One of finest hotel, I have ever stayed. Big room, so as washroom. Very neet and clean. Cordial and helpful staff. And the price. It is very pocket friendly. In house restaurant. Limited menu, though food is tasty. It is two kilometers from the entrance of western group of temples.
The Hotel Isabel Palace was a great place to stay in Khajuraho. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Great showers. The rooftop restaurant served very delicious food. The best part is Surendra, the hotel manager and his wonderful, friendly, happy staff. There were other groups staying at the hotel to celebrate the annual dance festival--which was spectacular! The art market at the festival is incredible. When you visit the hotel, please say hello from his other, Canadian family!
We had a great time in this hotel, our rooms were huge, with a nice corner to have a coffee, too bad there is only one armchair in a double room. The staff is kind and professional, always ready to help the guest, they even got us a pair of glasses that our son had lost during the trip, truly amazing. The restaurant is not up to par with the rest, more care and cleaning of the tables between one guest and another would be welcome.
Located on the southern edge of Khajuraho (which is not a big town), we extended our stay at this hotel to 3 nights. We had a suite with large double bed and ensuite shower room. The shower took 5 minutes to warm up but we got hot showers. The suite had a balcony with seating to enjoy the green courtyard around which the hotel is built. There was also good bedding because it did get chilly at night. The building itself doesn't have much atmosphere - but the well vegetated courtyard and lovely rooftop with panoramic views add character. The staff also add character - uniformly friendly and helpful. A great plus for this hotel. They were happy to organise rickshaws and provided information about attractions. The wifi was unreliable, which is annoying for guests who rely on it for connectivity. The hotel had TV but were no English language stations. HINT - fabulous Raja Cafe, opposite the western temples, has free wifi and we used that. There were some minor housekeeping issues that we've raised with the management - but overall this was a clean hotel and generally well maintained. The breakfast improved during our stay - with offerings becoming more attuned to guest preferences. We paid about AUD100 per night for our suite, which seemed expensive - but Khajuraho is a destination wedding location and it was wedding season. It's not the smartest hotel in Khajuraho - I would describe it as 3 star; the hard-working staff and service elevate it. I would return.…
Hotel Isabel Palace, Khajuraho We stayed 3 nights in this hotel, at the very entrance of small Khajuraho village. The building is absolutely charming, an old building with private balconies overlooking lush palm trees. Looks like some colonial building, carefully renovated. Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, an open-air terrace, in a quiet environment. The staff is small, young, and very dedicated. No fake luxury here, only people doing their best to make you enjoy your stay. All this at a very reasonable price. Exceptional addition: Mr. Govind Das Rajak, the (Gvt.approved) local guide recommended by the hotel reception. This highly competent guide, who speaks excellent English and a few other languages (Japanese among others) has been for me the most interesting guide I have ever met in India (and I’ve seen many). So both, this hotel and this guide are highly recommended, if you want to enjoy a few comfortable days in amazing Khajuraho, surrounded by friendly, dedicated and competent people.…
Staying here for two days, spacious comfortable rooms and great ambiance. The staff are genuinely friendly, hospitable and helpful. The menu is extensive and multicultural and food is cooked to order, fresh and tasty. We’ve stayed in a number of hotels on this trip, but this one is really relaxing and unique. They can also organise a range of trips and activities in Khajuraho and the surrounding areas including Orchha. A really enjoyable experience.
This was a lovely place to spend a couple of nights, as we did. To start, this must be the most enthusiastic, welcoming and helpful staff anywhere. They were a delight. The hotel was built in 2011, but it has the feel of a heritage hotel. There is live music each evening in the courtyard around the campfire (we were there in Dec when the nights are chilly). There is a very good restaurant for all meals. We enjoyed sitting on the rooftop balcony, and on our own private balcony, as well. This is not a luxury 5-star hotel, but it is clean, quiet, well-located (we walked to the temple complex), and delightful. We highly recommend it.
Whenever I write a review I think about cost of the accommodation and relativity for that country. Is this place a 5 star hotel, no. Is it a beautiful heritage property, not really. But what this place is, is excellent value for money, the service superb and food top notch. Yes the hotel feels like it needs some work doing to it, but honestly we had 4 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Akash and one of his colleagues (sorry didn't get name) we're just so helpful for anything we needed, especially for food . Sunrendra was excellent from prior our visit helping us with some options, and throughout Aways on hand if needed. Also, sitting on the rooftop, with very little noise, watching the world go by....bliss.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is comfortable, food is good and no one is pushing you to do anything. Some of us were sick during our stay and the staff were so helpful and took care of everything they could. It’s definitely an excellent choice and we are very grateful for the experience. The hotel also arranged a transfer for us to Lucknow and it worked out perfectly.
We were a group of 10 and we happened to stay for one night in this property.I would say the facilities are very basic here and the rooms seem to be old.I must say the food offered here was good.Major hitch i had with this place was no Lift and I was traveling with a group of senior citizens and they had a tough time.
