We were on a Peregrine tour and were very grateful that we only had to stay here for one night. This hotel is in urgent need of maintenance. Our room was large but tired looking. The toilet didn't flush and when we told staff we were instructed on how to jiggle the handle in a certain way to make it work. No hot water and the water pressure was non existent. The pool was green and unable to be used. The dinner buffet was overpriced for the little variety that was offered so we chose to order from the menu - big mistake! It took ages to arrive and when it did, it was very disappointing. When mentioning our thoughts to the manager, he was quite rude. We left early the next day and were given breakfast boxes which were quite adequate under the circumstances. No, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel.…
This hotel is very poor, we arrived early and were treated like an inconvenience. We were charged to get into our room before noon, after a night on the train, by the extreemly unhelpful reception staff. They charge 150 rupees per hour for wifi, then pester you to buy a drink, then tell you you can't drink in the lobby were the wifi is! The food was a new low for India, swimming in grease. Even the toast was inedible. We are hard to displease, but this hotel is just awful.
The hotel was in a great location for visiting the temples of Khajuraho. The hotel rooms are tired and could do with a full refresh. I had to complain regarding the poor service in the restaurant where requested food and drink was not provided. The swimming pool was in a very unsafe condition and one of our fellow traveller's had a significant grazing to his legs when the plastic drainage grating gave way as he stepped on it. The reception staff were most helpful in assisting any requests. There was NO free WIFI in this hotel and the cost was excessive.
Just as the previous post stated…I also rarely give negative reviews, however this hotel needs to get their act together. They are moonlighting as a 41/2 star and are not meeting the standards that they are charging for. Note that no management ever responses to the trip advisor reviews…good or bad. This tells me they are not interested in improvement. The market for accommodation is competitive but alas… Upon entering the hotel, it is clean and well decorated. The room we were in on the main floor was large and mostly comfortable. The bed wasn't too bad but the pillows need to be thrown in the trash! Seriously, your jacket/sweater would be more comfortable. The plumbing under our bathroom sink was leaking on the floor and had been for some time, as evidenced by electrical tape wrapped on the line. The toilet leaked water from the flush handle whenever you flushed. The toilet seat was not even attached to the toilet so not sure what the point of that is. The shower curtain was mouldy. So we can mostly live with this stuff here and there but those places are portraying something that they are not. The hotel charges R150/hr for wifi as if they were 5 star. No hotel in the 18 days that we have travelled this far has charged for wifi and I have not given a hotel a review such as this yet on this trip. The pool water was not clear… I know… it's a pool, but it's redundant if it isn't clean. We went for breakfast buffet. The selection was adequate but all the food (even porridge) was cold. The burners were out and had been for a while so the pre made omelettes, potatoes, beans, Indian breakfast food was all cold. The waiter offered fresh made eggs to order after we had finished eating. He did head off to light the burners when I told him that it was all cold. Then he came back and said "it's all warm now". If this was my place, it would seriously take very little to lift this place to a solid 4 star and give the guests little amenities that matter. Who the heck needs teeth and shaving kits and combs and band aids in your bathroom. Save that money and give wifi, clean the pool, replace pillows and fix the simple plumbing issues…it's not like other hotels in Khujarho (or India for that matter) haven't figured it out. Stay if you must (we were pre booked) but seek better if its possible. If the hotel reads this, perhaps you could do with improvements that are not out of line. And for Gods sake cater to your guest in the basics. …
I don't give out bad reviews without serious consideration but this hotel's inadequacies need highlighting. We stayed here for one night and it was poor value for money and really rough around the edges. if it had been half the price it would have been fair and not a bad place to stay however for what you paid, it was definitely overpriced and a disappointment. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, but it was the place and the price rather than the people who let it down.
