this hotel is an admirable and peaceful abode to break on the bend of pune.if i acknowledgement to pune i will absolutely break there again..the ailment is accomplished and the ancestors that run it are very helpful.the main issue is that it lies far away from the city.
The place is clean, spacious and nice for long stays if you have your own vehicle. The place is pretty far from the main city center and accessibility could be an issue if you are going to rely on public transport. Otherwise the place is neat and tidy, and staffwill take good care of you.
Despite the family being lovely, though with barely a word of English, they could not rescue this place from the fact it is a very, very long way from the city and not out in the countryside as I expected. There's a four-lane highway bisecting the hill view in the pictures above and they're building all around the resort, which is behind a cement works, impeccably clean but incredibly hard to leave and arrive to in terms of getting to central Pune. In my view it is not really a suitable spot unless you plan to do nothing and fancy a cheap and cheerful bed and meal (oh by the way, a bill will be produced for all the simple, tasty homecooked food you're given- not unreasonable I just would've liked to have known in advance). The views over the city are nice but don't constitute a restful retreat.…
Despite the fact that the outside part of the place needs lots fo work to be enjoyed, the inside has been just our 10 day paradise. The family managing the place is caring a lot about the guest, and we have to say it looks like a nest. People looking for a very quite place, far from noisy Pune, just to rest for a few days, this hostel is highly recommended. I would be curious to know how the outside looks like in a few years.
The Sumangal Hostel is a wonderful peacel place to stay on the edge of Pune, it is very well run and clean, the food is excellent and the family that run it are very helpful. If I return to Pune I will definitely stay there again. The only thing that slightly distract is getting there from the centre of Pune, you have to be persistent, but it is worth it.
