We stayed in Hotel Swaroop for the first time this year, but it definitely won’t be the last. It is a simple, homely, comfortable hotel with all the basic amenities- good wifi, hot water, comfortable clean beds, clean fluffy white towels , air-conditioning/fan! All the hotel staff right from the watchman, reception staff, restaurant waiters and cleaning staff are all extremely polite, helpful and efficient. A special mention to Sunita at reception, who is so welcoming and helpful at all times. Vishal the restaurant waiter needs a special mention too. He was very helpful and attentive. The food served in the restaurant is tasty and the vegetarian Maharashtrian dishes are delicious - thanks to the superb chefs in the kitchen. Every dish is prepared freshly and served when you order. The breakfast with three choices really does pamper you at the start of each day!
The owner Mr Desai( of Desai Ambewalle) is a true gentleman who makes sure he goes to every table and chats and asks after his guests in the restaurant. His personal attention to detail and dedication to his staff and guests, makes Hotel Swaroop a very special place to stay in when you visit Pune!!

I was at the Swaroop Hotel on two occasions, in November 2023 and February 2024, and in both times I was very well received. The service was always attentive, and the staff made my stay pleasant. The restaurant offers tasty meals throughout the day, ensuring an excellent culinary experience. I highlight especially the staff Sunita, who was extremely helpful and attentive, making our stay even more comfortable.

Stayed in a double occupancy A/C room over the weekend. Its located in a peaceful quiet residential neighborhood in Deccan Gymkhana Prabhat Road. Room had all necessary facilities and availability of hot water. The bathroom could have been a bit more spacious. Room service is prompt and excellent. The restaurant is strictly vegetarian. It would have been great if the menu had a bit more variety. Overall, a good stay.

Located off the green Prabhat Road, this hotel has been around ever since I can recall... I have stayed here a lot of times since I was about four, and now I'm 26!! Back in the 80s, it was probably one of the best hotels in Pune. Now, it may not figure anywhere in the top hotels but the same reputation (well-known to be a safe and decent hotel) and standard of the 80s has been maintained.

The receptionists are well-mannered and polite. In the lobby, they have pictures of different movie stars, sports persons, etc. who have stayed at the hotel at some point. The rooms (both A/C and non-A/C) are basic (with a TV, phone and geyser) but clean and the tariff starts from about Rs.2,500. Although this price may seem a little steep for the very basic rooms and amenities, people who stay here pay more for the location and the trusted reputation of the hotel, than for anything else. It is advisable to book in advance as it is almost always full, and on the weekends it is impossible to get a room without a reservation. Breakfast buffet comes complimentary and it is laid out in the dining room on the ground floor. It includes tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam, toast, idli-sambhar, puri bhaji, aamras (in the mango season), etc.

The majority of the hotel clientèle are families with children and/or senior citizens. In the mornings after 7.30 AM, it gets very noisy as breakfast is served and everybody rushes downstairs. You find kids running all over the place and sometimes parents and maids running after them! When we last stayed at this hotel this March, it got so noisy by 8.30 AM (even though our room was on the second floor) that we could not sleep at all after that (and my husband and I are the sort of people who can otherwise even sleep through an earthquake!)

In short, this hotel is well-suited for families of 3-4 or more. Not recommended for youngsters, newly-marrieds and sleepaholics!

I've been staying at Swaroop over several years now, but more regularly over the last two months. Always greeted warmly by a very helpful staff starting from the watchman at the gate, to the efficient staff at reception. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms are better furnished, but the place maintains it homely, friendly feel.
Rooms are clean, not too large, but the ones with a small balcony feel spacious. The hotel has thoughtfully placed chairs, so its a nice place to sit out in the late evening.
Room service is very quick and always a friendly voice on the phone taking orders.
the hotel serves only vegetarian, and the menu is limited, especially if you are staying for several days. But the Maharashtrian dishes are superb, and worth checking out.
The hotel is a favourite with theatre and film people, and breakfast at the common dining space on the ground floor is often in the company of interesting folk.
Swaroop is great value for money, and a wonderful place to stay.

We made this choice as it is centrally located and close to Deccan . I stayed with my wife and Kids. The Staff is very friendly and kids too enjoyed in the very limited space. They have a small Rabbit enclosures which the kids fancy.

The food too is very nice and the service prompt. The main USP of this hotel is it is close to the Main road but tucked away in a quiet lane. You are at peace and tranquil nobody to disturb you .

I have stayed there for couple of days for official work. The location is perfect for a stay, it is peaceful and also located near the important market place of Pune F.C road.
The staff was extremely courteous and nice, the rooms were clean with all basic amenities available. It was a kind of marathi celebrity hotel as in lobby you could see a board with many celebrity pictures visiting the hotel.
It is surprising that this hotel is a pure vegetarian but the breakfast was amazing followed by your favorite beverage.Overall the stay was value for money.
