We visited Fort Jadhavgadh to celebrate our anniversary. The reason we chose this was it's very close proximity to Pune and can be reached in less than 1 hour drive. Though the road to the fort is not well paved, we were mesmerized to see the condition of the fort. It was well maintained and very clean. The staff at the fort were ready to collect our baggage and we just needed to walk into the fort hands free. We were welcomed in traditional style into the fort and were served welcome drinks. Thanks to the express check-in we didn't need to wait at the reception for long time and got the keys to our room. The room were very spacious and could easily fit in 3-4 people but we had the room all for both of us. We were given complimentary food items like famous kanyani bakery biscuits and fruits. The one thing you don't have here is mobile internet service. Don't worry you can still make calls from your network. You can get WiFi from reception which is paid for two devices. We had lunch at Payatha restaurant. It was buffet with live music. The live music made the ambience even more vivid. The food items had lot of variety for both Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food items. We later took a stroll around the fort and were left jaw dropped to look at the well maintained gardens and trees. There are some activities you can do in the fort like pottery, audio tour, sport activities like cricket, volleyball, archery, etc. Later in the evening there a traditional ceremony were the main door of the fort is closed for 10 minutes and the history is been told. Late in the evening we celebrated our anniversary at Chajja restaurant. Many thanks to the staff specially Mukesh who arranged our anniversary cake for us. It made us feel special. We left the fort the next day after having our breakfast which was a buffet. The check out process was smooth and happened within couple of minutes. We left the fort with many memories. Thanks to Dr. Kamat and his staff for maintaining the fort and providing such great hospitality. Would definitely recommend the readers to visit the fort and stay to have a wonderful experience. Thanks!

Fort Jadhavgadh in Pune is indeed Royalty personified! Had gone there for a two nights trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary from Feb 7th to Feb 9th 2021.

Just returned home and decided to write this up. The entire property is fabulous.
Very well maintained rooms and a courteous and polite staff who literally fall back
just to make you feel comfortable.

My wife and I had booked the "Deluxe Kholi" which was right inside the Fort itself.
There are a total of 41 rooms which include tents and cottages which are situated on
the property.

The Kholi was very comfortable and clean. Top notch amenities made the two nights
stay very comfortable.

There are a number of activities throughout the day which keep the guests busy.

A huge fabulous lawn which was very clean and well maintained adds to the pride and royalty of the Fort.

The Chajja and Payatha restaurants inside the Fort tickle your taste buds to a certain extent but it can pinch the wallet as well.

The only two cons I can mention are the following :

1) The approach road leading to the fort is very bad. It's around 5 mins from the main highway. But the road is terrible and definitely not advisable to go around at night as it can very easily damage your vehicle.

2) The Payatha restaurant has some good dishes but sometimes due to the chilly weather it gets cold pretty fast. Being a buffey spread doesn't help as the food quickly looses its taste. The rotis become hard and the chicken becomes rubbery. Something which the kitchen staff must look into.

All in all, I would say that Fort Jadhavgadh definitely is worth a visit and a place where you can keep going every 3-4 months to recharge your batteries.

A great royal experience which surely should not be missed.

Regards,
Vishal Vijaykumar K

We had booked Fort Jadhavgadh on my birthday hoping to spend a great outing a good location and luxurious property, however the experience at Fort Jadhavgadh spoilt my birthday to an extent that i am very sure that I would never go back to this place and wiill never recommend this to anyone.
We had booked a Darbari suite winter package with all meals and the problems started from here. On check in we found out that the room showed as Darbari suite on their website is different from the one given to us. The picture on site shows two beds and the one given to us had one bed only. We raised the concern with the reception and first they argued on this and later promised to give us an extra bed.

Regarding check in time the reception staff was extremely curt and rude and said our room was not ready and we will have to wait half an hour despite informing their person one day prior about our time of arrival.

In the night , when we called the housekeeping to make our extra bed, noone picked up our calls and similarly at the reception noone was picking up calls. I had to go down to reception which is at the base of fort and I saw two people at reception happily ignoring calls of people. I asked them to call housekeeping regarding my issue and they said a person will come to make the bed. I came back to my room and again after waiting 20 mins noone came. Again noone was picking up calls so had to go back to the reception all the way and I saw the reception staff talking on a personal call and ignoring calls of residents. This time I asked him to call the person here and i would take him along. However again after waiting for 10 mins noone came. Finally the person came to our room more than an hour after raising request.
In Morning when I told this incident to a senior person he started arguing back instead of accepting the mistake. This was by far my worst stay at any properties across the world.
The Food at the property is very sub par. We had booked an all meals plan and we could see same dishes being repeated in lunch and dinner. Like the same dal with different name, corn cheese balls reserved as corn cheese croquets, paneer sabzi reserved and similarly a lot of items
Overall a very very bad experience that spoilt my birthday and I would never go back

If you are in Mumbai and thinking of holiday that involves long drive, adventure, relaxing and historic experience, then Jadhavgad Fort is the best place to be. It took my 4 Hrs to reach to the place from Navi Mumbai as Jadhavgad Fort is on the other end of the Pune, so you need to cross the entire city to reach the destination.

While the entire travel will indeed be worth once you reach the place, as you will be welcomed with sound of tutari and drum followed by a refreshing welcome drink. Most exciting experience of you will be the room you will choose.

If you are seeking to have a super luxury experience, then there are only 3 suites available (Maharaja Suite Maharani Suite and Museum Suite) but I personally felt it doesn't matter what room you choose, as the property is rich with the natural beauties and there are a lot to do, rite from trekking to shooting and archery. On contrary, my suggestion is to go for tents, this will be exclusive in terms of living experience.

Talking about food, it's being offered in buffet and it's truly delicious, with vertices in veg as well as non veg category. However, it's advisable for you carry the water bottles if you are the one who avoid drinking outside water other wise be ready to Rs. 74 per bottle that too for a specific brand.

Rooms were really neat and clean however room serves is little loose, as the response time id too slow, may be due to landscape of the hotel and stretch of the property.

My overall experience was amazing!

It all started when we started hunting for some "hatke" destination.
There comes the great help from Kashmira-the Reservation Executive from Kamat Group.
She helped us to finalize the one night stay and offered us a very good package
including stay at premium suites with lot of activities scheduled on weekends and not forget the SPA!
The property is very nicely maintained and preserved heritage property with 5 star amenities
The staff and Manager were supportive and helpful.
Overall it was good experience.

P.S. : Food could have been better.

I am writing this review siting in the balcony of the Hill view Dalan room as they call it.
Fort Jadhavgadh is a wonderful place, just a little far away than expected from Mumbai. I am surprised that the last approach to the resort is in such a bad shape. There are not too many sign boards either so you definitely need google to help you reach. But, that’s all .... after that everything is superb. The hospitality of the staff is superb and you feel welcome from the moment you park your car.
We were skeptical to travel anywhere due to COVID and this is our first trip after one full year. The staff are all wearing masks, there are sanitizer bottles around, but the resort is full to capacity.
The entry is lovely and royal with trumpets and drums welcoming you. Reception is small, so might take some time to check in if there are too many guests at the same time.
It’s a real fort — so be ready to climb a lot of stairs. May not be ideal for seniors but it is surely a perfect getaway for a couple or a group of friends.
Our room overlooks the hill and the garden. They have huge lawns where one can play, walk etc. Considering that there is so much of open space, the winter months are most ideal to visit.
A lovely Ganesha temple is also on the premises where they do Aarti twice a day. A very divine experience for sure.
We have eaten the al carte food in the open air chhaja restaurant and it was awesome. We are looking forward to trying more dishes and also have a buffet dinner. Staff is helpful and ready to serve with a smile.
The swimming pool is not operational but the location of the pool, the ambiance around it is really great. Would love to come back to experience the pool!
The curtains in our room were not closing well, we told them and in a few minutes they changed the curtains!! That’s something really commendable.
We want to check out their Maharani- maharaja suite and if it’s really good, we are considering to extend our stay and upgrade.
Just one thing I feel that is that from their end till now we have not seen anything complimentary as such — towel art was awesome but then that’s done by most these days. It’s our 18th anniversary and we have been traveling all over the world for so many years .. and usually a meal/ room upgrade / decorations are provided by the hotel from their side each year.
But, all said and done we are having a good time, this gesture could have made it even better!

The fort is very well maintained, great ambience, well preserved architecture.
Rooms are large and well appointed with large beds and great view.
Extensive grounds, beautifully maintained.
Great pool at the top of the fort.
A small but beautiful museum and two temples within the premises.
Nice audio-guided tour.
Ambience in the restaurants, particularly, the balcony at the Chhajja cafe, is great.
food is slightly overpriced.
Room service, even for a bottle of water, is genuinely sluggish.
Wifi is chargeable, reception of mobile towers very weak.
Overall, if you are from Mumbai or Pune, quite a good experience for spending a weekend .

Ladh, Jhagad, Aage Badh, the famous Maratha slogan resonates in the fort as you are welcomed by a Tutari (a Maratha Horn Wind Instrument) and a staff in Nauvari (traditional 9 yard sari). The fort has witnessed 300 years of history. It is located 22 kms from Pune in Jadhavwadi.
The rooms are innovatively designed retaining the historic structure. The property is an ideal experience for a family weekend. The property also offers a wonderful opportunity for conferences and training events. The lawns are spread over a large area and is suitable for Outbound program. The 300 year old temple of Lord Ganesha offers a great spiritual experience. The F&B team dishes out traditional Maratha cuisine, which one must experience.
I visited Jadhavgadh on a Outbound training event and it was a memorable experience.

Stay was average in comparison to the amount you pay for the chhavani rooms.
1. No network in chhavani rooms which they dont tell you in prior and they charge extra for wifi which is usually free even in 3 star hotels.
2. Payatha authentic maharastrian restaurant was closed on monday. Itz open only on weekends which they also didnot mention earlier before booking.
3. Most of the activities are organized on weekends which is again not told before booking.
4. The road to the hotel is like that of 19th century. The hotel does not provide any transport facility atleast to pickup and drop till the highway.
In short, the hotel conceals the info they should provide before you pay for a booking.
5. Power cuts in between.
This is kind of loot actually.
The saviour was hospitality shown by staff and the quality of food. I would like to mention the names of staff who helped us a lot- Somnath, Ankush, Tukaram, Rounik, Rina and Sagar. Thanks to them for saving our stay.
In short, good as 4 star (not worth as 5-star)
