30 kms from Pune along a winding road amidst gathering clouds - tucked away in a little village is Camp Temgarh. A place with a hill that doesn't have a name and a river the name of which is not important. With elegantly furnished cozy cottages where comfort is not compromised upon, gracefully merging into the rustic milieu, and open spaces - a welcome respite from the cities, Camp Temgarh is an offbeat holiday resort that opens you up to simple pleasures of life. We like to call it the 'Farmhouse experience'.

We browsed the net for a resort which offered lots of natural ambience rather than man made, noisy entertainment and necessary sanitization and isolation, for our first weekend break post lockdown, within 1-2 hours' drive from Pune. We zeroed in on this retreat in a village with no Corona case so far!

It's a cosy place in serene surroundings. Crisp, clean air. Good food. Reasonable sanitization, fair isolation assured by there being hardly any habitats in the vicinity and very low accupancy in the resort. Staff response is quick to service requirements.

On the flip side are minor irritants such as no voluntary cleaning of the room gb and the bathroom on the second day of our stay (I guess this could be due to skeletal staff availability at present) and a miniscule instant geyser in the bathroom attached to our room which necessitated taking out s couple of litres of hot water, waiting for the water in the geyser to heat up again, and so on at least half a dozen times to get a bucket full!

The photos posted with this post include a couple from the surroundings, taken during a walk out of the retreat.

What an excellent and peaceful place.
Very cozy and comfortable. Around 16 kms before Lavasa from Pune is this place - Camp Temgarh. What a beautiful place surrounded by River, a Dam in close proximity and greeneries make it very special. Nicely maintained cottages gives a beautiful and calm stay experience. It is pet friendly place with 2 cute Labs in there as well. They are so calm and friendly you just can't believe. Care takers and staffs are so polite and helpful that it makes the stay more pleasant. I would love to mention the name of the care taker who in turn is the main cook as well - Mahavir ji , he is such a wonderful cook. Foods simplicity and the taste is just one of the best I had in years. It gives you so homely feel that you gonna love this food.
Even a 3 night stay appeared to be short for me.I would love to and will surely visit Camp Temgarh again and again. Lastly Thanks to Mr. Rajan who helped me with my booking formalities and made it a worthy trip.

Hey guys... it feels gr8 to share about a location a place just at a stone spell distance from our city Pune. Anytime throughout the year if you are bored or in tension you can just travel for 25 km from the busy streets of Pune and land up in a serene beautiful environment surrounded by huge mountains and Temgarh lake side at this beautiful resort Camp Temgarh. A gr8 place for one night out with family and friends. They have nice Cozy but spacious cottages to stay in great food and nice hospitality. Children and senior citizens will have more pleasant time spending there. You could also trek around the area. Can visit the Temgarh dam and also Lavasa city.
Well it's a gr8 place which is so.near to Pune to visit...just feels like a new hilly station to be.

My first experience of returning from a resort after seeing the horrible state of the room. We had informed the resort beforehand that we are travelling with a 10 month old baby to check if the resort and the room is child friendly. We were checked into a cottage with two bedrooms and a living room. The cottage was almost outside the resort. The rooms and the floor were covered with dust, also there were cobwebs hanging from the walls and ceiling. The furniture looked damp and old , also covered with dust. The staff entered the room with their footwear on of course they also thought the room was too dirty to enter barefoot. We requested for another cottage but that was not available as construction work was going on and the entire resort seemed to be covered in dust. We visited with high expectations but had to leave immediately as it was impossible to stay there. Deeply regret not going to some other resort near Mulshi.

Basic AC rooms, food is average.. Careful on the charges. Was dealing with one Mr Rajan and was over charged for a few hrs of overstay. Had these charges been highlighted in advance, we would have moved out earlier. Be careful while dealing with him. I have seen the last if this place and may not recommend. Can find many more better places around Pune.

We had booked the place for 20 people. The place is simply beautiful with amazing food and very courteous staff. The rooms have very elegant and simple decor and are super clean. The place is located in the interiors near Temghar dam, which gives you a sincere and calming experience away from the busy city life. The place is well decorated with pretty plantations and with exciting activities to keep you occupied.
I would definitely visit this place again.

good location..probably the best during monsoons..amazing food...prompt service...
though the place aims and specializes in group trips i think its just great for couples and small families too..Lavasa is also quite close to this place...Temgarh dam & the reservoir and the river flowing by the place is also adds to the charm..

This place is a hidden gem... You will never expect that there s sucha beautifull place hidden in Mulshi... Who would expect to land in a lovely place after driving through a small bridge , a long rocky road and a remote area around. But hand on for some interesting experience here.

1) Place: Had been there in summer s so cant say it was the greenest but it wont disappoint you as it wasnt bad either. Nice breeze from the plains full of mango trees with loads of raw mangoes and there at a small distance you ll see 3 beautifull cottages . Even at that time of the year the garden was properly watered and there were pretty flowers around. There s also another cottage with a capacity of around 15 people. One we statyed was a couple cottage and it was fantastic. Very hygenic clean and comfortable.

2) Food: We were told it ll be a veg lunch and a non veg dinner. Not a veg fan and when food arrived it looked pretty simple making me think i ll have to wait for dinner. BUT!!!! The food tasted very nice.. Quite punjabi in flavour and traditional and we ended up overeating. :) Have never seen anyone serving so much raita before though i dont eat curd but the quantity was amazing. Evening coffee and snacks were also gud and the cook made anytin tat u requested. Dinner was also fabul;our good chicken dish nice rice and fresh rotis. Paneer dish was also outstanding and also had BBQ prepared for the nite. Ended with icecream. Requested for puri bhaji for bfast and there it was on our table for bfast the next morning. Simply outstanding.

3) Service : Top Class and outstanding. They were always there to help us. Plates were never empty roti s kept on coming till we had to request for a break .:) The place also has a generator backup which was prompt in case of power cuts. Lovely staff rite from start to end.

Overall a fantastic experience. Would like to thank MR and Mrs Anand for this lovely place and to be very frank for making our day!! Thank you again!!! Its definitely a must visit for all u readers.

Me and my wife desperately needed a place to get away from the Mumbai heat & crowd. Something that could be as cool as Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani or Matheran but not as crowded, commercial or as far as them. Camp Temgarh proved to be just the right place.

I had been to his place on 23rd April when the heat was pretty much on and t'was an off season of sorts. My critique is in the declining order of my likes and dislikes about this place, so I start with the best:-

Ambience :- Be prepared to be enveloped by nature. Surrounded by hills all around and blossoming trees all over, this location is PICTURESQUE from every angle (pardon my photography if you didn't like any of it). Far away from the city hustle & bustle, chirping birds are the only ones disturbing you in your morning tea or an afternoon drink, which m sure no one minds (Don't forget to visit the machaan where you come in to close encounter with these sweet whistlers). To add to it the place has access, that gives you the Jungle book like experience, to a well flowing river where one can spoil oneself with the luxury of nature. The natural twitterati doesn't fail to charm you here either.

Accommodation:- You'll find tents and cottages for staying and although the tents look more charming but the cottages are more spacious so you can choose as per the experience you wanna have. All have a/c's and are self contained with clean toilets. The staff and service gets a thumbs up on the upkeep.

Except for a BIG No No for the rats that wrecked havoc in our luggage. We were surprised for they climbed the extra bed, searched in to our open carry bags, pulled out the muffins and had a bite too...they also didn't spare my charger wire...and they were disturbing enough for us to get restless over our evening drinks :( The staff couldn't do much about it and we had to sleep with rats roaming in our tent. You need to plug the holes Mr. Anand.

Service :- Although ill trained, the staff is polite and forthcoming towards the guests. I appreciate the efforts they take to make our stay comfortable. The timings of meals could've been a lil more prompt. Lunch was ready at 2 pm, evening tea at 6 and breakfast at around 9. All of these need to be at least an hour earlier.

Food :- This was BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT. M not sure if the cook was a full-time one but it was a DISASTER to say the least. One can stand late meals but for some taste. How can one mess with a basic tea??? The evening non-veg menu was the same as the one in the noon and wasn't any better. As mentioned on the website the barbecue wasn't there. The breakfast was horrible and that literally halved our over all experience of the stay. Sorry Mr. Anand but you cannot mess with the basic needs of guests.

Price :- Last but not the least...I call this place overrated in its its pricing solely on account of the pest infiltration and food quality. At 3000 per head with all meals included you've got to get these two things right.

Finally, I would want to visit this place one more time in the monsoon but need some more assurances!

Rates of Swiss tents
Answer from ParagK85
Pune, India93 contributions99 helpful votes
They calculate based on per head per night. so Swiss tent fits 4 people. And I am 80% sure - they charge 3000 per head per night for swiss tent accomodation. It has attached bathroom - and good beds - and nothing much really. This rate includes everything 4 meals - 2 small 2 main.
