tamasha" by three local "kalakars" the second night and it was quite nice.

All in all recommended to the urban traveller who rarely gets to see and stay in such a place. Its interesting and fun for a couple of nights. The service is personal and quick, the food is tasty and the charges are very reasonable. Do not forget to ask Manoj for the sweet "pedas" shop in nearby Rajuri.

I stayed here with my wife for one day - one night. On entering the farm, we were given a traditional Maharashtrian welcome with a "Tika" and a "Topi" and were showed to our hut. Now this hut is a made out of completely natural Raw material - not a trace of cement! The bathrooms are very neat and clean and takes care of all basic amenities. There is hot water running that comes from a central repository.

In the evening we were taken to a farm trail, where the proprietor Mr Manoj explained us various farming concepts "LIVE". He converses and adresses to the group in the language thats understandable to all. This farm trail's content is not fixed, it changes with the season you are there; eg: we were lucky to be in the grapes season and had a visit to the grapes orchard. Over all a 1.5 hrs walk across the fields of Pomegranate, Onion, Garlic, tomatoes was very refreshing.

After coming back, we relaxed for a while, post which there was a cultural program and then we retired to our huts after dinner.

The sleep quality is definitely good except for every tiny noise made in the surrounding can be heard (so a definite watch out for young couples)

Morning was a turn for a tractor ride! A short, but a sweet one. In the afternoon, we relaxed at a small open hut like structure on a foldable bedding (what we call as a "khat"); which was a Bliss!

Overall:
Experience - Excellent (not for the people who expect a flashy luxurious ride, but only for them who wants to get out of a mundane city life)
Rooms - Very Good - Not rating excellent because of "No Noise Cancellation"
Food - Very Good - Its Basic, Staple, Healthy

A must go for:
1. Parents with kids who want to let their children know about the basic concepts of farming
2. Families
3. Urban couples

Must NOT go for:
1. Young couples who want to just spend time in the room
2. People who want a luxurious getaway

NOTE:
1. "Only men" are "NOT" allowed here since the proprietors want to maintain the sanity of the place
2. Non-veg, Alcohol & Smoking is not allowed

This place has very positive and inspiring vibes. The rooms are basic but very clean and eco friendly in true sense. The resort offers good activities like nature walk, farm tour, rural board games to keep one occupied and entertained. The ladies who run the kitchen are very friendly and feed with much love and care. Since I was down with cold they made me a special medicinal tea from fresh herbs picked from their own farm. All in all, a perfect place to escape from the daily grind. Good work - Manoj and team!

Stayed at Parashar Agritourism in the last week of December with family for 2 nights and 3 days. The place is simple with basic facilities, simple home-made Maharashtrian food (pure veg), no television. I think this is what makes the place different than other resorts. If you want to have a purely rural experience, this place is a must visit. Stay in huts, farm visit, tractor ride, bullock cart ride, forest trip, clay making, wall painting, bonfire at night, fresh air and fresh food. On top of all these, they also have a library with a good collection of English and Marathi books. Altogether nice experience, good staff, good service.
Kids enjoyed a lot. Last but not the least is the cute doggie named 'Chotu' who leaves a lasting impression.
