Cramped but clean budget rooms, with AC. Helpful staff. Walking distance from the western group of temples, and most restaurants. Two ATMs close by. Ask for lake view rooms. Best to use as basecamp for temple exploring.

We stayed in 3 hotels in kajarahu and this was by far the best. Clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The room also had a balcony with a view over the lake. Close to the 3 temples and main walking street. Would stay here again if we come back to kajarahu.

I stayed there one night and it was very pleasant. The lake view is a plus, very quiet and peaceful. The owner is such a nice guy, he helped us with everything and shared some thoughts about meditation as well. A great place to stay and enjoy Khajuraho!

We had booked a double room with Hotel Lakeside while we were in some other hotel in Khajuraho, in order to change, giving an advance of Rs 1K, in the month of February 2023. As there were some difficulties in leaving the present hotel, we had requested Hotel Lakeside to return the money of Rs. 1K which was given as an advance. Showing extremely good gesture Hotel Lakeside returned the money without deducting anything. Simply great to stay in such hotels !!

I am a high school English teacher in Gifu City in Japan. My name is Masahide Taniguchi. I do recomend this hotel. Everything is fine. I am sure this hotel is by far the best in Kajuraho. Especially the owner is very kind and reliabale. He is able to speak English and Japanese very well. Wi-fy is free and in very condition. The cottage cheese and plain rice are very tasty and remind me of Japan. I do apprecitate the owner for making this trip excellent. Thank you so much. I am leaving for Varanasi now. See you again.

We choose a room with bathroom and air conditioning. In the pictures you can see the room so there's not much more to write. I know there are other rooms better than this so if you choose this hotel make sure how will be your room but even you book a good room, you will not have any guarantee that they comply your request. Fortunately we found a free room at another hotel.

That was a horrible experience! First we met a guy in general coach while travelling from Agra to Khajuraho. He was nice and offered to stay in his boss'es hotel Lakeside. As we didn't need to spend a night in Khajuraho, we agreed. The room was cheap, that's true. 300 rupies for triple room after some discount. Still the rom itself was a mess. Of course i know, tht guest houses in India are not the cleanest in the world but this one was disgusting. Bathroom had no hot water, was really dirty. Beds were one of dirtiest in the whole travelling expierience in India. At the end of the day when we checked outat night, lobby worker told us to pay room charge though we have paid it while check-in.Staff was pretty unplasant all the time and asked twice of standard service charge for tickets booking.
Please do not stay in this "kinda hotel", there are too many options just around the corner.

After checking out of Zen hotel where I was staying ASAP in the morning due to a night of intermittent power and waking up to no running water I stumbled across Lakeside Hotel.

I was in search of breakfast but as it was low season the restaurant wasn't open. However the owner, Avinash, who was sat in the lobby was kindly able to provide tea instead. Over a long chat about yoga, meditation and life I looked around his hotel and a few of the 20 or so rooms.

It has an impressive location opposite the lake. With lotus flowers in full bloom and the Western temples a stones throw away, which you can see peeking over the tree-tops from the rooftop of the hotel. I'm assured that it's a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset.

As the hotel doesn't feature in lonely planet I had not noticed it the day before whilst searching for a hotel. However after seeing the rooms and the location if I was to go back to Khajuraho I would definitely consider this option.

Away from the main street that houses most of the hotels you don't get pounched on by touts as soon as you leave the door. The owner stressed to me his negative feelings about Khajuraho and the relentless touts that unfortunately it is known for. Hoping that in the future and with more fuss made about the problem it could change for the better.

With Avinash being president of the Khajuraho Hotel Association I imagine a stay here you would be well looked after and valued. With any issue that you might have solved in a professional manner.

Doesn't have WiFi, but that is available in most of the nearby restaurants.

Over priced, no hot water, very dirty bathroom with broken toilet seat. Breakfast was barely eatable and very noisy at night,. You can do better, we don't recommend this hotel.

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Lakeside. My actual plan was to stay for 2 nights but later I extended my stay to 7 nights, as I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe of the place. It's located a stone's throw from the main UNESCO World Heritage Temples. One can have a breathtaking view of sunrise and sunset from the huge and spacious terrace of the hotel. The Owner is such a wonderful, friendly and hospitable person. He takes immense and great care of his guests. Thanks to him, I had this opportunity to learn and practise Yoga with him.The entire premises of the hotel is very clean. Rooms are airy and cozy. Since I stayed during winter, I had access to hot water round the clock which is a commendable thing.
I always enjoyed the morning tea provided by the management. The owner helped a great deal in organising my trips to the countryside of town - especially the hike on Datla hill range and natural waterfalls.
To conclude my review, I can only say that the hospitality couldn't have been better in anyway. I highly recommend all the tourists and travellers to stay at Hotel Lakeside. It's definitely one-stop to unwind and relax.
