The owner Mr Desai( of Desai Ambewalle) is a true gentleman who makes sure he goes to every table and chats and asks after his guests in the restaurant. His personal attention to detail and dedication to his staff and guests, makes Hotel Swaroop a very special place to stay in when you visit Pune!!
The staff is polite & friendly.
The food served is simple but always freshly prepared. (This means your order could take a little longer 😊)
The hotel is centrally located with good connectivity to all of Pune city.
The receptionists are well-mannered and polite. In the lobby, they have pictures of different movie stars, sports persons, etc. who have stayed at the hotel at some point. The rooms (both A/C and non-A/C) are basic (with a TV, phone and geyser) but clean and the tariff starts from about Rs.2,500. Although this price may seem a little steep for the very basic rooms and amenities, people who stay here pay more for the location and the trusted reputation of the hotel, than for anything else. It is advisable to book in advance as it is almost always full, and on the weekends it is impossible to get a room without a reservation. Breakfast buffet comes complimentary and it is laid out in the dining room on the ground floor. It includes tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam, toast, idli-sambhar, puri bhaji, aamras (in the mango season), etc.
The majority of the hotel clientèle are families with children and/or senior citizens. In the mornings after 7.30 AM, it gets very noisy as breakfast is served and everybody rushes downstairs. You find kids running all over the place and sometimes parents and maids running after them! When we last stayed at this hotel this March, it got so noisy by 8.30 AM (even though our room was on the second floor) that we could not sleep at all after that (and my husband and I are the sort of people who can otherwise even sleep through an earthquake!)
In short, this hotel is well-suited for families of 3-4 or more. Not recommended for youngsters, newly-marrieds and sleepaholics!
Rooms are clean, not too large, but the ones with a small balcony feel spacious. The hotel has thoughtfully placed chairs, so its a nice place to sit out in the late evening.
Room service is very quick and always a friendly voice on the phone taking orders.
the hotel serves only vegetarian, and the menu is limited, especially if you are staying for several days. But the Maharashtrian dishes are superb, and worth checking out.
The hotel is a favourite with theatre and film people, and breakfast at the common dining space on the ground floor is often in the company of interesting folk.
Swaroop is great value for money, and a wonderful place to stay.
The food too is very nice and the service prompt. The main USP of this hotel is it is close to the Main road but tucked away in a quiet lane. You are at peace and tranquil nobody to disturb you .
The staff was extremely courteous and nice, the rooms were clean with all basic amenities available. It was a kind of marathi celebrity hotel as in lobby you could see a board with many celebrity pictures visiting the hotel.
It is surprising that this hotel is a pure vegetarian but the breakfast was amazing followed by your favorite beverage.Overall the stay was value for money.
There is a very strong positive wibe to this place. Rooms are neat and clean. The food is absolutely amazing. Infact u see a lot of celebraties here coming here just for food. Its not just the taste that is excellent, but its hyginic and easy on my week sromach.
