The Sarai at Toria is a beautiful riverside retreat close to the World Heritage site of Khajuraho and to the Panna Tiger Reserve. The eight independent cottages are created in village style mud and thatch but have spacious contemporary interiors. The dining/sitting area is an open structure commanding serene and stunning views over the Ken river, to the park's hills beyond.

We decided to treat ourselves at the end of two months travelling in India and it was worth every rupee. Everything at the lodge from the food and room to the staff was perfect. A lot of the food was straight out of their organic garden where we also ate. It has a perfect peaceful location by the river but close to Panna tiger reserve main gate. We were delighted to do our safaris through the lodge as their driver and guide were awesome - without them we would never have seen the 2 leopards and they were so much more knowledgable than the government guides. I would definitely recommend to stay here and to do some safaris in Panna. Thanks again to Raghu and Piyush for a great stay!

What a wonderful accommodation! We had a three night stay here and it is a little slice of heaven. We had plenty of time to visit Panna and look for wildlife, take a bird watching boat ride on the Ken river and have a day for just relaxing. The food is excellent with many ingredients coming from their own garden. A great variety and everything delicious. We had lunch in the garden and dinner under the stars. The service is thoughtful and always at the ready to offer assistance, a drink etc. There are just six small stand alone cottages so you don’t have to worry about a crush of other guests. The interiors are spacious and have everything you need. They also have a personal laundry service that is very affordable. We had an extra day here for resting and relaxing and the

Thank you SunnyandBuster for your informative review. Sounds as though the magic of our location touched you also! We are always happy to read what our guests have enjoyed about the Sarai. Thank you for taking the time to do this. By the way just to clarify, there are 8 cottages but that's our limit! No crowds. Come back soon! Joanna

We were looking forward to this part of our 3 week holiday the most as it was something completely different. We were not disappointed. The cottages are beautifully designed and totally eco-friendly. The food is traditional Indian home cooking served with excellent service. We enjoyed a boat ride, safari and walk to the village, where we met some delightful people. We really appreciated the opportunities Joanna and Raghu are giving to the people of the local community. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Excellent location of the lodge, which is very close to Panna Park. The cottages are spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable. Exceptionnal hospitality of the owners Joanna and Raghu, who are both fond of wildlife conservation, having a huge knowledge of the wildlife. Indeed, Joanna is a wildlife photographer, who has worked for National Geographics. Raghu is a famous scientist who has participated in tigers reintroduction in Panna park, being still implicated in tiger conservation and writing books on tigers. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is excellent; the menus are created by Raghu and Joanna who are also perfect cooks. The dinners are very friendly, as we eat all together with Joanna and Raghu, who talk to us about wildlife. Excellent level of

located on a beautiful spot close to the Ken River this small lodge is an excellent base to explore Panna Tiger Reserve and to visit the Khajuraho temples. The cottages are large and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding. The owners, Joanna and Raghu, are exceptional hosts and very passionate about conservation and wildlife. Sightings in Panna exceeded my expectations with 4 tigers, 8 leopards, jungle cat, striped hyena, chinkara etc
